Thank you! I've been looking for a way to recreate this blanket for a while now! My great-grandma in law used to make these for my spouse's family

Would you be able to tell us what weight of yarn and the size of your hook please?
    I love these. So warm.

I made a blanket just like this, a friend of mine gave me the pattern. To make it really thick and thermal you want to use a N or P hook sixe, whatever you have around there, and a 3 or 4 weight yarn. I used a N hook with Lion brand Mandala ombre and it took 10 skeins, 5 of each for each side and it make it 72 inches wide and 74 inches tall. I am actually just finishing the last row now, then the closing row, and then tying the ends together and trimming it. The mandala Ombre yarn is a 3 weight, has 344 yard per skein, 150g per skein, 5.3oz.Every color is slightly different, the two i got, Harmony and Mantra, the Harmony had a slightly thinner yarn and so was slightly smaller skein than the Mantra. But both worked up really well. I did one color for each side. It seems thinner than some yarn so it is thinner than the blanket shown but still very puffy and warm.

:39 I talk about the second row. I just do a single crochet into the back loop on the chain.
