This sounds excellent! I'm only a 9th grade tuba player and I'm 1st chair in the entire school district. Tuba's my life, music is all I want to do in life.
I play BBb tuba and I am totally hopeless compared to any of these guys.. OMG they are so awesome... I was going to give up but this has inspired me.. I major in trumpet but to sound good on tuba is heaps hard. I am definitely going to concentrate more on tuba now then trumpet.. Well done..
@mathias olsen The Euphonium isn't just called a tenor-tuba, it IS a tuba. It is part of the tuba family, because of the way it is built. It has a conical bore, and the same shape as a Contrabass or Bass tuba, this one just happens to be a Tenor.
YEAH , THATS THE BIG BOY BB FLAT. FUNNY THING ,WHEN I STARTED PLAYING BB FLAT I DID NOT REALIZE THERE WERE OTHERS IN THE FAMILY. STARTED ON A BRASS SOUSA PHONE IN HS 62 IN D.C. MARCHING BAND WITH THAT BIG ASS HORN INTIMIDATING EVERYONE....LOVED IT!!!!
Since childhood I was fascinated by the sound of the Tuba. Now after learning to play the big 4 (piano, guitar, bass guitar [!] and drums) maybe it is time to buy a Tuba and try to handle it. Sounds hard.
One does not simply just buy a tuba to learn with no brasswind experience. They aren't cheap, so try renting one or taking lessons before you buy one yourself; unless you want to play tuba seriously/professionally.
I have two things to say about this. A sign of good breeding is hearing the William Tell Overture and not thinking of The Lone Ranger. Every time I hear this, I think of the bonking scene in A Clockwork Orange.
Ahh my mistake, I thought he was referring to stage right. The one I was looking at was the Contrabass Bb player who is playing what looks to be a fafner. The one on the other side is most definitely playing a melton made euphonium, which is also a righty instrument.
The type of the valves does not have much to do with the tone. They normally affect slurring. The tone difference comes mostly from the taper, bell shape, bore, and valve placement.
Wyatt Allen I was a euphonium major and often a tuba and euphonium quartet was just called a tuba quartet since the euphonium is a part of the tuba Family. Fun fact: the baritone horn is similar to euphonium but is part of the sax horn family.
Sehr schön, wirklich...! 👂🏼🎼
Absolut genial. Ein Wahnsinnssound. Bin restlos begeistert.

Same i play tuba too!
what district? because i was first Tuba in my district aswell
Same. I want to make my tuba playing a career.
TheJamesinator102 I am primarily a trumpet player, but I have to admit that tuba is about as fun to play... I love it
Cristian Gutierrez To be fair, many high school tuba players are quite..Bad. At least they were when I was in band.
they are sooo good. i wonder how long will it take me to sound just like them.
with practice and hard work, you can get there in any time possible
The 12th of never!!!
@@kennethpack1963rude very rude
Amazing! My favorite music played so well and so creatively. You guys make Tuba's sound like an entire orchestra.
Definitely the best brass version that I have ever heard of this particular number.
I am obsessed with the chords in what a wonderful world
Me too!!!

Very good ! Congratulations. !!!
Better articulation than I'll ever achieve ever
Damn... that's magnificent playing!
Ganz hervorragend !!
There is nothing richer in sound than a well-played tuba quartet.
tubas are the best

Yeah but nah.
With these guys, What a wonderful world.
самое приличное и пожалуй пока единственно видео из всех увиденных мною.респект
Sehr schön, danke/.
Those last chords were fantastic. Especially when the bb flat tuba hit that last note. Maybe it's a CC tuba.

The big one should be a melton 195 fafner handmade.

When it changed to What a Wonderful World, I was just like O.O
The F tuba is an interesting horn. It blended right in with the euphoniums.
Wow...fantastic
Herrlich die Jungs!!
proof that the tuba is the best instrument
Wonderful!!!
They actually have 3 tuba's, one of them is a euphonium...
Jade Parkin Very good though!
Jade Parkin the euphonium is a member of the tuba family mank
+Jade Parkin To be specific a euphoniumis actually a tenor tuba, look it up.
It's not uncommon to abbreviate tuba and euphonium quartet to just to just tuba quartet. It's just easier to explain.
the BBb tuba is the most common tuba but theres also the Bb tuba which is what a euphonium is
that's some crazy tonguing! Amazing sound!
Your kick ass "rossini style rock n' roll" melts my heart. WAY TO GO!!!
I have two things to say about this.
A sign of good breeding is hearing the William Tell Overture and not thinking of The Lone Ranger.
Every time I hear this, I think of the bonking scene in A Clockwork Orange.
Bravo maestros 👏👏👏
What precision!!!!!
HOW CAN THEY PLAY SO GOODDDDD
Tuba and euphonium really, but very nice.
THATS ALL YOU NEED......TUBAS!!!!LOL
Magnificent.
That sounds AMAZING!
piękny występ🌹🌹🌹🌹
素晴らしい演奏ですよね。
Extremely talented.
I like the use of the Bb, Eb and F tubas
These people are talented.
Super❤
Seeing that crowd at the end just makes me depressed for the state of affairs we're in currently.
I wish there where some recording of melton playing John Stevens music because they were one of the groups big about playing Stevens stuff
I know about the new recording but I am talking about the old recording.
The 43 dislikes are jealous violins

Viola

GRANDIOSO...

What a team! Wonderful playing to put a smile on this listener's face. Are those rotary valves on the tubas other than the euphonium?
Yes, those are all rotary valves.
@@davidlawrence2204 Thank you for confirming. Much appreciated.
The type of the valves does not have much to do with the tone. They normally affect slurring. The tone difference comes mostly from the taper, bell shape, bore, and valve placement.
Totally tubalar :)
This is insane!

Es sind nach wie vor noch Tuben und keine "TUBAS" !
Aber ein wahnsinnig gut gespielter Wilhelm Tell.
ja das stimmt
ich spieler auch tuba eine große
I also play tuba for my school band I'm in frist chair in ggms
Poxa cara, valeu muito obrigado consegui..
Oh god, this is how brass is supposed to sound. Excellent.
HOW DO YOU TONGUE THAT FAST?!?!
What makes you say that? his tuba has right handed valves.
melton Tuba
Aren't there tree tubas and one euphonium? Just asking.
Why do Germans and Austrians always seem to play rotory valve brass (instead of piston valve)?
How do they articulate so cleanly while playing so fast? It’s inhuman!
that's a euphonium
Wyatt Allen I was a euphonium major and often a tuba and euphonium quartet was just called a tuba quartet since the euphonium is a part of the tuba Family. Fun fact: the baritone horn is similar to euphonium but is part of the sax horn family.
I like your name. It resonates with me well.
C sharp 0 ? on the lowest tuba? :O
so good but is fast so much the william tell
No kidding. Do the type of valves really have much to do with how good the tuba sounds, though? I feel like it wouldn't...
Sounds like a distant hunt in progress.
Actually I love this but have no the equipment
NICE TUBA-ING.
So where do you get a CD with these sample tunes on them? There's none listed at the URL shown???
sem palavras perfeitos
this may not be the case, but rotory valved tubas are easier to maintain. they in my oppinion have a richer sound.
come to uttoxeter!
Hervorragende Musiker, perfekt gespielt, aber meines Erschtens deutlich zu schnell. Mit Verlaub und besten Grüssen, Markus aus Therwil bei Basel
They did not play to fast
