@@thesmallenginekid That's the risk you take when using a battery in a role it was not designed for. If it fails in that role, you have no warranty. And I never go more than 4 years on a car battery anyway. I replace them before they let me down.
Our old American made cars seem to last for decades even if parked outside. What gets me is with a little bit of tinkering around and a solid battery, they start up and idle. Even tires as old as grandpa can still hold air and drive around without having a blow out.
That’s the trunk’s “soft close” mechanism, where you softly close the trunk lid one click and the electric motor draws it down the rest of the way, so you don’t have to slam it. These type projects need a small Mom & Pop business on East Coast doing sand mold castings in recycled 316 steel. So to rust and salt proof these cars. Affordable and Just a fun bunch of people who like being there as a esoteric niche for a bunch of grease monkeys who won't let these behemoths die. They are beautiful cars and a lot of American ingenuity, blood sweat and tears went into em. A Mom and Pop shop that makes drop in and tac weld flooring, rockers and body parts. Spray resin cold, rust, and salt resistant insulation. Powerwash sprayable. For people to really value it. Make it open ended. Not exclusively a full service. Shop should keep molds from all jobs and just build a library where the project could be simple as the refurbisher renting the body part mold and spraying fiber glass or refurbished rubberized plastic prints themselves. Then you get original body integrity of true chasis, engine and trans, but with lighter (higher fuel efficient, better range for hybrid, or electric conversions). Stregthen the body but keep it lighter than a modern full size pick up. Put on a tow package and install seating that folds front & back seat into a bed, with still under bench storage space. Modern power brakes and seat belts. Maybe a salvage lift kit to get it a bit off road and a horn that plays Marty Robbin's El Paso.

Hello Chris and Jen. Well the Engine does sound real good compared to how the car looks.. On the truck mechanism , when all of that is working properly you never want to slam the trunk lid closed. Just close it gentle until you hear it latch and then the mechanism will draw the trunk lid down and tight.

@@corydriver7634 Yeah, the difference in CCA is what lowers the price. Marine batteries have thicker and fewer plates than an auto battery. Probably cheaper to manufacture because of the higher tolerances.
Definetely the best youtuber around
This beast wants to live - surprised at how quickly and well that engine fired up. Hopefully someone with patience and time picks it up.
And LOTS OF MONEY....
Very satisfying to see someone get some USE out of these old cars rather than just let them rot away somewhere. Great channel and content!
Hahaha..once again the jacked up on coffee express wash... didn't even skip a beat Chris...🤣🤣🤣
You got that right! 😆
Thanks I was hoping for this video. The channel is awesome man
43:50 could be a scene in a movie about a down-on-his-luck gambler or something. Great video man

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow always buddy, thanks :)
Great video Chris watching from north east England
Uncle had a 68 same deville, other uncle worked at fleet wood Cadillac in Detroit. He always drove a Buick
It doesn’t matter if show it million times or once. Good too see all. Learned so much from watching your channel. Keep it up.👍
Good mechanic. One big thing about your channel over others is you explain while you are working some chew the fat before doing you would make a good employee for any company. The wife is a definite keeper.
This was a great video, I love old Cadillacs... I forgive you for getting rid of the jeep now lol
The last year of the 429. I had a 67 coupe and loved it. The shop manual said it called for 100 octane and mine did ping sometimes lol. And there should be a vacuum trunk release in the glove box
Its electric.
@Roger Smith interesting. My 59 has an electric, but my 67 was vacuum
Great drone coverage while you're driving, amazing. Permanent subscriber.
Much appreciated!
Rodger that on the effort !
I enjoyed seeing this Caddy come back to life. The 472 lit up without hesitation, once Chris sussed out the ignition.
I like the "shorts" at the end and gives that touch of being a part of the family.
This 1967 Caddy has the 429 V-8.
@@jeffrobodine8579 Cool. Thought I heard him refer to a 472 but must have been talking about another year. I think he should name her "Martha" even if he sells it.
@@jeffrobodine8579 Bored 390 from the 50s. Pretty decent mpg, 18-19 Hwy.
I’m always excited when I see a new video…. My favorite channel
Thanks so much for tuning in man!
WOW, just amazing that you brought this ol girl back to life. My aunt and uncle always drove Cadillacs, they were from Dallas, long gone now. Keep up the great videos, very interesting.
Love the content. Your a baller, every time it seems your dealing with horrible weather there. Only imagine if you all lived in a better climate.
22:40 regarding your question, those Indian batteries are really PoS...I've had bought also technium or something like that and only last 1 year aprox...and they discharge quickly if you don't drive your car/bike often.
What a sweet little pup!
Hi Nicky from Scotland again. That’s what I’m talking about this is what you are good at and love watching them now my son is hooked to 👍👍👍👍👍
Hello Chris and Jen. Well the Engine does sound real good compared to how the car looks.. On the truck mechanism , when all of that is working properly you never want to slam the trunk lid closed. Just close it gentle until you hear it latch and then the mechanism will draw the trunk lid down and tight.
Glad you have rescues two old cars in succession 👍👍That Chrysler wants buying! Great Retro Rod!
Greetings from Spain, great vid, love the content, always amazes me how you get these cars back on the road, all the best to you both, gus and turbo
I drove a 67 Coupe Deville while in high school. Great cars, great memories.
I love seeing the previously waterlogged truck still going
Heck yeah! She's running like a top
Fresh water, quick cleaning, minimal electronics… that’s the key. Any salt water and it’s done for
Them early model cars were put together like tanks. Made to last. Little gus is a smart little guy. You take care of him very well.
We are spoiled in California. Unless you live near the coast. I have rarely had to deal with rust even when working on vehicles sitting for 20-40 years.
I hear that I buy my vehicles i FL im in Maryland so rust here to but not as bad as other states
Here in Texas we dont get that type of rot either its a real shame
Pressure washing is always satisfying, rusty gold ,thanks for the upload.
Great video Chris! Beautiful car! I can imagine that blacked out or done up with a mother of pearl paint job cruising the Vegas strip.
I love anything Cadillac .. I’ve been trying to get a 60’s model up and done headlight cope for years!
Oh yeaaaa! Great Saturday indeed!
I ride an old 85 yamaha, I love it everything is so simple on it. I would love an old 80's car.
Thanks for the video! Good skills to learn here.
