    The convenience of rolling out of bed and going straight to the gym makes the peloton stuff worth it for us. I am a little surprised you didn’t like the strength classes on the guide, Adrian and Ben have some amazing content that I feel make it tough for even those experienced lifters.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  Год назад +1

      I hope I did not come off that way. I think the guide is great. My point is if you want a machine with higher resistance settings, Peloton does not have something like that. But Guide is great.

    Seems to me if you want the Peloton rower but you are waiting for it to come down in price, the no brainer is to get a Concept 2 rower for $1,000 and then sell it when the Peloton rower hits the price point you want. You can sell a C2 rower almost instantly for 80% of what you pay for it. Seriously, it may not last a week after you put it on sale.
    Of course, you may end up deciding to keep the C2, as it is about as close to perfect as cardio equipment gets.

    Nice honest review. When someone spends as much as you have on your Peloton equipment the easy thing is to justify (I have the Bike+ and Tread) and always tell everyone how much you love it
    To me the way to go is like you said, have one of the units and then build out a training space with Tonal or a Functional Trainer for the same price as the Rower would be.
    Also agree though that having two separate subscriptions like Tonal and Peloton gets expensive and not worth it.

    Appreciate the review. I was an OTF member for 4 years until COVID and then I purchased a Hydrow for 2k. My wife insisted on getting the Peleton Treadmill as she didn't enjoy rowing. Well...she never used it. I actually LOVE the tread and use it often and really got into the Yoga as well. Our tread came with 2 sets of dumbells for strength training but that is not enough. What dumbells do you suggest I purchase for the strength classes? Is the Guide worthwhile or is it sufficient to use the app on the tv? I have too much money invested in connected equipment to ever go back to OTF so I have to make this work. Thanks

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  Год назад

      Hey Peter! So glad to hear the choices have worked out so well. I think the Guide is a great option if you like Peloton structured exercise programing and want some guidance. As you are already paying the Peloton monthly fee, the price is not much and you get to add a lot to your gym experience for little cost. Now, on the dumbbells side, this sort of depends on how you want to work out and what your resistance training goals are. I will say, having 3 or 4 sets of dumbbells right in front of you make it easy to flow through the exercises and just grab the one you want. On the other side, if you want to really push yourself and try to put on some muscles, it takes away from the flow a little (use voice control to pause while you get next dumbbell) but I really like adjustable dumbbells. I have tested a couple modes and like both of them. They take up little space but give you all sorts of weights to work with. Hope that helps!

    Great video.
    I think it depends how much you’re into fitness and working out.
    Peloton is great to get you into the habit of working out. But if you’re a long time subscriber, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years … what the hell are you doing?
    It’s like taking piano lessons and only playing the piano when your teacher is around.
    Time to break away from them. They gave you the tools and power , the drive to get you going, to want to do that workout. It’s in you now. There’s no need to pay somebody for so many years so you can do your workouts. But this is what these companies want you to do.
    Just get up and do it. You don’t need them forever.
    Get a bike like Keiser M3i for example. Hop on it and do your thing.
    Feel like taking a class once in a while ? Get the app and use it with your tablet or phone , short term. Cheaper and you’re not locked in a system.
    Another bike worth buying is Rogue Echo or Concept 2 Ergbike.
    But if you want the bikes of all bikes. Get the Kickr Bike Smart Bike.

Also I had a few probs with one of them and peloton immediately replaced the whole bike free of charge for a new one. Just to let people know it really helped me get fit. Now I also enjoy hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and skiing and I’m sure I never would have if I hadn’t of started this fitness journey as I was too embarrassed to go out before and wasn’t fit enough. Hey Travis, Love the videos! I have a Tonal and Peloton Bike and I use both almost daily. Thinking about adding the Peloton rower. In your opinion would you think it’s worth it or would it be redundant with the tonal?

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  Год назад

      Thank you so much Brian! I don't think it is redundant. It is a different type of muscle targeting. Where Tonal is through resistance and tension, the Row is more of a cardio targeting. I don't know if that makes sense. You are engaging a lot of muscles but for longer durations at lighter resistance compared to shorter durations but high resistance like on the Tonal. It is a nice "in the middle" option of full cardio of the bike and full resistance training of the Tonal. Hope that helps!
