I don’t do a lot of tumblers but canning jars are great for practice, and you can sell them. I just have them around the house, but you can buy plain ones pretty cheaply. I would suggest multi-surface acrylic paint. It is inexpensive, it is dishwasher safe, soap and water cleanup, tons of colors, and it can be used inside. Finally good quality paint brushes. Spend a little more on them. You don’t want little hairs ruining a perfect project.
Thank you for this video! I have been searching everywhere for good information and you hit all the subjects and cut down a lot of my research time! Very good information!
I received a cricut machine this Christmas and have been watching videos on how to use it and what to make. The first video I saw of yours was your beach waterslide tumbler and I loved it. You sent me the picture you used and i want to thank you very much for sending it! I can't wait to make a tumbler with it. This video is very helpful for us begginers. I love watching your videos and love your beautiful creations!
Great intro to tumblers video! I've been trying to think of anything I would add to the list of supplies and (other than a respirator, which someone pointed out above already) I can't! Thank you for all the great tutorials 😊
I agree with Courtney, Glitter Grid has great glitter and lower prices than some others. Make sure your waterslide paper is compatible with your printer -ink jet or laser. Thank you Courtney!
Hi Courtney. I normally do sublimation tumblers, and interested in epoxy. I've been struggling with paint to start. What type of spray paint do you recommend for initial spray. Like gloss, matte etc? Thanks! I recently discovered you and love your positive vibe!!
Great info. I've watched a lot of your videos and I love them.... I made my first tumbler a few days ago my aunt loves it .I think it's okay but it's special to me. It reminds me of my mom. 😊 I tried my first water slide tonight and it was terrible ..the ink ran off. I couldn't get the slide on and it happened to be a full page slide. I did spray one time with sealant but didn't work. I use a HP inkjet printer, that doesn't matter does it? Anyway I'm enjoying my journey ...still have lots to learn ...thanks for all the videos you put out there and look forward to new ones. 😊
Hi!! I’m so glad this video was helpful! I use an inkjet printer as well, maybe you didn’t seal it enough? Did you make sure the water slide paper you used was for inkjet printers?
@@CourtneysCustoms thank you for replying Yes The paper is for inkjet printer. I think you're right that I didn't seal it enough. I'll attempt again soon. 😊 Have a great week!
Love all the information. It is a lot to take in. So I was wondering do you have an outline I can write down in my journal and also have a video that has set by set showing how to do a simple tumbler to start out?
Great video!! I'm relatively new in the tumbler world (just started in Dec) and love watching your videos, but have been doing resin crafts for a lil bit. One very important thing that you left out is a respirator. But other than that, good info!!!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make a video for us beginners! I found a bunch of cute glass mugs at the dollar tree, will the epoxy you suggested work on glass s well as stainless steel? Thanks!
I'm very new to the tumbler making thing. Started painting ornaments last year and I have just gone crazy with all the paints. My husband bought me an airbrush set up. The only things I don't have is a vinyl thingy or a printer. LOL. Guess I'll be looking into those soon.
Hi Courtney i'm a new sub i'm loving your videos and i want to learn how to make tumblers no so much to sale them but more to make an easy gift, So i will be watching your videos for more info.
Can you please help me out and tell me if this printer is similar to the your printer you mentioned. The Epson Expression Home XP-5100? I tried looking on Walmart for the one you mentioned and this is the only one that popped up. Thanks a bunch☺️
The one I have probably isn’t even made anymore lol it’s pretty old. I would say unless it’s an Eco Tank printer, it would be the same as mine. Just newer😊
Hello! So I’m very new and just about to get started on buying all of my products to get started and your video is VERY helpful. I know you said you don’t really use vinyl a lot which I would love to be able to stay away from too because I’m not a huge fan lol and I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I kind of want to start with the water slide images and learn those from the beginning, do you actually buy those images or do you still have to design them and cut/print them? I’ve watched tons of videos and done my research and I feel fairly comfortable and confident with the tumbler process I’m just worried about making designs on my cricut that I’m going to get lol is it super hard to learn to make the designs and cut them out and everything? Any tips on actually making the designs and decals would be greatly appreciated!
Hi!! So I get my designs either from Etsy or a website called Creative Fabrica www.creativefabrica.com/ref/1249956/ And then I print them out on water slide paper and apply them to the tumbler. I don’t design my own images most of the time because I’m not good at it lol😂
@@CourtneysCustoms I don’t know how to find my subscription page to ask. Can you do a video on glittered stemless wine glasses? Not sure to epoxy the entire thing or just portion etc? I’m such a newbie sorry
@@CourtneysCustoms its ok. I call it that too. Thanks so much and thank you for all the valuable info. I will wait to see your review on the cup tumbler you bought. I'm excited I have most of the stuff you talked about already. I was looking for an epoxy that worked well. I have a couple but don't like them so I'm excited to try the one you use and all my stuff I already have. Thanks again..and LOVE the quote :)
Stone Coat Countertops sells food grade epoxy, so you may want to consider using their products. Also, when using images such as Bath and Bodyworks, Incredible Hulk, are you getting permission to use their images? I'm afraid you could get in trouble for copyright infringement since you are actually selling these products. I love your information and appreciate you sharing your knowledge to those of us that want to learn how.
This is probably a dumb question. Do you tell your customers the epoxy is food safe? What i am asking is some drink coffee and using a straw they don't like for coffee. Can they drink from cup without straw. I hope you understand my question. The same goes for wine tumbler. People do not like using straw for wine either. I adore your channel but I need this question answered. Everyone says food safe but what is the truth about drinking from tumbler without straw.. thank you and I hope you understand my question. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙

Just the plain ole Liquid Art💜
Which of the KR resin do you get, there is like 5 different ones when you click the link
Just the regular Liquid Art

Can you print a water slide image with an all in one inkjet printer? I have a brother all in one inkjet printer
Yep! As long as you’re using inkjet water slide paper you’ll be fine

@@elbahenriquez9825 you can turn anything into a water slide. I like svg or png but as long as you can remove the background you’re good to go
where is the link to the epoxy for beginners? I don't see it. thank you
Can you tell me what epoxy it is you use from Ks? counter top? easy art?
Liquid art. It’s under “Art Resin”
How long do u let each coat of apoxy dry before doing the next step?TIA
24 hours
Is resin has different kids which do you use specifically?
I just use the liquid art
Can you send a link for acetone? Great video
I just added it to the description, thank you !!💜
You can buy Acetone at any hardware store and Wal-Mart sells it.

I recommend stainless steel only
You said you ordered a cup tumbler from bama cup turner? Is that the name of business? Couldn't find website
I apologize, it’s bamacups.com/products/4-cup-turner

I'm thinking about making tumblers but I am pregnant and would like to know the safest ways to go about making them.
Instead of epoxy use Crystalac. Make sure to get a respirator to wear if you’re going to use spray paint, and be in an extremely well ventilated room.
@@CourtneysCustoms Thank you again for the great advice and i can't wait to start my new hobby and hopefully it turns into a small business.
Would I be able to use a coated tumblers to achieve looks as well if I wasn't to use spray paint to use as a base coat?
Actually Makers Flo prices are actually HIGHER than The stainless steel depot on most cups.
I have only purchased by the case for a while now and I’ve found makerflo to be about $40 cheaper😊
@@CourtneysCustoms you’re right. I’ve only ever bought from their Etsy store. The prices on the website are cheaper.

Hi!! Whatever epoxy you use, make sure it is fda approved. I drink from tumblers very often with no straw. As long as it is fda approved, it is safe💜
You want Nitrile gloves not latex. Also Aquanet hair spray is a great sealer as well.
I’ve always used powder free latex and I like them😊 I’ll have to try the hairspray that’s pretty cool
Please don't use hair spray
