This is a great requested arm workout that helps to build biceps, triceps, shoulders, and back muscles. This is an important area to reflect on for upper body strength; as well as for wearing short sleeve tops or dresses. It is great to see the acknowledgement for the person who requested the workout. I'm doing this video on September 4th 2023 just before my lunch time so I sound like the cat! I appreciate you gals so much because I'm going to be 79 in a few weeks, and these are the ones (standing) I can do that challenge me. I know I'm getting stronger and more flexible from all the exercises of yours I do. I particularly wanted to work on my arms today, so that was why I chose this one. I also do the resistance bands and trade off. I started with one pound weights 2 years ago just doing my own exercises until I discovered RUclips. Now I'm up to 5 lb on my right arm and 3 lbs on my left. I can carry two sacks of groceries weighing a total of 22 lb with my left arm without leaning to the right. I really really appreciate that you gals have brought me this far in 8 months.

I finally tried this one after first playing and following your recent dumbbell workout "short" 4 times in a row (after starting my day with your 10-minute morning walking workout and some leg exercises). I don't know why it took me over a year to try it after so enjoying Mochi's antics in it when you first posted it. (And I did today too!😼) I'm still using 3-pound weights but hoping to try this one with 5-pound dumbbells next time.

What a marvelous arm workout! As soon as I saw it in my INBOX, I decided this would be a targeted exercise day starting with the arms. I used 5 lb. wts., and for some exercises I used 3 lbers. Lol especially the arm work out. I had gained so much weight in my arms that I thought I had to do extremely fast pace workout to tone my arms and I knew I would give up after a few attempts. You show me that I can get the same benefits at a slower pace. My arm got so big that they was getting just as fat as my legs and I was getting to ashamed to wear very short blouses. We love your spirit! A slow pace challenges your muscles by making them work rather than relying on momentum to move. Building muscle in your arms will make you stronger. Losing fat in your arms occurs at the pace that is unique to your body, helped with a healthy diet and exercise. By staying consistent with your arm workouts - at least twice a week with at least one day of rest between sessions - you will build muscle, which burns more calories than fat at the rest. The goal over time is that your arm muscle increases and fat decreases. Stay with it! We know you can do it! ❤️

I erased all of those fast over exercise workouts videos that are too fast and all I do is stare at them and know that they workout and their bodies look good but I know in my heard that my body is not ready for that and I refuse to try to kill myself to even attempt to try. We're so happy our workouts are just right for you. It is important to start moving at your level and build up strength and endurance slowly and gradually at your own pace. Listen to your body and rest when you need to during a workout and in between workouts. If you feel any pain, stop. If you feel soreness, rest until it subsides and do gentle stretching.

It is important to start moving at your fitness level. Listen to your body and build strength and stamina gradually. If you're just starting out with exercise, increase your flexibility and mobility before doing cardio and strength training to prepare your muscles. I am blind and got lost with the 2nd exercise in the first set. were they tricep kickbacks or what I call peek-a-boos, where you hold your arms in 90 degree angles starting in front of your face and open out to the side or holding the dumbbells down and pushing one back on each side? Thank you! I enjoy your workouts because I am trying to regain my strength after a bad Covid case a few years back that zapped my energy and stamina. Hi there! The second exercise works the triceps and shoulders but is not a tricep kickback. Start by holding the dumbbells vertically arms at a 90 degree angle, palm facing in; From that position, rotate your arms in so the tops of your knuckles touch -- you are still holding the dumbbells vertically and your palms are facing your body; the dumbbells are positioned in front of your chest. From here, straighten one arm so your elbow is not bent, then bring it back to the starting position. Repeat with the other arm. We hope this is helpful. Stop when you feel any pain. Rest is just as important as exercise. Do as many repetitions as you can and then rest. As we mentioned in a previous reply, allow at least one day of rest between strength sessions. Listen to your body -- if you are still sore after 1 day, then rest more.
Please tell me how to you continually work out when your muscles get sore on the next several days and it seems like you are in so much pain that you can’t life another weigh but so high and you feel,Ike giving up?
If you feel pain, stop. Soreness is a normal sign that you worked muscles that are not used to a particular activity, which is a good thing. This is progress! Rest and/or do gentle stretching and light activity until the soreness subsides. Then gently get back into the walking/cardio workouts and strength training. Rest at least one day between strength sessions. Hi April I do Strength 105 2x a week I always have sore muscles upper back between shoulder blades and upper neck I can’t swim because it hurts too much I use light weights am I doing something wrong or is it that my muscles in this area are weak thanks

This is an important area to reflect on for upper body strength; as well as for wearing short sleeve tops or dresses. It is great to see the acknowledgement for the person who requested the workout. I love these workouts! These are great. Thank you. Love the calm atmosphere and of course Mochi. I’ve been doing a lot of strength exercises and I can say I can do a push up now. Knee ones but after building more arm and shoulder strength there are a lot of things I can do without pain now.

I'm doing this video on September 4th 2023 just before my lunch time so I sound like the cat! I appreciate you gals so much because I'm going to be 79 in a few weeks, and these are the ones (standing) I can do that challenge me. I know I'm getting stronger and more flexible from all the exercises of yours I do. I particularly wanted to work on my arms today, so that was why I chose this one. I also do the resistance bands and trade off. I started with one pound weights 2 years ago just doing my own exercises until I discovered RUclips. Now I'm up to 5 lb on my right arm and 3 lbs on my left. I can carry two sacks of groceries weighing a total of 22 lb with my left arm without leaning to the right. I really really appreciate that you gals have brought me this far in 8 months.

I can only _begin_ to tell you how much I enjoyed this video! I am looking forward to trying this workout, but I also thoroughly enjoyed seeing so much of Mochi in this one. I think it's the first time I've heard his voice, and I laughed out loud at his antics a couple of times -- especially when he jumped onto the chair behind Aiko and she just kept going, unperturbed, with her workout, and then again when he went under her chair with his tail sticking up between her legs and then turned around and peeked out from underneath!😄 I hope he got a good meal when you finished the video -- he earned it!🙂💪👍

I finally tried this one after first playing and following your recent dumbbell workout "short" 4 times in a row (after starting my day with your 10-minute morning walking workout and some leg exercises). I don't know why it took me over a year to try it after so enjoying Mochi's antics in it when you first posted it. (And I did today too!😼) I'm still using 3-pound weights but hoping to try this one with 5-pound dumbbells next time.

Lol especially the arm work out. I had gained so much weight in my arms that I thought I had to do extremely fast pace workout to tone my arms and I knew I would give up after a few attempts. You show me that I can get the same benefits at a slower pace. My arm got so big that they was getting just as fat as my legs and I was getting to ashamed to wear very short blouses. I will definitely do your workouts daily and know that I can achieve the exact same results. Once again I thank you and your mom April. I love you guys lol
We love your spirit! A slow pace challenges your muscles by making them work rather than relying on momentum to move. Building muscle in your arms will make you stronger. Losing fat in your arms occurs at the pace that is unique to your body, helped with a healthy diet and exercise. By staying consistent with your arm workouts - at least twice a week with at least one day of rest between sessions - you will build muscle, which burns more calories than fat at the rest. The goal over time is that your arm muscle increases and fat decreases. Stay with it! We know you can do it! ❤️

What size weights are you guys using? I'm 74 and would like to start arm excersises.
Hi there! So excited to hear you want to strengthen your upper body! You are 74 years young! Start small with no weights or very light weights (water bottles or cans) and build up strength slowly. In this video, my mom is using 2 pound weights and I am using 5 pound weights. I erased all of those fast over exercise workouts videos that are too fast and all I do is stare at them and know that they workout and their bodies look good but I know in my heard that my body is not ready for that and I refuse to try to kill myself to even attempt to try. Lol. Just put April and her mom and I can reach the same goals and achievements. Thank God somebody got exercises easy life style right that makes sense and the rewards can be reached without killing yourself. Love y’all lol.

We're so happy our workouts are just right for you. It is important to start moving at your level and build up strength and endurance slowly and gradually at your own pace. Listen to your body and rest when you need to during a workout and in between workouts. If you feel any pain, stop. If you feel soreness, rest until it subsides and do gentle stretching.

Hi there! So proud of you for making a commitment to build muscle and get stronger! First, we always recommend checking with your doctor before starting an exercise program. It is important to start moving at your fitness level. Listen to your body and build strength and stamina gradually. If you're just starting out with exercise, increase your flexibility and mobility before doing cardio and strength training to prepare your muscles. Do as much cardio (such as our walking videos) everyday if you're able and do two strength sessions hitting all your muscle groups (upper body, lower body, core) twice a week with at least a day in between. You can do 2 full body workouts on two days or them split up. We have a wide variety of strength workouts ranging from 5 to more than 30 minutes. I am blind and got lost with the 2nd exercise in the first set. were they tricep kickbacks or what I call peek-a-boos, where you hold your arms in 90 degree angles starting in front of your face and open out to the side or holding the dumbbells down and pushing one back on each side? Thank you! I enjoy your workouts because I am trying to regain my strength after a bad Covid case a few years back that zapped my energy and stamina. Hi there! The second exercise works the triceps and shoulders but is not a tricep kickback. Start by holding the dumbbells vertically arms at a 90 degree angle, palm facing in; From that position, rotate your arms in so the tops of your knuckles touch -- you are still holding the dumbbells vertically and your palms are facing your body; the dumbbells are positioned in front of your chest. From here, straighten one arm so your elbow is not bent, then bring it back to the starting position. Repeat with the other arm. We hope this is helpful. Stop when you feel any pain. Rest is just as important as exercise. Do as many repetitions as you can and then rest. As we mentioned in a previous reply, allow at least one day of rest between strength sessions. Listen to your body -- if you are still sore after 1 day, then rest more.

Please tell me how to you continually work out when your muscles get sore on the next several days and it seems like you are in so much pain that you can’t life another weigh but so high and you feel,Ike giving up?
If you feel pain, stop. Soreness is a normal sign that you worked muscles that are not used to a particular activity, which is a good thing. This is progress! Rest and/or do gentle stretching and light activity until the soreness subsides. Then gently get back into the walking/cardio workouts and strength training. Rest at least one day between strength sessions. Does it matter when I breath esp with the weights exercises
Yes, there is a proper way to breathe during weight training exercises. Exhale as you exert a muscle (in a bicep curl as you lift) and then inhale as you relax or extend the muscle. Here is a link to more information on our website on how to breathe during exercise: bit.ly/3PTkEi4

Hi April I do Strength 105 2x a week I always have sore muscles upper back between shoulder blades and upper neck I can’t swim because it hurts too much I use light weights am I doing something wrong or is it that my muscles in this area are weak thanks
