- This is a render of the data produced by my hobby build Lidar after a scan of my back garden. I’ll hopefully have the full build video ready soon! The Lidar was built using a Garmin Lite V3, an STM32 micro-controller pair, and a Warco lathe and mill. The rendering is in Unity3D. Mechanical design was in Fusion 360, PCB design in Eagle, and PCB manufacture by PCBway.
The music can be found on audio jungle here:

Alternatively it's called "Space" and is by Sunriseman
So cool! What program do you use for collecting data, like point clouds, IMU and GPS? Can it work on drone, like UAV copter?
Reminds me of the game scanner sombre. Pretty cool stuff
That was way awesome. Went from a normal looking backyard to an eerily looking matrix backyard.
The shot music combination. 👍
That looks amazing! Any chance of a tutorial?
Hi Dylan - thanks for the comment! I’ve just about finished a video that shows how it’s all done. It’s about 20 minutes long and mainly covers the mechanics (as this is a machining channel), but also gives a high level overview of the electronics and software. If I get enough requests, I'll do another more detailed video on the electronics. Hopefully it won’t be too long before it’s ready. I’ve just got a few things to sort out and the final edit to do!
@@DavidCambridge Hi. Any update about the upload? I cant find this video.
@@zonasapiens8056 Hi - it's ruclips.net/video/KGN82vLjguI/видео.html
@@DavidCambridge thank you!
Witch lidar scan do you use?
I intended by the name of your scanner
And if you know, it's possible capture motion? Like a man walking
So strangely beautiful. Thank you!
Really cool. I'm looking forward to the build video
look brillant, , . is an amazing bit of work you have done, I'm a surveyor and am currently using a survey quality laser scanner to do some road works and your look just as good , even if the tolerance is a bit tigher on my scans, hahah.
can wait to see more.
Extremely interesting stuff.

The Matrix has been exposed. Now try to catch the agents and show us!
While watching this video, I thought I better hit the sub button so I can get more quality content like this, I was already subbed. :)
Thanks Paul - I do appreciate the feedback!
This may be off topic, but whats the name of the soundtrack? It really got me
Hi Jone - it's this

Cool.
Is you get finer detail and more points possibly if was slowed down?

So this is how Toph is such a great Earthbender...
Outstanding work as usual David.
Thanks for the comment! Apologies again for my late email reply to you - I’ve tried responding but didn’t hear back. Can I check you did get my message ?
I've heard Chemical Brothers contracted you for a video of their song
Please teach me how to build one!!!
a lot of ghost there
Amazing ! No other words
Very cool. Thanks 🙏
Fascinating project and great result - looking forward to the details. Do you need a particularly powerful computer and/or graphics card to process and manipulate the images?
Hi Ian. It needs a reasonably good graphics card, perhaps at the same level that you need to play video games.
This is incredible
Thats amazing.
Spectacular.
Really cool!
Amazing project idea, can't wait for the video of the build.
May I ask the title of the song?
Thanks for the nice comment! The music is from audio jungle. You can get to it from this URL: audiojungle.net/item/space/21449228
Omg..that 🎶...does something to me
Magnificent sir
Tron
wow :D
I will resist saying anything apart from; good-luck in your passion.
hey guys, I would like to use Lidar instead of my video surveilance system, because this one is forbidden towards public spaces. In principal I would love to use the system for the protection of my lawn, thus against dogs using my fence as their pissing ground. Surely this may sound very strange, but all what I want to do is to use are high pressure water fountains, not to harm any animal, just to scare them off, so without any video system. Do you think this can be possible with Lidar?
