Don't sit on the MIS! Hadn't touched this ship in years and took it out for a few bounties and PvP engagements and it doesn't disappoint. Slap a gunner in that god awful turret and you can handle yourself quite well.

Yeah even cooler now with Rattlers having a close range lock now. But sucks when the servers don’t cooperate and your missiles go on an exploration mission around the verse
@@armoredexpeditions Meshing should fix that when it finally comes out....SOON. That's why I rarely play anymore until those servers are more smooth.
I love the Freelancer. I hope they get a rework some day.
They were doing some work on it 4 months ago. But i think it was shelved.

That was funny. I still need to nab some Freelancer. I already love my Starfarers and Reliants. I think it would be cool to see MISC do a torpedo bomber too, just to stick with the missile theme. Im still surprised the Starfarer Gemini only gets 9 missiles with how their other fighting ships are set up.

I wish for freelancer rework tbh.
Keep cockpit, keep bladed 4x size 3 pilot ctrl'ed. Redo the wackamole cargo area for vehiche use, in/out bladed/video ctrl'ed rear turret and maybe, just maybe test out rotary engine/flaps for tighter/angular up/down axis
Rework Reliant, massive lack in design within frame rotary wing span creating large holes, god knows why (cargo... hello cargo, missiles/stock munitions auto loader, a tad more complex mechanic research spanning facility)
Freelancer desperately needs modernization. I’d ditch the 2 rear seats behind the pilots in favor of weapons/armor, or just a smaller cockpit and larger hold. It’s unfortunately one of those ships that just may be a victim of design improvements over the years and left out to pasture.
Still a blast to get in for some quick fun, but if you go against any pilot in a fighter who actually knows what they’re doing it’s gunna end poorly for you. Especially with the MIS being a missile boat, but its main missile launchers only fire 1 at a time and slowly. Can’t really compete when the dirty bird is launching 6x in rapid succession and everyone else can fire 4 at the same time.
I agree, although, I thought the MIS had 2 missiles exhaust?
Yet because it autoload, you should be able to choose 32 missiles then ship releases 1 missile, 2 if MIS has 2 missiles exhausts as soon as it/they is/are loaded
As for 2 back seats redundancy. 1 certainly is, third seat could be used... for maintaining missile lock trough 360 radar, for example. @armoredexpeditions

It is a shame that MISC does both the best cockpit view, and the worst.
Always enjoyed the cockpit, feels right for the ship type.
I think the worst is probably the Constellation series from RSI.

In that fight yes, that lightning pilot wasn’t very aggressive. But typically the pair of S2 guns does nothing more than keep target shields down

It’s an old outdated ship, but hopefully it gets a modernization pass. Still worth it though
Is this because of master modes or the pilot was just ass? Im wondering cus I havent played in a while
Little bit of A, little bit of B methinks. At best i consider myself a slightly above average pilot, nothing spectacular. In theory a lightning should punish a freelancer. But with triple shields now, it can take a beating and the gunner can keep pressure on the lightning when it gets out of the pilots LoS. All of that, plus rattlers being able to lock at 500m and essentially be used like pepper spray, make for a mean platform
I’m believe the idea is to make hiring bodyguards viable. If it’s hard to run away then there’s no choice but to fight.
Nice to see peopel intrading ships defend them selfs. I dont feel Mater modes is good for bigger ships because it traps you in combat if you try to escape you just grt blown up after having to drop your shields
Yeah there’s definitely work needed on master modes, the big ships will suffer when cargo is re introduced next patch. Even the gunners can’t fire when you’re in nav mode, odd design choice.
@@armoredexpeditions yh never got this,personally think if gunners can't fire,the noise and flairs need to be usable atleast
@@mrgas8499yup, worst part of master modes. I’m OK with the actual flight and combat now, I made peace with it. But switching to a mode that makes you defenseless is just absurd
@@armoredexpeditions yeah especially with the delay on movement and almost dsync/lag when you leave qt aswell
@@mrgas8499yeah that’s the best. Coming out of QT when a group is camping OM1 at Crusader and just sitting there, stuck, understanding that you’re about to get deleted because you can’t switch to gun mode
