Thanks for this walkthrough. I recently checked out some Bass Trackers and was all excited about low monthly payments until I saw it was a 20 year loan. At my age they better offer some life insurance if they want to get their money back.

Bought a Z17 left over from 2019. Was marked down $4,000 other than that no I wouldn’t buy from them again. Changed the electronics in the dash and it looked like a 2 year old cut it out. They washed the boat and left the plug in it and when I picked it up it was full of water. And what ever they used to wash the boat ruined the steering wheel. Warranty covered it. I would go with a local dealer next time. Very disappointed in how they chopped up my console. Lucky my son could fixed it. You are better off to go to a dealer that you trust and do your service and cover your warranty .

I'm in the process of buying a Tracker Pro 170. Almost perfect for what I need. The extra cost associated with the "bass boat personality" it mimics is worth it to me right now. It will do everything I need and comes with the basic creature comforts I want in a boat. It's new so i know it will fire up first turn. I live 500 yards from the biggest lake in my area so resale shouldn't be a huge problem later on when it's time to upgrade.

Be concerned when purchasing the proskiff 17 and the pro skiff 15 , i owned a 2019 and it came from the factory with issues in the hull , after joining the pro17/15 forum on facebook I found that most of these boats have and do eventually have hull issues . I really loved the boat , ran great with the 75hp and jack plate the draft was shallow , all i did was flats fish . I decided to sell it before any more problems occurred , just some food for thought , oh , also u need to reseal all drain plug areas , make sure the bilge is wired correctly and do a thorough walk thru and prevent maintenance . Boat is extremely stable and fun to fish out of . On the forum i tried to help people with some suggestions so they could enjoy the skiff and the proskiff forum would not allow my info and blocked me.

The back storage locker's behind the seats in the first few Trackers are storage, not live well's. If you looked at the Classic XL it is about a foot longer than the 160, comes with the 50, and tbh that "little bitty" trolling motor works perfect. Also while I did think I'd need an extra tank in my Classic the 6 gal is plenty with the 4 stroke 50. I can go several days all over the lake on one tank. For a brand new boat at 14k I love my rig, I could never afford those 30-70k rigs so that Classic XL allowed me to get on the water.

    • @TBassFactory

lol video just popped up because I have been looking at info on the Trackers, 3 years later and the boat prices have basically jumped to the next model up. the first boat you showed is now 17k, the 175 starts at around 23k and alot of the models they have in stock are 25-27k, the 190s are about 28k for the 90hp motor version, the 115hp 190 is now 30k(the one I just bought), the 195 only comes in tournament edition and is over 35k now. wish the 195 in your video was still the same price because it was exactly the size I was looking for but did not see one for under 35k anywhere near my area. I actually would have gone with that z18 if it was still that price too. the z17 I was quoted was the base model with no extras and it was 32k, didn't see any z18s under 45k within 100 miles of my area now(includes 5 shops). Wish I had been boat shopping 3 years ago.

By far the best deal they [Bass Pro] had a couple years ago. Was the Aluminum Bass Tracker CLASSIC. A throw back in style and beautiful boat for 10k. They could not keep them on the floor. Sadly it seems they have dropped it from the inventory. Another was the PANFISH special with a stick steer up front. Great little boat for family fishing boat. Again looking like it was dropped from the inventory. Bass Pro also own Ranger and the price is considerably higher...Here's a brand you might want to review WAR EAGLE boats. Very nice layout and well designed and built boat. I agree with the DIY concept. If you have the time and such to do so. But if not a prepackaged boat is a better option. Not to mention that you have the price of the individual items you plan to add on, to consider in the cost of the boat. Which is were Tracker gets you. The boats are all a set package and fixed price. You can make a few upgrades for extra cost. But the design is a "fishing ready " boat package, and a no haggle fixed price. That is pricey, but competitive.

If you ever want to upgrade your Jon boat, get yourself a Pro 175 TXW Tournament Edition with a 75 hp. That's the #1 selling boat in the USA. If you can, get white. Talk about a head turner. If money is no object, get yourself a fiberglass Nitro. Stay safe.

I own a 1648 Grizzly alweld. My experience hasn't been that great. The hull welds failed in about a dozen spots, leaks in all those spots. I've spent probably 100 hours and over a thousand dollars, buying metal, fabricating, and paying professional tig welders. If I didn't do most of the work myself I would have cut the boat up and scrapped it because it would have cost a more than the boats worth to have a dealer do the work. Tracker has alot of improvements to make before I would ever buy anything from them again.

A few other items to consider.... upgrades $$$ trolling motor, $$$ electronics, $$$ power poles, $$$ prop, .... A fiberglass boat is beautiful and that comes with a cost. Routine maintenance. You have to be vigilant about washing and waxing them or that beauty goes away quickly. So you come home from the fishing trip and add that to your schedule. Additionally the weight of a fiberglass boat limits your access to the areas you can fish. Aluminum boats are capable of accessing a wider variety of water. Always upgrade your prop or at minimum get a second prop. Nothing is worse than damaging your prop and ruining your trip. Power poles are worth the cost. Upgrades to electronic devices can get very expensive very quickly. Upgrades to the trailer brakes are a good option. Greaseable wheel bearings are a must. Trailer guides are handy, especially for dark poorly lit boat ramps. So do your homework before you get a boat. They don't hold value well and you can lose money on resale. But they are a lot of fun and enjoyable to fish from. However a 60k boat that can't get to your favorite honey hole is disappointing to say the least. Plus the routine upkeep. At the same time having a bare bones boat and none of the items you want or the time to DIY the upgrades is disappointing as well.

Not trying to discourage the joy of having a good fishing boat. But for the person who has never had a boat. You said it, do your homework and research. the 175 is worth it if you intend to take 4 people for sure and the larger more legit fuel tank, i went alone or with one person most of the time the heritage (160 pretty much) was all you needed in a boat for 2 people, never ran out of gas or even came close thing would run all day on that little tank. i personally found zero need for a trolling motor, the pedal with the cords was always in the way was annoying. i kept the livewell as a cooler just because i dont really keep much besides the last few i need for a tacos. when my buddy would bring his truck load of rods with him it would really annoy me.. had space for 4 rods plus like one or two on each side but thats too many even.. i got a shorter bass rod to use from the drivers seat that was my go to rod then id bring one or two others, but damn my one friend would bring like 12 rods and wow,, so much clutter on the boat. i sold my heritage to finance a move, ill be looking at a 170 pro or 175 . the added person allowance would be nice otherwise anything above the 175 is pretty much just extra carpet and engine size.. the heritage was a speedy little fishing boat i never needed it to go faster.
