Nope, we tried to find a flaw in the router both the hardware and software and zero issues. If there was any flaws I would have referred to them in the video. ASUS did not require us to hype the router and we wouldn't except the router unless we could be totally honest. Thank you for watching.
@@DSS553 My unit works perfectly in my location. The 6GHz range is faster but sacrifices range and that is true for any wifi6e or Wifi7 router on the market. And most end devices do not utilize the 6GHz band. Companies are starting to make 6GHz compatible devices but it's not dominant yet.
@@UltimateTechHub That's exactly the kind of info I as a viewer want from a review. After all, people looking at this particular router probably are interested in it for the E part of wifi6e, so they should be warned that it's not gonna work for most of their devices and locations, since a wall can be enough to block the 6Ghz signal. But I'm just being grumpy, your video isn't bad, very well made, I'm just tired of all the "reviews" out there that are really just someone listing the product features. I'm kind of picky with routers. This one checks all the marks. Upgraded my old Wifi 5 Asus router to this one and it's been solid and fast. Added bonus with Asus is I got to add the old one as a mesh node very easily.
I just replaced my old netgear nighthawk R6700 (which still performs like a champ) with this and I'm getting pretty frequent dropped signals. It reconnects pretty quickly but still kind of annoying.
When you unboxed it I thought it was one of those roomba vacuum cleaners ! However it looks like this one doesnt "suck" (huh huh huh), great bit of kit.....thanks for the video Vegas Mike ! :-)
Waiting till the new iMac comes out which will have this Wifi 6e thing and then looking to get this router to replace my Linksys EA9500. The router is excellent and has no reason to really upgrade, just want to be able to get the max amount of output for the new machine. Great review by the way, I have this order saved for when the time comes.
I am going from 1gb fiber to 2gb. I currently have a ziply fiber router (kinda sucks) and a deco m5 mesh. If I buy this router do I need a new mesh system or is it built in? Saving money isn’t the objective. I also work from home and also have a ring security system with 9 outdoor cameras. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
This router should work great with 2gig fiber. This router has its own AI Mesh system so you can purchase additional ASUS compatible routers to work as one large mesh network. I have 6 PoE cameras plus other additional wireless cameras and the video streaming is fast and consistent. I highly recommend this router. Keep me posted and thank you for watching.
Are you talking about a better router with fewer ports? I have the RT-AC88U router which has eight land ports (I use all of them). This new ASUS router RT-AXE7800 you are speaking of has way fewer lan ports (3) which is a far cry from what I have. How am I suppose to replace with this one?
I have a 10 port PoE Switch connected to it. That gives me 3 plus 10 ports. Most routers only have the 4 LAN ports. It's still a very good router. Thank you for watching!
Your doing your wireless Speedtest wrong on your phone that only the way you did it just test the speed to the router Also this router isn’t great for 6e speeds I get better speeds with 5ghz 160mhz frequency than I did with 6e so I returned it and got the gt -ax6000 which has much better range than the 7800
This is true. That internet speed tester is purely from the router to the isp. This is not your actually wifi speeds. I just got one today, and I thought my wifi speeds would be much better. But I'm only getting 100-150 from about 20ft away. I'm not sure what's wrong here. I thought I'd be getting 600+ on a 1gb connection. I had an old cheap 6e router that was giving the same speeds. What gives?
Is there a way to connect this to pc like wan or lan cable from pc to the router whould that work and the dc supply in a outlit can that work because i want to buy this
@Akismingus Yes you can connect the router to your PC via the LAN port on the router. I think it's on sale too so check my Amazon link in the description.
Thank you so if I just want it for my pc I just connect the lan cable from the router to my pc and then can I use the router as a normal router like other people can connect to the internet or I'm I the only one that can use the router
Good day, I would like you to confirm 2 router processes, (1) by having 2 wan ports you can connect 2 network cables to the same provider's router and have more bandwidth or they must comply with the 801 3ad protocol. (2). If you enable the QoS, the bandwidth limited mode, the speed of the network, both wired and WiFi, drops by half of the contracted speed when performing a speed test from the connected devices. I hope you can perform the tests and you can confirm thanks
Hi sir i have my ethernet cable but my pc port is constantly showing orange and blinking amber light and i am getting only 2MB speed instead of full 20MB i would be grateful if u replied
You can unplug your ethernet and restart your PC. Then plug the Ethernet back in. If that doesn't work you can reset your NIC. Keep me posted and thanks for watching!
All your speed tests are internet speed tests. Even with 1gb internet, your internet remains your bottleneck with such a router, meaning such tests are kinda meaningless. You'll end up with the same results even with a lower spec router (as long as the router doesn't go below 1gb). A router is not all about internet. It powers local networks which typically operate at a much higher speed than an internet connection. Let's say, for example, you want to remote play your PS5 on your local network or you want to play PCVR games wirelessly with a headset like the Quest 2 or 3. The quality of the streaming and the responsiveness of the games will have nothing to do with your internet. That's where the maximum potential of your router comes into play and when you would likely need a router like this one. You should have included local network speed test to showcase the limitation of the router itself, independently from ISP constraints. An other significant test you could've included is how well the router handles multiple WIFI devices at once. This is also a triband router. So, you could've done tests on each of its supported frequencies, to see whether the router lives up to its proclaimed specifications and under which conditions. The range test would've been more useful if you included more context. In short, this is not a review. It's an ad.
Which one will u recommend this or the rt-ax86u pro, as a more complete device(range, performance, etc.)? Planning on getting one of them, hardware on ax86 is better but this one is wifi6e basically
The wires speed test for the PS5 is about the max a PS5 can achieve. PS5 doesn't need anything faster for gaming or streaming. All my wired PCs get 940 up and down. Thanks for watching.
@@UltimateTechHub thanks for the reply. I only just updated my internet from 30mbps to 1 gig and the apple routers I have on wife do about 180. I only tested the speed on the Xbox through the cat 6 which gave me 600. I wonder if it had a similar cap to the PS5.
