The backing vocalists are meshing with the kazakh instrument _qobyz_ , that is on the music track. In the initial performance in another location, the qobyz player was on stage with Dimash and people could actually see the instrument being played. The sound of that instrument is gorgeous, and it`s part of several songs of Dimash, as a way of showcasing the kazakh culture. Cool part is, Dimash can actually imitate the sound, and a few times, during a more painful kazakh song, he gently wailed in the sound of qobyz. Dimash actually co-directed the music video too, it`s filmed in Kazakhstan, and it`s quite impactful. But if you`re only going to watch one version, I think it`s worth seeing him living this song on stage. It`s the most personal and raw performance of his, that can`t even be called "performance". As a performer in an independent band you may appreciate the fact that Dimash also is an independent artist. He works together with producers but doesn't wat to commit to one producer or label, because he wants 100% creative freedom and control on what he composes/sings/plays (multi instrumentalist) en when/where/how he does it. His dad, Kanat, manages their own creative center called "Dimashali".
Hola. Quizá lo había mencionado antes, pero si tienes razón. Dimash es un chico muy profesional y disciplinado, él ha manifestado que práctica 3 horas diarias. Él inició en la música a los 5 años, cuando empezó con clases de piano y de canto. Sus padres notaron su talento y lo ayudaron y apoyaron, luego sus profesores indicaron que él tiene oído absoluto. A hoy, el tiene casi 30 años, que cumple el 24 de mayo, tiene licenciatura con especialidad en canto lírico, y contemporáneo, además cuenta con una maestría en composición, y está con su doctorado en musicología. Él habla sus idiomas natales, Kasajo y ruso, y también inglés. Ha cantado en más de 10 idiomas entre ellos italiano, francés, español, turco, chino (tiene muchas canciones en este idioma,) y otros. However, aside from that I don't think the vocal quality of this was as good as the New Wave version overall - after all, Dimash was sick when he sang this version. His voice was weaker in several parts, compared to the NW version, and he couldn't sustain the final note for the full length like he did at NW. But this is even more amazing, because he was sick! And the incredible melisma section makes it an absolutely indispensable version. There are several other great versions also, fancams from various dates in the Stranger tour, but none of the ones I saw contained the melisma section, they were all more similar to the New Wave version. I guess I agree that the melismas are the best lol. Cheers!❤️

He runs through 5 octaves (C2-F6) soft, DEEP, high, crazy modulations and two beautiful melismas (18.57 sec/ 17:05 sec)….to finish on a sustained note of madness in 19 seconds (F#5)… the best singer in the world………

He was not feeling well. Could barely pronounce the English words and couldn't quite hold out at the end. But...those vocalizations are amazing. His New Wave Stranger performance is steller. Story of One Sky live performance at Almaty. I prefer the Vietnam fan cam version. It's less slick but more real watching Dimash as he delivers this 9 minute vocal tour de force. It's about war and the death of innocents. The mantra is "we are choosing life". Dimash does 3 hour concerts of incredible singing. No drugs or stimulents. Just pure passion for what he does. Your band sounds professional and radio ready. Go for it.
Not vovode, it's not the choir. It's an instrument, a Kobyz, a Kazakh folk instrument with a 5,000 year history. It has 2 strings traditionally made from horsehair and played with a bow. It's sounds so beautiful. BTW Dimash was very sick during this performance, but still gave it 1,000% ❤ That's something you have in common with Dimash. He is a totally independent artist, he has a worldwide fanbase and fans travel from around the globe to his huge concerts in big stadiums. I am going from the UK to Istanbul next week for his 30th birthday concert. It will be more epic than ever I think. He has no producers, he does all his own music production and composes a lot of his songs. He also worked with other composers on a trust basis. No contracts. He gets invited to participate in many musical causes that are dear to his heart and helps young musicians with their careers. He has had offers to make him an even bigger star than he already is but he always turns them down. He wants to remain totally free to do whatever music he wants. Be careful with contracts, they might just bleed you dry, stay free ❤

You're right brother, they are both unique and magnificent. Because Dimash was sick during this performance, he was a little bit weaker in some parts and couldn't hold the last note as long. But it doesn't matter - because of the incredible melismas, this version is so great & the most unique!! And the NW version is so perfect! I also saw fancams from different dates of the Stranger tour that were more similar to the NW performance, and equally magnificent! It's just that we got the deluxe audio/visual production with the NW. Yes, to me, I've never seen a Dimash performance that was anything less than magnificent, it's an understatement but I don't know any better words lol. Cheers bro!😊

Thank you for your reaction. As previously mentioned, you should check out the New Wave version of this song. Since he was sick here, there were several times near the end where he was out of breath. The New Wave version is definitely worth watching on your own time.
From what I read he was even a little sick here. Left the show shortly after. We have seen him sing sick more than once. Do a concert in the pouring rain etc.

Dimash’s “New Wave” version of Stranger is the one to watch - it’s a fantastic production featuring chorus singers and Igor Krutoy (composer of the song) at the piano and Olzhas Kurmanbek, master Kobyz player. FYI, Dimash was suffering from Sinusitis and had to leave the show after the performance for treatment - still an incredible performance. This performance was from his time on the all male teams Chinese reality TV competition Shine or Follow The Light Super Brothers in 2022.🙏🏻🇦🇺

Dimash lives his music when he performs He takes you with him, on top of that he plays with dimensions and a whole variety of dynamics. He was really nervous when he was backstage with the other contestants, all the other singers were mostly Chinese so he was left out of a lot of inside jokes, but when he went to the stage it blew everyone away. Dimash is One of a kind.
He was really ill with this version and needed treatment straight afterwards, so I'll give it a miss as I hate seeing him trying to perform while so ill. New Wave version is much better.
I think most singer get a bit jelly of his skill. Everyone can learn to sing, not everyone can do what he does. Some people are just born with a better instrument from the start.
I definitely agree that the New Wave version is my preferred, but that’s a personal opinion. Most likely the video was blocked for so long was because it came from Shine the TV show from China, anything from the Chinese shows tends to get blocked and for longer time periods. As far as your song, I love your tone, it almost sounds like you’re from Britain or Scotland, possibly the way your vowels are shaped, I definitely wouldn’t have thought from the Midwest of the US, that’s definitely a compliment, in case you were wondering. It's the first time he actually admitted to being ill in an interview because of the filming carrying on without him there it looked like he wasn't being picked for any of the teams and the Dears were outraged. Therefore a public statement had to be made.
He’s accessing those low bass notes a lot more easily these days, and it’s really cool to see him riffing through the trill part, then playing with his false vocal folds, and THEN going into a whistle note. GEEZ. He was definitely in good voice that night. Great reaction-and I loved the track at the end.

Aloha! I certainly agree that the most impressive things is not only his easy transitions through the registers but that his performance of te songs on stage is spot on! Dimash truly feels the lyrics he sings or the spirit of the song, he fully bleeds on stage! Another group that I think you would love is Forestella; a S. Korean quartet that are the masters or harmonies and doing their unique spins on covers. Checkbout their Queen Bohemian Rhapsody, Legends Never Die, Bad Romance, Despacito. You will have fun going down their rabbit whole I am guessing. But Dimash is in a league all his own; he is the choir, band, special effects along with various ethnic colours to boot! Check out his Screaming - Idol hits which is live. Or his Story of One Sky (Almaty Concert). The first for his interaction with his audience and the second is his commitment to his masterpiece! There was another live concert where he was performing in the pouring rain like his fans!

However, aside from that I don't think the vocal quality of this was as good as the New Wave version overall - after all, Dimash was sick when he sang this version. His voice was weaker in several parts, compared to the NW version, and he couldn't sustain the final note for the full length like he did at NW. But this is even more amazing, because he was sick! And the incredible melisma section makes it an absolutely indispensable version. There are several other great versions also, fancams from various dates in the Stranger tour, but none of the ones I saw contained the melisma section, they were all more similar to the New Wave version. I guess I agree that the melismas are the best lol. Cheers!❤️

Story of One Sky live performance at Almaty. I prefer the Vietnam fan cam version. It's less slick but more real watching Dimash as he delivers this 9 minute vocal tour de force. It's about war and the death of innocents. The mantra is "we are choosing life".
Dimash does 3 hour concerts of incredible singing. No drugs or stimulents. Just pure passion for what he does.

Not vovode, it's not the choir. It's an instrument, a Kobyz, a Kazakh folk instrument with a 5,000 year history. It has 2 strings traditionally made from horsehair and played with a bow. It's sounds so beautiful. BTW Dimash was very sick during this performance, but still gave it 1,000% ❤
That's something you have in common with Dimash. He is a totally independent artist, he has a worldwide fanbase and fans travel from around the globe to his huge concerts in big stadiums. I am going from the UK to Istanbul next week for his 30th birthday concert. It will be more epic than ever I think. He has no producers, he does all his own music production and composes a lot of his songs. He also worked with other composers on a trust basis. No contracts. He gets invited to participate in many musical causes that are dear to his heart and helps young musicians with their careers.
He has had offers to make him an even bigger star than he already is but he always turns them down. He wants to remain totally free to do whatever music he wants. Be careful with contracts, they might just bleed you dry, stay free ❤

You're right brother, they are both unique and magnificent. Because Dimash was sick during this performance, he was a little bit weaker in some parts and couldn't hold the last note as long. But it doesn't matter - because of the incredible melismas, this version is so great & the most unique!! And the NW version is so perfect! I also saw fancams from different dates of the Stranger tour that were more similar to the NW performance, and equally magnificent! It's just that we got the deluxe audio/visual production with the NW. Yes, to me, I've never seen a Dimash performance that was anything less than magnificent, it's an understatement but I don't know any better words lol. Cheers bro!😊

Thank you for your reaction. As previously mentioned, you should check out the New Wave version of this song. Since he was sick here, there were several times near the end where he was out of breath. The New Wave version is definitely worth watching on your own time.
From what I read he was even a little sick here. Left the show shortly after. We have seen him sing sick more than once. Do a concert in the pouring rain etc.

Dimash’s “New Wave” version of Stranger is the one to watch - it’s a fantastic production featuring chorus singers and Igor Krutoy (composer of the song) at the piano and Olzhas Kurmanbek, master Kobyz player.
FYI, Dimash was suffering from Sinusitis and had to leave the show after the performance for treatment - still an incredible performance.
This performance was from his time on the all male teams Chinese reality TV competition Shine or Follow The Light Super Brothers in 2022.🙏🏻🇦🇺

Dimash lives his music when he performs He takes you with him, on top of that he plays with dimensions and a whole variety of dynamics. He was really nervous when he was backstage with the other contestants, all the other singers were mostly Chinese so he was left out of a lot of inside jokes, but when he went to the stage it blew everyone away. Dimash is One of a kind.
He was really ill with this version and needed treatment straight afterwards, so I'll give it a miss as I hate seeing him trying to perform while so ill. New Wave version is much better.

I definitely agree that the New Wave version is my preferred, but that’s a personal opinion. Most likely the video was blocked for so long was because it came from Shine the TV show from China, anything from the Chinese shows tends to get blocked and for longer time periods.
As far as your song, I love your tone, it almost sounds like you’re from Britain or Scotland, possibly the way your vowels are shaped, I definitely wouldn’t have thought from the Midwest of the US, that’s definitely a compliment, in case you were wondering. Thank you for sharing ❤.

It's the first time he actually admitted to being ill in an interview because of the filming carrying on without him there it looked like he wasn't being picked for any of the teams and the Dears were outraged. Therefore a public statement had to be made.
He’s accessing those low bass notes a lot more easily these days, and it’s really cool to see him riffing through the trill part, then playing with his false vocal folds, and THEN going into a whistle note. GEEZ. He was definitely in good voice that night.

At the end of 2021, Dimash attended an event in China called: Shine! Super Brothers S2. The Chinese reality show in which male artists, singers, dancers and actors formed teams and faced challenges together. Dimash wanted to test his team spirit. The participants had to solve some tasks during the week and also had to prepare a performance. There, singers had to dance and actors or dancers also had to sing. Dimash had to learn and perform songs with his group (not all participants were singers). The results are great performances.
But Dimash had to leave his team prematurely for health reasons. (His rhinitis was very bad and he couldn't breathe properly.)

It's not why he changed it, he was seriously sick so had to sing what he was capable of at the time which is why the final note is so much weaker than the original version

Aloha! I certainly agree that the most impressive things is not only his easy transitions through the registers but that his performance of te songs on stage is spot on! Dimash truly feels the lyrics he sings or the spirit of the song, he fully bleeds on stage! Another group that I think you would love is Forestella; a S. Korean quartet that are the masters or harmonies and doing their unique spins on covers. Checkbout their Queen Bohemian Rhapsody, Legends Never Die, Bad Romance, Despacito. You will have fun going down their rabbit whole I am guessing. But Dimash is in a league all his own; he is the choir, band, special effects along with various ethnic colours to boot! Check out his Screaming - Idol hits which is live. Or his Story of One Sky (Almaty Concert). The first for his interaction with his audience and the second is his commitment to his masterpiece! There was another live concert where he was performing in the pouring rain like his fans!

Is really Impressive what he can do with his voice as an instrument. A unique performance. He is a master mixing the middle east techniques that are incredible complex with the bel canto in all the styles. And the red light when he says Ascolta la Voce (listen to the voice), in the deepest voice i ever heard.
