Thank you Paul, this lifestyle is not for everybody. But for me, I love the simple life having no stress and just waking up in nature every morning. Life is good Living the dream.
Thanks man I still got a big learning curve. Still trying to get the color management down. This was a test run for the Fly Fishing. I think I’m gonna be able to do some killer Fly Fishing videos this year with the new camera.
Absolutely stunning photography!! You are capturing some incredible sights with the new camera. You have the artist’s eye. Glad you got to fish in the desert and tie some flies. Sometimes it is just good to go through the motions and get a line wet. It’s still a few months until you can get to the good fishing streams. Thank you for sharing the beauty. Enjoy, enjoy…Karen
Hey Karen thank you so much for the complement, I am loving this new camera, but I still got a lot of things to learn . it did feel so good just to be in the water and just do some Fly Fishing. Catching a fish is just an added bonus.
Omg that is the most beautiful desert area that I have seen posted on a video. Wow I would love to visit it one day. Thanks as always for sharing and maybe better luck next time fishing 🎣
This place is pretty cool, I have been in a lot more amazing places in Arizona. I will be documenting a lot more beautiful places here in Arizona before I make my migration up north.
Love the badlands jeep shirt! I recognize that. Crazy that there’s a river in the dessert? Pretty. Nice job capturing the green and birds and nature in the desert!
Any time in the water throwing a fly is great even if you are not catching. My time to fish is still a long way off. Beautiful camping spots. Stay safe..
Getting out on the water and just throwing a fly it’s what it’s all about. This was a test run for the new camera. Hoping to make some killer videos Fly Fishing up north again.
Always love your videos, John (especially when you're fishing). But I've also been appreciating following your journey in how you make your videos. Your addition of the lavalier mic and color editing have really elevated your vids. And then watching this video, when I got to the shot of you sitting on your tailgate at around 4:07, I thought, "That's really artful framing... like professional level!" Well done!
Thanks man I really appreciate it. I have been putting in a lot of work to up my game making these videos. I still have a lot to learn and hopefully each video is gonna get better. I’m hoping to make some killer Fly Fishing videos this year.
That is a beautiful campsite. Too many people trying to fish the Salt River but getting out and getting the line wet is always a pleasure. Keep on keeping on!
I am just using a polarizing filter and a neutral density filter. Still working on the color management in my new software. There will definitely be a pretty cool super bloom this year.
Hey Alex, you gotta get your ass out of that state. it looks like Phoenix Arizona is becoming like New Jersey. Everything is crazy expensive including apartments.
Hey Jim i’m always having a blast out here. I have fish many rivers up north that have trout and carp in it. I have tried pretty hard, but I’ve never caught a carp on my fly rod yet.
I traveled from Minnesota to AZ. Fishing the Salt river area until this sunday. Let me know if you want to meet up. I have an off road camper for dispersed camping. Tim
Hey Tim, sorry I’m not in the area anymore. I hung around there for about a week and got itchy and I had to move again. I saw plenty of carp swimming in the water.
Great to see you firing up the internet again. Next time you are at that stream, fish for the carp with flies. It's a blast to tag one of those babies. Like hooking a tractor-trailer.
I have fished many lakes and streams that were full of carp. I tried like hell, but I’ve never caught one on a fly rod yet. Hopefully I can change that this year. Hopefully I’ll will get it on video too.
@@overthehillandoverthemount2925 Search the internet for a fly called the green weenie. Put a tiny split shot on and 15 inches above the fly. It is all sight fishing. The carp have to be feeding (mucking along the bottom. They will be attracted to the 'plop' of the fly if it is cast about 3 feet ahead of them. Wait till you see your line twitch, then set the hook. Where does a fifteen-pound carp go when he is hooked? Anywhere he wants to.
@@nonewherelistens1906 I would’ve never thought of using that for a Carp fly. I think I would like to tie it up, but not use the tungsten bead, but put eyes on it instead.
Hey John,, liked your video. Viseo quality is very good , color is very saturated. Enjoyed having dinner with you at the Fish Market. That campsite is really pretty and reminds me of Kofa Natl Wildlife Preserve. I cant figure out why you didn't yank the cactus out of the cow's nose. She looked very tame to me.
Hey Alan still got a big learning curve with the new camera. I know a lot of the shots were a little bit too much saturated with color. Kofa is another amazing place to camp with great views. It was very tempting to pull that cactus out but those horns were a little bit too big for me.
Man… Horny visitors and getting your pole wet all in the same video lol. Glad to see you enjoying yourself as always John. Always looking forward to the next my friend.
This place is a joke. Filled with thousands of floaters in the summer and plenty of people fishing for the 50 stocked trout they put in every month or two in fall and spring winter, etc. Plenty of suckers, human and fishy! Better off going hiking. You even have to purchase a park pass to park there.. No thanks. John I dont know how you stay in a positive mood while there but good on you! Now if you go out to Bartlett Lake and turn south just before the dam and explore the river coming out then you may have a chance at some decent fishing altho I'm not sure if there are trout in there as I've never fished it but always thought I might. It's a whole lot less crowded out there. Be sure to stock up on supplies in Cave Creek or off the I-17 at Happy Valley exit as its slim picking for supplies out there. Good luck if you decide to go. Maybe I'll run into you in Southern Idaho this year as I'm always up there around the times you are.
You are definitely right. When I first got there I definitely said holy crap, This place is a joke and I had to pay $12 to park. All this this place was was they fishing fix and I was just happy to get my fly line wet. With the lifestyle I live, you always have to be cheerful and happy. Just a couple more months here in the desert before I start heading up north to do some real Fly Fishing again. Somewhere in May I’m hoping to be on the Southfork of the Boise River in Idaho and then after that, making my way up into Canada again. Hopefully I will have some good video of that.

Wow that campsite is awesome 👏🏻 . It is good to see you enjoy your coffee, your beer and fishing 👍🏻
Almost 5 years on the road now and I’m still the happiest I’ve ever been. I just love this lifestyle.
I admire you so much John. A fellow NJ boy living a dream that so many of us aspire to. Beautiful scenery as always. Keep rockin!

Wow those post-storm views and sky are totally amazing
The scenery was amazing with those storms clouds
Looking good Sir. Thanks for the video
Thanks man. I still got a lot to learn, but each video is getting better.
New camera is working great!! Always like the fly fishing!!

Beautiful area.
I love this spot, this will become one of my favorites in the desert.
Wow John, those cacti are stunning with the sunrise!!!!
Hey jeff that early morning sun just makes the cactus glow it’s pretty awesome.
Beautiful photography!👏🏽
Thank you I appreciate it.
Beautiful campsite!
Yes, it was, now it’s one of my best places to camp.
Hey John, you are truly living the dream my friend. Tight lines 🍻🌞☮️🎸🎼🎣😎
Thanks man, life is good. Can’t wait to get back up north, and be on a real trout stream again.
Even though you got skunked it looks like it was a really nice spot to be in the water fishing for a day
Anytime you’re in the water Fly Fishing it’s always a good day. Yep, it’s not about always catching fish.
This place is amazing! I’ve got the Salt on my list. Need to see the wild horses. Thanks for a fun video John.
Hey Pam, I did not get to see any wild horses. I know they are around there.

Wow beautiful scenery and love ur new friends 😂
Hey Diane this place is pretty amazing. Every place I go I have friends like that coming into my campsite. Hope to see you out west again.
Awesome 🤙🏽
Thank you I appreciate it
