When it comes to British sports cars, people go for Jaguar, Lotus, etc.
But for me, I think TVR is where it's really at.

I’d agree with you on that one, TVR’s have always been more outrageous, experimental and arguably beautiful

As a teen in the UK I always craved a TVR finally owned a S2 in Toronto back in the mid 90 ‘s , First time I took it for a serious drive in the country managed to achieve a 360 spin which was a major lesson in driving . Was constantly being yelled at while driving around Toronto “ what are you driving “ loved the car easy to maintain biggest issue was having to be so careful when parking as the front end was always subject to possible “ taps” on the concrete parking spacers . Never drove it October to March so I doubt if I put on 5,000 k in the 5 year ownership which was kinda silly but fulfilled a childhood dream .

I had an S3C for 4-5 years. Fabulous fun, reliable and I enjoyed tinkering with it. I still have Steve Heath’s book which is brilliant. Always sounded fabulous but its problem was that it was not directionally stable. To keep it straight required constant small corrections and I felt it could bite in the wet. The E34 525i I got afterwards was probably a faster car point to point as it was so stable and accessible with good grip levels and predictable handling.

I’m sure it was full of character though!

@@automationvisuals7867 So much so. I used to go away for long periods and when I got back I would fire it up and take it out. I remember some white fluff getting blasted up out of the exhaust as I blipped the throttle😂 Literally clearing the lungs!

      I have an S3,
& It's scary in the wet & doesn't handle bumps in the road very well either. Immense fun though & very exciting.

H15 VBS which is shown in the film, was featured at Motorfair 1991. Driven by Michelle Newman of Top Gear. H15 VBS was also featured in various publicity shots, also featured in the September 1991 edition of Autocar and Motor, Performance Car, Fast Lane magazines. December 1991 TVR Engineering decided to sell the car. The registration number was changed to H197DFR. In 2000 I bought the car. I still have the car which has been restored. Some history of a V8s. A history file as long as my arm!!

Wow! When you search up 'TVR V8S' online, or in most classic car books for that matter, H15 VBS is the result. What a beautiful beast, thank you for sharing its amazing story... I'm sure you'll carry on taking good care of it😄

I know that TVR is a monolith of reliability, but I still want one, unfortunately we never got these in the U.S. Early Grifiiths' are my soft spot for TVR, would love to get my hands on one and put a more reliable but comparable engine in it, I would be the idiot to try to daily drive it at that point.

The V8 is a better car all round than the V6. More powerful & handles better.
