I mean, going offscale works pretty well if you know what you are doing, so the notes can end up on the darker places.
Chromatic movements can bring a lot of life and flavour to your mix. That said, definitely learn your basic scales and chords, just don't limit yourself if you find a sharpened 5th or flat 4 expressing more what you want to hear.
Change your scale then if you pro
what a stupid comment. this short was obviously not intended for experts. so chill tf out chopin
This is the first in the series of shorts on this channel. I will not be putting all of them in the subscription feed because there is a lot of them. So check back on the channel to see them all 👌
I almost left a backhanded comment along the lines of
"It's almost like staying in key works better" but then I remember that I started learning FL a week ago after being a trained musician for over a decade (and using MuseScore since it's familiar in terms of layout and being notation based) and still don't know what all them fancy buttons are up top and didn't know i could actually highlight scales/keys and have been doing it all by ear
You can right click to keep window open? Why am i only learning this now 😂😂
Exactly 👌😁
You can also ungroup the stamp tool generated chords by selecting them and hitting alt+G
Same here I have been fighting with it 😅
such a simple tip but really impactful thank you man
The fact I literally made this method myself on the piano to help memorize patterns for my melodys
This is the best video I have ever seen, never knew about this before, and I was litterally amazed at how I thought the darker notes were just dark because the keys were black, and realized that it was on c major by default.
u srs? almost ANY Chords video says this. i mean ANY
The lengths people will go to to avoid learning basic music theory
Lol
Damn right
Music theory is damm complicated
Music theory trivializes asinine videos like this. Literally everything in this video is a roundabout and overly complicated way to do the same things you can do instinctively after literally an hour of basic reading about scales and chords.
Literally all you have to do to do everything done in this video is learn the major scale and basic triad construction, and you don't have to memorize anything else. Not to mention that one of the first things he says is "never use the dark notes" which is idiotic because music is rarely ever strictly diatonic.
Music theory is infinitely less complicated than this shit, which does nothing but limit your creativity
@@borborleetunes Basic theory is very simple. Trying to remember all these tips and tricks is harder than learning basic theory.
Sick tips!
Thank you Gru from Despicable Me for the tutorial about how to structure piano chords inside of FL Studio
And they say that it's music theory that limits your creativity...
Yes, for a beginner adventuring through all 12 keys at the same time is hard, but advising to NEVER do it is straight up bad advice.
thank you so much
❤radhe radhe thanks

*_upright short = visual mort_* 😉
P.S.: It is much easier to turn a smartphone than a heavy screen. 👈
P.P.S.: How about a second YT channel only for shorts?
how to like use the pat with song? how to mix up both i am new at this
👍🍀
why for some reason for me there is no "major" button there
I have that problem too, can anyone help?
@@ItsSalvatoreso i found out , its fixed for me , just go to scale highlighting and its " Major (ionian)" it's that
i have seeing people using the dark notes but what could that be and how do we do it
Circle of fifths. Sometimes it does sound off and its called "dissonance". U can use it sometimes
Bro if you’re in Natural minor chord scale, check other minor scales for same note and then use the dark notes of your main minor scale
For example i always write my melodies in D minor and when i do it; A Major chord is not fitting the scale but some how it sounds so good, when i check the arabian minor scale; i see that one dark note fits the scale in arabian notes
You can convert this trough other scales, compare 2 different minor scales of same note and find the uncommon notes, they’ll work
I dont see a “Generate Chrod Progression” option on my screen, do you have to download it separately?
Best advice. Learn music theory, Ear train and learn the number system. That's the real sauce. All this other method stuff is for the worms
precciate it
i dont see scale highlighting im not seeing most of the settings there
you have to be on piano roll
thanks man

Just learn music theory
Well it's kinda hard to get the hang of it, isn't it?
@@bumblebitch9981 not really. There are tons of 20 minute tutorials that would teach you the basics and the fun thing is you can learn even more after that. like how to use the notes in the dark spots
@@happypantsfilmmaker1797 still tho some people just don't have the time. Personally I don't have enough time for it. I got school and sports already that take up a lot of my time. For now I just stick to these little tricks. They work so no harm made
@@bumblebitch9981 if you have time to make music you have time to learn about it and again it doesnt take more than 20 minutes at most. And trust me, it is harming your development as a producer/songwriter.
@@happypantsfilmmaker1797 can you please suggest me a video covering the whole music theory...
Use scale lock, new feature....
New?
So does this only work in D major? Slightly confused
SEGAAAAAAA
If you're on a newer version it's now below view under "Helpers"
I see two notes highlighted
Is this fl 20?
you will never be able to build rnbish chords like this
And then I make a track, show it to people and have them say "wtf is this chord progression? this doesn't work at all"
I'm not fully tone deaf (maybe I just need ear training and to learn an instrument) but I don't really have a feel for writing progressions.
You gotta know what you like/want to hear
Huh? I’m still confused
pls learn music theory instead
How can someone change from the Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do piano scale to the normal A B C notes on the piano scale of fl studio
And why is this a thing, i'm con
