    I have 2700 miles of 90+% single track on my Rise M10. I use my range extender on rides over 2000 ft. of climbing. My wife has an M20. We found the same thing. She did not need the range extender because she is so much lighter.
    Absolutely no problems with the bikes. Bulletproof.
    I just bought a new wheelset. My factory wheelset needs some work and is a little flexy. I plan on using 2 wheelsets. One with heavy tires for the super rocky trails (central Colorado) and one lighter set for blue/green trails.

      I only have one wheel set, but I use the Cush Core inserts. The add the same weight as tubes but give a lot of rim and bead break protection in rocky, footy terrain which is primarily what we do.

    I like Mine Dave.and im over 200lbs now still losing but I only use it for longer rides as i have never run the battery down so far i think 40 miles or so with a couple of thousand feet of climbing it would do no problem, and it also depends on what modes you are using... I also spray some silicone on the connection to make it easier to twist and lock wish we could run this setup and incorporate lights off of this!

    Thanks for the update I was a little concerned as I am considering a Rise and perhaps in the future the range extender as it is a geat option.

    There's two clips on the bottle cage for the wire going from the extender to the frame

    Nice review, can you named the APP where you can see the exact battery level in %? Thx

    Great to see some extender experience, I'm on the verge of buying one. Still happy with it a year later? The one thing the Rise H 2022 drives me crazy with is a creaking linkage, I can't seem to silence.. Considering the Cascade linkage with preload set, but prefer to put my money in the extender. Are your bikes still silent?

      We love the range extenders, they take away our range anxiety when we’re out exploring, or meeting up with others for an unknown big ride. They work seamlessly with the bike. As for the creaking, one of our bikes does it occasionally, but we keep the suspension well lubricated.

    I’ve been using mine on my M10 for 20 months no issues. I would advise you to push the extender cable into the 2 profiles on the side to keep it neat and avoid potentially catching it when pedaling.

      @@travelzactive Definitely great advice to clamp the cable into the mounts.....probably would have prevented the battery getting ripped off the first time.

    I have had a question ask..
    When the extender runs out and nearly, does the bike drop in assistance until it switches across to main battery?

      Hi Clay, in our experience, it is a seamless transition.

    Does the Shimano handlebar display give any info on the range extender charge level?

    • @travelzactive
      @travelzactive  Год назад +1

      Yes. The display will show all 5 lights on (full charge). As it is depleted one light will go out, then the second light briefly which means the extender is depleted. Then all five go on again if the main battery is charged up. I never used the extender after depleting the main battery, but I assume the display would gain 2 additional lights when the extender is plugged in..

      @@travelzactive great thanks for the reply, considering getting the SC-EM800 display for better info whilst riding.
