This is the place I first tried mountain biking, back in the early ’80s. These days, the trails are better, our equipment is better, and the views - they’re still fantastic.

Great to see some extender experience, I'm on the verge of buying one. Still happy with it a year later? The one thing the Rise H 2022 drives me crazy with is a creaking linkage, I can't seem to silence.. Considering the Cascade linkage with preload set, but prefer to put my money in the extender. Are your bikes still silent?
We love the range extenders, they take away our range anxiety when we’re out exploring, or meeting up with others for an unknown big ride. They work seamlessly with the bike. As for the creaking, one of our bikes does it occasionally, but we keep the suspension well lubricated.
How long was your ride? Any idea on elevation climbed? Looks lovely
We were there for about 3 hours including view breaks. There’s a link in the description below (click on more) to the route on Trailforks and it will tell you the distance and elevation and climb. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello from Ouray, Colorado!! Thank you for this awesome video! New subscriber now. What an awesome area! I took my boss to Reno a couple of years ago. I had a hotel downtown.....and probably am the only person in the world that has no clue what is downtown Reno. I spent my whole time there exploring down Hwy 395. I look forward to bringing my dog and wife next time in our travel trailer and spending some time.
So glad you enjoyed this. We’re headed your way this year to explore some of Ouray’s stunning hikes and a couple Via Ferratas 👍
Looking good guys!
Nice vid in the land of bigfoot.
Both the ride and the video were a lot of fun, good job!
the downloadable gpx did not work it only took me to the trailforks web site. It would be great if you had a trailforks or strava link for the ride. Enjoyed it.
You should be able to download from that page. I’ll investigate the problem and advise soon.
Thanks for letting me know there was a problem. The link was a DUD and I don't know why. I recreated it - let me know if it doesn't work. www.trailforks.com/ridelog/planner/view/526623
Beautiful trails just went up there for a visit
How do you charge the extender?
You simply plug in the charger that you normally use with your bike, but connect it to your range extender. If you need more help, see your bikes quick start guide. Here’s a link www.manualslib.com/manual/2498825/Orbea-2022-Rise-Hydro.html?page=9#manual

Nice to see you guys on Video!! lets catch up soon!!
Are you still riding? Let’s go!
the bad part is the campground app or the rangers make you camp right next to other campers' loud music playing campers, so you can't sleep at night!! I don't recommend this campground if you want peace and quiet
Sorry to hear (no pun intended) that you had those problems. Yes, other campers can be thoughtless - usually, the young ones, and it only takes one ore two bad campers to ruin it for others. The advantage to being old and retired, is we can camp on weekdays when things are usually much quieter. We found there was good separation between sites around the lake and never heard either of our neighbors.
@ 1:27 that used to be a free campground, i have camped there many times 20 years ago sucks things have changed.
Really? Yes, times have changed. But the dump station is still free. Most of the campgrounds seem to charge about $10 for that privilege.
Hi there! I just moved here and made the mistake at cronan ranch doing down and up and realizing I am never going to get back up without walking the bike. Do you recommend any routes with a hardtail in the region that are not so much into the downhill which also means climbing back up? PS 62 and tennis coach. I see you are pickleball players tisk tisk! (Just kidding) lol
Salmon Falls is good on a non-e bike; we did it many times before our eMTBs. I do miss tennis, but pickleball has advantages. Thanks for watching!
You guys hitting all my favorite local spots! If you're back in Folsom, I'll buy you guys a beer at Sam Horne's on Sutter St. That's where I hang my tankerd.
Thanks, that’s a great offer!
Hoot is such a good, fun flowy trail. Love Scott's Flat, too. Need to try Talon next. Will be up there glamping over Memorial Day weekend.
Sweet! Enjoy!
What bike are you both on? I just picked up a Cannondale Moterra Neo 3 on Friday (Sunday now) and have 30+ miles on it only using just over 20% of the battery. Love it!
We ride Orbea Rise H15 and H30. Been loving them for two years and a couple thousand miles 👍
Such a beautiful scenery, this looks great guys! Shots are amazing
A Thousand miles, and not even any microscopic scratches anywhere. Hmm? Digital odometers, are easy to alter.
No scratches? In our dreams. Unfortunately, Orbea doesn’t make touch up paint and matching nail polish doesn’t last very long. But we’re happy if people don’t notice them. 👍
Bro...paranoid much?
Awesome
Glad you liked it!
sweet!
Thanks!
Hey guys thanks for all the great content! I just bought a '23 H10 rise and am slightly concerned with the overall life of the battery, and whether or not a replacement will be available down the road. Same with the motor. Any thoughts?
We have no idea about replacement batteries and motors down the road, but ours have over 2,000 miles so far (pretty hard miles) and they’ve been trouble free so far. Our philosophy is to just ride and enjoy the bikes for as long as we can. These modern e bikes are kind of a new frontier and we’ll just have to see what the longevity is.
Question, I have a h15 rise, which I bought exstender but haven't needed to use it , anyway I tried ir the other to see how work but 6 miles in bike turn off , is there a set process how to turn the bike and exstender on.
@ceriway380 We usually have the extender plugged in before we turn on the bike. Make sure the plugs are in Tight. The STEPS computer will recognize the extender and use it first. However two weeks ago we were both having our bike shut off every 10 min. Unplugged the extenders and everything was fine. I attributed it to dirty contacts, since I had sprayed a little silicone on the cable’s locking mechanism before the ride. I cleaned the contacts and the next ride was fine. Long answer, but no special procedure if you start out with it plugged in. I’ve never plugged it in mid ride though.
So you always started with a full charge on the bike , does the exstender show lights when riding the bike . Thank you for replying.
No, the extender is dark when using it.
@quarryparkadventures
Doing this hike in middle of April. Nice Video!
How’d it go?
If you liked that, try something a bit more aesthetic: Guided Climb of the Grand Teton.
We loved the Grand Tetons! Thanks, we’ll add it to our list - which already includes Telluride, Ouray, Pallisades, and maybe Mammoth.
Great video !!
Hi, dear, I hope you are well. I saw that your RUclips videos are very lovely and very helpful. You have enough of the videos but your video is not getting views because there is some problem with your videos. Your SEO score is very poor (0% out of 100)and you need optimization for better results. If you update the videos then the views of the video will increase. If you want you can discuss with me. Thanks
Thanks for your comment and offer. No, thank you.

How awesome is that campground. Amazing! Great State Park. Thank you for sharing the adventure.
Our pleasure! Glad you liked it.
You are welcome.
MTB tip: You will ride better, crash less, have more fun if: Whenever you are climbing or descending, and whenever you are riding through technical/janky terrain regardless of angle, lower your saddle completely and ride in the ready position. Occasionally hovering your butt slightly above a raised saddle does not work and is exhausting. You should be standing on your pedals, not in a deep squat. Your bike should move around underneath you in response to the terrain, while you remain steady, relaxed, and ready to react. The saddle and should not bump your bum or your legs. If you try it, you may feel that standing is too exhausting, but that's just because you are not conditioned. Commit to it for a few rides and it will get easier. Also, it is easier to ride correctly if you place your feet so that the arches are over the pedal spindles and the feet are supported by the pedals fore and aft of the arches. The more you do it, the better you will get at it, and the more you will enjoy it.
I have a mountain bike but im too old for mountain biking. I stay on easy stuff..53 isn't old but i would feel stupid doing this stuff at my age just seems there's a time to quit the crazy stuff 😕
We may have grown old, but we haven’t grown up? Mountain biking keeps us young. And it gives us the occasional reality check 😂. We’re in our mid 60s and love staying active. It all depends one one’s skill level as much as one’s age. Dave and I skip the jumps. 👍
I’m 76 and riding real trails every day. I’m not embarrassed to hop off occasionally! RIDE365 Moab. The J in the trail name is for John; the E is for Emily, and I forget who the M is for. They originated this trail.
You’re awesome! Keep riding! It’s written in the video, right at start of the trail - J.E.M. John, Ellen, Mike - you were close.
@@user-bq4un2zx1sSome call it hoping off, I call it cross training 😂. Hoping off opens up all kinds of advanced trails without adding advanced risks.
looks like you guys are having fun!!
Thanks, Lu, it’s always fun riding with friends! Are you riding much?
Looks like they're trying to act 20 when they are clearly not 😅

Living vicariously through you guys. Keep adventuring and sharing!
More to come!
Beautiful videos and great weather? Curious- While you are out at the pubs etc or on a motorcycle ride, How do you secure your expensive bikes?
We keep them covered, out of site, use very heavy chains and the top rated locks and secure them to something permanent, and under the eye of someone trusted, when possible. And, of course, cross our fingers. If we have them with us at a pub, we keep them with us - bring them onto the patio where we’re eating, for instance, always keeping guard.
Very cool! Also, the music starting about 5 minutes into your hike, is great! We've traveled thru the area a few times, now we'll have to do the hike, thanks!
We’re looking forward to doing it again!
Amazing and inspiring!
Thanks Scott!
Thanks for refreshing my memories. I was there in the 70's with my husband . We didn't see as many places though. But we were allowed to walk around without a guide then.
