I much prefer undercover and most wanted's radio scanners than... whatever this is. They felt more grounded in realism and badass. Like they were serious about their business. But cop voicelines in the newer NFS games feel like... ehh... you know in the past cops were using coded language ("Dispatch, requiring 10-45") you had to learn to avoid their tricks. But now they just say it like it is.
The chase felt a bit relaxed, despite the difficulty being intense. At any point, you can just take a left/right turn and you engage the escaping mechanic. Needs more units chasing you at Heat 5. Like 8 at least. They also need to be a bit more aggressive or smarter at least. Do rhino units even exist? You know, the two big boys charging right at you in the opposite way. Thats said, the rest of the game seems pretty good. The car isnt made out of glass like in heat (its really bad) and the gas stations actually repair your car now. The streets feel really alive with pedestrians on the sidewalks. I really like that. Cant play it because am poor but from what i can see on videos, its a solid 7.5/10. All of this is just my opinion btw.
It would already help if the game would have any physics. The car is a tank which drives through guard rails like paper. What noob crap is this? I wonder when they make an NFS where even walls cant slow you down anymore 🤦♂ If by nothing the player car can be stopped you have this obviously
@@De-M-oN Some rails slow you down and most don't. It's been a thing since heat, it's there to give you the feeling of being strong but not invincible.
@@hawken796 Its there so that the little kid of 6-years old can play the game too I guess. No seriously, this looks like EA wanted to help people with skill issues. Making you feel strong - there is a ton of other ways than converting your car to a tank
@@De-M-oN Nah imma tell you, this game is actually more challenging than the last three games. The racing is even more challenging than the Underground-prostreet era games. Playing on medium difficulty and it's surprisingly good racing. Some aspects are weak like the heat level 1-2 cops mainly but other than that it is a well-made game, much better than the past decade of nfs games imo. Doesn't even have noticeable rubberbanding. Maybe a patch here or there is enough to buff the cops up and no other real complains I have for this game so far. It's hella addictive.
Honestly, the intensity of the chases seems to be a coin flip. Heat 5 [at Challenging (Medium)] can be brutal, and then sometimes, it's relaxed. I hope they do something about that. At Heat 5, it should always be brutal, not a coin toss
As a hater of every post 2010 NFS, I gotta say unbound is actually winning me over. The handling looks much less floaty than previous games, even when playing full drift style. The cars have weight instead of just being boxes on rails, you can actually fuck up and lose control. That's already a reason to be happy. The betting and buy in system also fixes a massive problem of racing games, where 1st place is the only thing that counts as progress. This fives you a reason to actually take on tougher races to see if you can at least squeeze in a top 5 finish. The cops are still dangerous but they aren't immovable barges, so you'll actually be able to battle with them properly. The risk/reward mechanic is probably the best direction modern NFS can take. I also love that there's a sense of progression, the game really lifts you up and then makes you feel like a loser. I was genuinely disappointed that you get so good so fast, then the twist really hits. It nails the classic NFS feeling of losing your main car and starting from scratch. The only two things that I still dislike is the writing and the aesthetic. I'm just not into the whole hype beast, altima driver on probation type of energy. But that isn't much of a complaint considering the rest is pretty good.
Thanks for this. I'm still 50/50 on getting this game (after playing every single one since Underground). Is it possible to only "Grip" around corners and still be competitive and it not understeering all the time?
the coolest thing is that the AI police also chase other opponents instead of the player, in nfs heat they were even arrested and that gives a feeling that it's not just the player who only gets screwed in the chases like in nfs mw 2005
I can agree ghost's cops in heat were way more aggressive compared to this. Criterion probs went for the "realistic" approach. Hope they amp up the *heat* in the future
You need to play it for yourself, these ones to me feel more aggressive, they box me in, Brake check, handbrake then to block me, stop in the middle of the road etc, I think everyone needs to play before they judge.
In a game with graffiti effects, cell shaded characters, arcade driving physics, they decided to go for a "reallistic" approach. I don't know why would they think it was a good idea for this kind of game but alright
One thing that will make this game perfect is the addition of a pursuit breaker. Like in NFS MW, Carbon and Undercover. For me, that would be a perfect in a police chase.
this just made me want to go back to one of those videos of Heat level 6 cop chasing on the OG Most Wanted, we're talking about a game 17 yrs old that still have better police AI.
That actually sounded real, and not like some teenagers behind the wheel. It's damn sad that that 2005 game has so many things in it that later NFS games could never top. It had brilliant and intense music as well, and that is also sorely missed.
You're wrong about MW 2005, Rivals cops' literally want to kill you until your car is fucked. MW 2005 is just you being arrested and surrendered to the authorities.
There is an auxiliary part which gives u more cash for pursuits but it also decreases the time between reinforcement waves, have yet to test it though.
About the AI. Yes, whether you like it or not, these cops are smarter than anything in mw05 up to heat level 4. These stand toe to toe with heat level 4 and above cops. And if you don't believe me, go into the game and see how easy it is to outmanoeuvre them. About the difficulty This game will happily throw the same 6-8 cops as in mw05, with roadblocks, rhinos, helicopter and other things in the mix. So long as the reinforcement meter doesn't appear, you're in a full backup, they have cars available. Also, barely any cops in mw05 would actually keep up with you towards the end game, they'd mostly trail you cause they were too slow. Not to mention, you had to babysit the morons you'd deal with up to heat 3. About reward. It's the cash... The chases are like the races, you get a reward... Now I wish the reward was more akin to bounty, a score tally where things like you wrecking cars would count, but it's fine About the handling First one in 13 years where you can actually take racing lines and you don't have to just break to drift everywhere. Even if the game still gives you that option. About the aggression. They're literally more violent than the cops from mw05. Those were pussies that would at most try to pit manoeuvre you hopelessly or try to push you to a wall to box if you were slow. The rhinos would do the aggressive work of pinning you down. From what I see, everyone in unbound is really aggressive, they don't try to just box you in but kill you. And the rhinos still try to pin. About you wearing Rose tinted glasses. Remove them... I've been playing mw05 for thousands of hours, it's not perfect... Jesus christ people, appreciate a good work
Without using the bus station, MW2005 heavily punishes the littlest of mistakes. You have to be constantly on your toes, even though your car couldn't take damage Yes, the cops were slower than the best cars, but that's the point. The cops would throw Rhino's and road blocks to slow you down. And when you've slown down, that's when all the surrounding cops wound pound on you. You'd better hope that you saved your nitro for those moments Had a lot of moments where I didn't monitor the police radio too closely and got surprised by Rhino's ramming me head on. If that happened, you had to throw it in reverse immediately and hope there were no cops directly behind you, pinning you in. Otherwise it was a certain bust. The chases are easy if you know exactly what to do, and make little to zero mistakes (that last part is what makes the chases so intense, among others) I know, I've got thousands of hours in this game as well and know the game isn't perfect. But the cop chases are up there, among the best.
@BuriedDutchman it's very car dependent, particularly on weight. What you're saying is true with bad cars like the punto or the CL500 but using some better cars like the cobalt or golf or gallardo, things can be more forgiving. As for the rest like the radio, unbound seems to have taken a page off of mw's book for them, and for the most part they're doing a good execution. I'd say overall, unbound isn't very close to mw, but it's a lot better than heat, it touches mw.
@@thelazywanderer_jt About the radio... sometimes Unbound's Police radio is bordering on cringe They do announce road blocks and spike strips like MW2005 did though. So on a technical level, it starts to touch MW2005 One thing I hate is that the Raptor Units have too heavy rubber banding. Those things shouldn't be able to outspeed a Chiron. Perfect cars for head on collisions like the Rhino's in MW2005
Health bars make police chases more intense and enjoyable, and I think there are an infinite amount of repairs in this game, so idk why you’re complaining about that
@@ok_genius i had fun with Heat and Rivals, so im not really complaining. But this formula of "getting rammed till your health reaches zero" isn't that fun for me anymore. The police just seems like online racers with all the ramming and no thinking lol. I agree that Rivals cops are spawns from hell, tho. Really liked those pursuits.
I don't know why, but my experience with Heat 5 is constant Raptor units rubberbanding behind me and taking out over half my health in 2 hits. I feel like they are overtuned compared to the other cop units. And I'm playing on Intense difficulty. But so far, the pursuit system is way better than Heat, but also more brutal because of the Raptors.
@@RealSlxzz Yea but it doesn't make sense how much faster they are compared to the Corvettes. Combine that with constant reinforcements, you can barely survive if you are in an A class car or below.
Exactly this video did not show someone who is good at driving in the game and resorted to driving deadass on the highway for damn near 10 mins str8.. Also, they had the difficulty prolly on easy or normal cause the damage they took was just about nothing while also hitting the cops for 25% or more.
@@vandakaii2893 He shows in the end of the video that he is playing on the hardest difficulty (he always plays on the hardest for any game anyway). It's just that he rarely got hit by Raptors in this chase so I guess he was just really lucky.
It slightly traumatized me as it reminded me of this... ruclips.net/video/LnkMSmLc6mM/видео.html I dont like haunted stuff 🙈 but after seeing the video a couple of times i can handle it
I like how they give the Police health bars, even though fighting them is probably the worst and inconsistent path to run away from them. I miss when you could 1 shoot police cars with heavy vehicles
Honestly I haven’t watched this video because I’m refusing spoiling it. But reading the comments and if I can add to this, the biggest issue I’ve seen with this series of games is the coding is just bad. Nfs most wanted had the perfect formula. But nothing has compared since. I’m sure this game will have the same issues but the handling is what I’m focused on.
@@TacoMan99 Handling feels great. The cars all feel like they carry their own weight and you feel like you are always in control of not being in control. I just think the AI should be smarter, which we had in games like Rivals. I also just can't take MW'05's formula seriously. Game felt like an axe grinder and AI rubber bands for just being in first for 5 seconds.
I think a few adjustments could be made: 1) AI behavior is the obvious one. Need more aggressive behavior 2) more units chasing you. I get it is more realistic to be chased by ~4 units in expensive interceptors, but if you are on the highest heat you should deserve a lot more people trying to bust you. 10 to 15 is a nice amount 3) pack behavior would be a nice addition along with more cops. Perhaps you could make the more basic units to act as harassers, trying to brute force you to stop, while interceptors in more expensive cars try to pull off unexpected stuff like PITs, rolling blocks, T-bones and so on 4) this one is going to be controversial: cop weapons. No, not that wacky killswitch thing we've seen on past games that can instantly end you if you're not careful, but rather something that makes your life harder instead of impossible. Spike strips, tire poppers, nitrous ram, hell even a towing harpoon would be interesting Note: haven't played the game
You're obviously wrong tho. The cops AI are no longer only chase the player like they were used from the past games, they're also can chase up to other racers AI and busted them. Please noted there are also Undercover cops AI roaming around the streets once your car is getting higher notoriety.
oh those good ol' days of MW2012 if an interceptor is faster than you, and is always in front of you expect some spike strips. at good 40% of the video has the corvette interceptor in front of the player, and it feeds my anxiety problem is from what mentioned above, the interceptor doesn't do anything other than follow the player. no brake check, no e-brake checks (which they did try) and they only wait for just more backups
The cops were more aggressive in Heat. If you’d tried to this in a similar car on heat 5 in that game, you’d get busted in a minute. Which makes me think Criterion intentionally made cops easier so people wouldn’t complain about the cops being to difficult. And there were more cop cars after you too in Heat. Even if there are other ai racers, there should be no reason why only 4 cars should be chasing you especially in single player.
You just went left at 2:10 and u almost lost them 💀 They should make Heat Level 6 with all Undercover car's and aggressive Cross coming back. Would make a great throwback
tbh, cross was rockport municipality, and he was in part of palmont PD. For his jurisdiction to expand, or change throughout other territories would be nice but not very engaging as cross was the one cop u WANTED TO immidiately kill for the bounty.
its time they leave the shit that was in the past, in the past. you think newer players give a shit about the m3 or cross? let that shit dust, its time for something new, FOR ONCE, in this franchise.

What the fuck is wrong with the police chatter in this game? It was dumb throughout but when I heard the cop say doofus I had to stop and process for a moment. This isn't radio chatter. This is a family friendly version of a CoD voice chat.
There is a defo different feel playing the game compared to watching, cops are honestly kinda scary, especelly considering you can easily attain high heat levels even early in the game.
The chases look good, but I still don't know if it's on point, I've only seen a few gameplays so far. Now I don't understand the critics about the police radio. They are humans too, not robots programmed to say everything correctly, I liked the conversation and how they mixed professionalism with this courageous feeling. The chase songs sound good too...
So because their humans means they should say sound cringe and childish? If they are professionals they should act like it. MW05 and Undercover have the best police chatter for a reason
@@guerillla6 Let me put it this way, this is a phenomenal step up from Heat where it was very "how do you do fellow kids" levels of asinine. People are willing to give them credit for a step in the right direction, at the very least they sound invested in their job.

@@lRedKill3r The main problem with the cops on Heat was the fact that hit detection was terrible. Sometimes, you'd slam a cop hard and you'd take more damage than the slammed cop. It made fighting the cops pretty much unviable. Gladly they fixed this issue on this game.
I like everything about this game so far. The story is passable, car selection is good especially since they have a Crown Vic, the effects look cool. It's just the police AI are really stupid, especially at low levels.
@@H3llfire320 Yeah my thoughts exactly. Gives me that NFS Nitro feel. Reminds me of the late 2000s, when every racing game had to be unique. That was what gave us Split Second and Blur and Burnout Paradise and Midnight Club LA. And tbh if I wanted realistic styles, Forza Horizons 1-5 and every Ghost NFS is right there.
Should implement a system were the ai police learn the players style of driving and uses that against you, in previous games they were so op it was hard but fun to try and shake off.
This looks like a fun game. I don't see what everyone is complaining about. They changed up some things that we really haven't seen any other racing game do up to this point to appeal to a wider audience than the nostalgia crowd that just this series can't seem to shake for some reason. It looks like fun. It's a game. It's not going to change your life, or take you back to being a kid again. If I bothers you to that extent, go play NFS Underground then come back. The new games are better (Heat+Unbound) than the old underground street racing style games by a mile.
After finishing Most Wanted about 3 days ago for the first time ever, i don't think EA will ever bring back a cop chase as intense as it was in 2005. A few issues with unbound's chase sequence: 1. Cop dialog, insulting the driver is not it to be honest. like in MW the cops treated you as a threat not just some bozo off the street. And the same logic can be applied to the cops, we treat them like a threat but once they throw insults we can't help but laugh and cringe at them. 2. Cop AI. Of course this will change over the course of the game but if this heat level 5 then they are going to have to rework the whole cop chase ordeal. 3. Cop Chase after a race. If your in the middle of a race and get a cop on you it shouldn't play the winning animation with your character showing off. The way it seems in Unbound, it feels like the cop chase is a separate race instead of a continuation when you cross the finish line. There shouldn't be the "Cop Chase Resuming" title, you should just be thrown into the chase and keep your momentum. Like in MW you don't have a grace period between races if you're being chased. 4. Lack of adrenaline inducing chase music. The chase music in MW was incredible and here i was barely able to hear it. Once i heard it you don't really get much feeling out of it. 5. Car damage. im fine with the car getting damage since it's another way to get busted which is an improvement considering in MW the cop chase is over once you run into one spike strip. However damage to the vehicle should be heavily decreased and road blocks should be like they were in MW. The purpose of MW road blocks was to slow you down to a near halt giving the cops a chance to pin you against the wall or between their cars. Reducing the damage intake allows the driver to 6. Restrict heat level to level of the car. If they do end up reworking the cops in this game then restricting heat level will be a wise choice since it makes it fair to players who are just starting. Of course there should be some difficulty with each heat level but not to the point where the player gets busted the minute they enter a chase. 7. Cop sirens. Siren_head.wav? 8. Pursuit Breakers. Didn't see any one the map but i will assume they will be added unless they will handle it like in Heat where a long jump instantly ends any cop chase. 9. Expanding on my Cop AI point: There is zero coordination from the cops. They don't try to box you in or get in front of you to break check. At least from this video all they do is just try to ram into you to damage your car or do a pit maneuver.
@@hawken796 wasn't rivals pvp? Idk I never got to play it. If it was pvp cop chases then I can see why it's intense. But AI alone I feel like most wanted was far better. Again never played rivals so I can't really say for certainty
@@juanquito0074 ai in mw use more tactics, but that game didn't have that intensity rivals or more importantly heat had. The damage system is balanced in this game but i agree, cops need a buff on heat 1 and 2 and also 5.
@@juanquito0074 Watch the cop chases in Rivals. The cops literally outshined Most Wanted's AI because of their aggressiveness and brutality. Similar to Hot Pursuit, those guys are equipped with deadly weaponry and can drive faster hyper cars. Rivals is the only NFS to reach Heat Level 10 as the maximum heat level and this is the most stress-inducing game that will literally make you ragequit. There are no pursuit breakers in Rivals so you only had to rely on your weapons to fight back. And yes it is PVP in which player Cops will try to annihilate you at the start of the game.
OMG! Those police sirens legit sound like "Siren-Head"! 😬💀💀 (Now now! I know the science behind it. It's called Doppler Effect! It's just, it's the first game in NFS franchise that has successfully mimicked and implemented it!)
Yeah no, MW 2005 cop chase still outshine the new gens NFS This will be long; Starting from dialogue, MW treat it with serious tones and you can feel the intensity in it, especially on heat 5, you rarely hear them being quiet for long Screen info, MW only show how many cop you wreck, tag, chasing you, and bust-escape meter, the rest comes from minimap for heli and roadblocks, and cop lines for spikes position if you listen carefully, while Unbound babysit people with all the infos to the smallest detail like heli refuelling, and even subtitles for what they gonna do The chase itself, MW throw everything on heat 5 (heat 6 not included since you cant reach it under normal circumstances), cop numbers, rhinos, roadblocks, spikes, heli, you name it. The cops will try pit maneuver you, box you in with 4 cars, or brake check you frequently, the cooldown itself after evading cops takes forever unless you go to cooldown spot or safehouse In new gens NFS, they added damage meter on how many hits you can take before your car break down, thus they went to limit the cops to balance it out. Heat 5 should be treated as the hardest chase, they need to make it very hard so it gives the solid reason of risk and reward what player going for, and need to change car to let the heat cool down, the current state is laughable.
You do know that NFS Unbound has way more distinctively different direction than MW05? At least the cops in NFS Unbound is no longer only chase the player like they were used from Black Box ridiculous AI, they're also can chase up other AI racers and busted them. The cop chatters are not terrible either. Another addition to NFS Unbound is that there are Undercover cop AI roaming around the streets once your car is getting higher notoriety.
@@ok_genius True, but the fact that they can drive the Veyron, the Agera, and the Venom GT, also they had deadly pursuit tech and can spawn 2 helicopters in a single pursuit is fucking terrifying. They're very hard to outrun against.
In higher qual's it gets much more difficult, but then also, if you make some jumps or drops from high places they will still lose you. The problem is the heli. That's hard to lose in a slow car. You need to outrun it until it runs out of fuel.
remember in Most Wanted when you had like 15 police cars chasing you, with them trying to box you while having the Rhinos trying to suicide smash into your car ? Remember the pursuit breakers ? Now that was fuckin intense, in that game when you'd get high heat level you'd sweat bullets. This is max heat level and it looks so easy, just turning a corner abruptly and you lose them. They really need to make the cops more like in MW, or Rivals, that game also had really intense chases
Rivals' cops are better than MW 2005, mostly thanks to their weapons. They're deadly, ruthless, and scary to encounter whenever you are in AFK or caught speeding, or staying out of their sight. Their AI are really smart, so if you hide at the back of the hideout, or safe hiding spots that you can lay low for a while, the cops will instantly initiate a pursuit. The Venom GT in Rivals is scary as hell, it can wipe out dozens of cars using ESF and Shock Ram. Problem is there are no pursuit breakers and cops will spawn in 2 - 3 helis on Heat Level 10.

NFS Unbound (2022) : Cops are almost passive, most of the time they just rear end you and that's it, they don't try group attacks or tactics. Passive helicopter that most of the time didn't even fly anywhere close to you. Extremely cringy cop radio dialogue and vfx. Subdued music, sound effects, just feels empty. 2D effects with smoke and air flows that just makes a really confused visual style. Bad UI Design also (chased by 5 cops? yeah yeah we don't exactly need to read a full sentence to know that....) NFS Most Wanted (2005) : Aggressive cops that adjusts behaviour depending on heat level and also work together to stop you (low heat: tries to box you in and make you stop, high heat : extremely aggressive ramming, flanking, blocking from heavy and undercover units), aggressive helicopter that actively spots and even rams you. Realistic cop radio sfx, codes, and radio discipline. Orchestral music with electronic beats combined with the nice sfx and visual style makes you absolutely immersed in the game. Iconic HUD that gives you all the information you need (Busted ------ amount of cops chasing, joining as backup, and eliminated -------- Evade) and also gives you goosebumps when the meter starts going into Busted. Cop chasing alone : 2022 : "I don't think we got mush juice left in us." 2005: "Cover is down! Cover is down! I need more backup!" Dispatch losing you : 2022: "Suspect just pulled a Houdini in ....." "Find this scumbag!" 2005 : "Suspect lost, we're going into a search pattern." "All units be advised, suspect last seen in Hastings road, minimal time delay, all units to set up containment."

I swear I heard each of the police dialogues at least twice in this video. Not to mention the somewhat pepega police AI. This is a good video and it shows the game is somewhat enjoyable but I just can't get over the fact that MW2005 had at least 13000 dialogues with one of the best cop chase mechanics of all time. Then there's this.
The nostalgia cope everyone has from the the og mw is insane. We were kids playing that game of course it was gonna feel difficult, and you didnt have tire reinflating mechanics, plus the collision physics were super rigid so hitting anything felt harder. The timer and collapse mechanics were so easy to abuse that if you knew the map there was nothing to worry about. The only thing that og mw has not been surpassed on was the speed sense, but goddamn move on
nah bro don't act like og mw is some kind of myth that isn't being discovered and played to this day. this looks mid af for what's supposed to be the hardest difficulty.
Hot Pursuit and Rivals are the only NFS games where you can either play as a Racer or a Cop. Rivals is the last NFS game for that and Criterion or EA doesn't even give a shit about it.
as someone who has played MW2012 (criterion's 2nd NFS title) the corvette interceptor being in front of the player for a good 40% of the video is triggering my anxiety. usually im expecting him to line up some spike strips but he just... dosent do it
I guess they decreased the understeer as well as the brake to drift angle so that it feels a bit more natural and less gimmicky. Like, the transition to drifting is nowhere near as pronounced as it used to be.
NFSMW police chases were the best. Even the police helicopter used to smack on your roof. Here the cop chase looks like they are racing with you instead of trying to stop you
How about we can talk if Rivals had the deadliest cops than MW 2005? They nerfed the chopper, it can drop spike strips on you, then with deadly pursuit tech, and cops driving hypercars? They we're ruthless, deadly, and bloodthirsty.
Bad game developers = bad AI = bad Cops I just remember the old NFS Most Wanted days where developer standards were higher, game industry was in a good shape.
cops weren't too hard to be honest. played heat on the hardest difficulty and i have to say, they were challenging AF but the game also had a bunch of systems that made time with cops easier, so i assume ppl who complain about cops either were trying to outrun heat 5 cops with the first car (and of course you should lose) or ignoring jumps, car reinforcements and low detection perks.
NFS Unbound starter car max heat: Intense at times, but can easily be beaten with enough skill. NFS Most Wanted (2005) starter car max heat: unsurvivable, cops tear you a new one within 60 seconds.

@@H3llfire320 it's horrible, can't imagine having this voice in the Heli from NFS Hot Pursuit 2010
I much prefer undercover and most wanted's radio scanners than... whatever this is. They felt more grounded in realism and badass. Like they were serious about their business. But cop voicelines in the newer NFS games feel like... ehh... you know
in the past cops were using coded language ("Dispatch, requiring 10-45") you had to learn to avoid their tricks. But now they just say it like it is.
For real. It's probably the worst I've heard from modern NFS games.
It makes me like Heat's cop chatter more.
@@nibv6996 I like day cops chatter in NFS heat
Yeah ford raptor is the rhino unit
It would already help if the game would have any physics. The car is a tank which drives through guard rails like paper. What noob crap is this? I wonder when they make an NFS where even walls cant slow you down anymore 🤦♂

I had 8 cops after me once at heat 5…. At relaxed difficulty and it was hard AF
Honestly, the intensity of the chases seems to be a coin flip. Heat 5 [at Challenging (Medium)] can be brutal, and then sometimes, it's relaxed. I hope they do something about that. At Heat 5, it should always be brutal, not a coin toss
I had 6 in level 2 but if u keep same car after next night u build more it’s secret feature 👍
@@carlossdejesus1935 Heat level 2 is easy since its just explorers and chargers and they SUCK in this game
Well said, but the aesthetic is god awful, and dialogue has been dumbed down for 6 year olds.
I haven’t played NFS since underground. I’ll see how the reviews come in. Thanks for your comment

One thing that will make this game perfect is the addition of a pursuit breaker. Like in NFS MW, Carbon and Undercover. For me, that would be a perfect in a police chase.

That actually sounded real, and not like some teenagers behind the wheel. It's damn sad that that 2005 game has so many things in it that later NFS games could never top. It had brilliant and intense music as well, and that is also sorely missed.

*Literally tries to kill you*
NFS Unbound Police:
«Driver, please, stop... 😭😭😭 I beg you... 🙏🙏🙏»
The fucking Heli is what makes it odd. She sounds like an anime obsessed girl with all that commentary. "The bad guy went under the bridge >w
About the AI.
Yes, whether you like it or not, these cops are smarter than anything in mw05 up to heat level 4. These stand toe to toe with heat level 4 and above cops. And if you don't believe me, go into the game and see how easy it is to outmanoeuvre them.
About the difficulty
This game will happily throw the same 6-8 cops as in mw05, with roadblocks, rhinos, helicopter and other things in the mix.
Now I wish the reward was more akin to bounty, a score tally where things like you wrecking cars would count, but it's fine
About the handling
First one in 13 years where you can actually take racing lines and you don't have to just break to drift everywhere.
Jesus christ people, appreciate a good work
Nice lies
The cops aren’t that good in this game tbh, they need some rework but not a lot.
Without using the bus station, MW2005 heavily punishes the littlest of mistakes. You have to be constantly on your toes, even though your car couldn't take damage
Yes, the cops were slower than the best cars, but that's the point. The cops would throw Rhino's and road blocks to slow you down. And when you've slown down, that's when all the surrounding cops wound pound on you. You'd better hope that you saved your nitro for those moments
Had a lot of moments where I didn't monitor the police radio too closely and got surprised by Rhino's ramming me head on. If that happened, you had to throw it in reverse immediately and hope there were no cops directly behind you, pinning you in. Otherwise it was a certain bust.
The chases are easy if you know exactly what to do, and make little to zero mistakes (that last part is what makes the chases so intense, among others)
I know, I've got thousands of hours in this game as well and know the game isn't perfect.

About the radio... sometimes Unbound's Police radio is bordering on cringe
They do announce road blocks and spike strips like MW2005 did though. So on a technical level, it starts to touch MW2005
One thing I hate is that the Raptor Units have too heavy rubber banding. Those things shouldn't be able to outspeed a Chiron. Perfect cars for head on collisions like the Rhino's in MW2005
I just miss old NFS pursuit style, where there was no health bars and the police AI needed to be actually smart to box you.
Health bars make police chases more intense and enjoyable, and I think there are an infinite amount of repairs in this game, so idk why you’re complaining about that

Old chase was shit. mindless hours long chase isnt any good.
It does make sense since the raptor weighs more and is built like a tank to take you out

@@dybixs1400 I miss when ramming a cop didn't shave off a chunk off your health bar. At least give me that; reward me for aggressive tactics.
I think a few adjustments could be made:
1) AI behavior is the obvious one. Need more aggressive behavior
2) more units chasing you. I get it is more realistic to be chased by ~4 units in expensive interceptors, but if you are on the highest heat you should deserve a lot more people trying to bust you. 10 to 15 is a nice amount
3) pack behavior would be a nice addition along with more cops. Perhaps you could make the more basic units to act as harassers, trying to brute force you to stop, while interceptors in more expensive cars try to pull off unexpected stuff like PITs, rolling blocks, T-bones and so on
4) this one is going to be controversial: cop weapons. No, not that wacky killswitch thing we've seen on past games that can instantly end you if you're not careful, but rather something that makes your life harder instead of impossible. Spike strips, tire poppers, nitrous ram, hell even a towing harpoon would be interesting
Note: haven't played the game
You're obviously wrong tho. The cops AI are no longer only chase the player like they were used from the past games, they're also can chase up to other racers AI and busted them. Please noted there are also Undercover cops AI roaming around the streets once your car is getting higher notoriety.
oh those good ol' days of MW2012
if an interceptor is faster than you, and is always in front of you
expect some spike strips.
at good 40% of the video has the corvette interceptor in front of the player, and it feeds my anxiety
problem is
from what mentioned above, the interceptor doesn't do anything other than follow the player.
no brake check, no e-brake checks (which they did try) and they only wait for just more backups
"haven't played the game"
says a lot.
You cant just keep making cops more and more aggressive. Then it turns into a demolition derby. They want to put you in jail, not kill you
The cops were more aggressive in Heat.
2:49 Cop: Fuc** this sh*t i'm going home... bye!

I really miss the heat cops imo, the high risk of getting swarmed and hp nuked was annoying but made nights so fun
You just went left at 2:10 and u almost lost them 💀 They should make Heat Level 6 with all Undercover car's and aggressive Cross coming back. Would make a great throwback
It's weird that they still make police overtake in pursuits, despite it putting the unit at a disadvantage
tbh, cross was rockport municipality, and he was in part of palmont PD. For his jurisdiction to expand, or change throughout other territories would be nice but not very engaging as cross was the one cop u WANTED TO immidiately kill for the bounty.
They should bring back Rivals cops, without the powers ofc, they were way more aggressive then MW05

The new games are better (Heat+Unbound) than the old underground street racing style games by a mile.
Mediocre mindset
Them cop sirens sounds like there drunk
After finishing Most Wanted about 3 days ago for the first time ever, i don't think EA will ever bring back a cop chase as intense as it was in 2005. A few issues with unbound's chase sequence:
Reducing the damage intake allows the driver to
Rivals was the most intense

I never knew that, thanks for the info....😁
Yeah no, MW 2005 cop chase still outshine the new gens NFS
This will be long;
Starting from dialogue, MW treat it with serious tones and you can feel the intensity in it, especially on heat 5, you rarely hear them being quiet for long
Screen info, MW only show how many cop you wreck, tag, chasing you, and bust-escape meter, the rest comes from minimap for heli and roadblocks, and cop lines for spikes position if you listen carefully, while Unbound babysit people with all the infos to the smallest detail like heli refuelling, and even subtitles for what they gonna do
The chase itself, MW throw everything on heat 5 (heat 6 not included since you cant reach it under normal circumstances), cop numbers, rhinos, roadblocks, spikes, heli, you name it. The cops will try pit maneuver you, box you in with 4 cars, or brake check you frequently, the cooldown itself after evading cops takes forever unless you go to cooldown spot or safehouse
In new gens NFS, they added damage meter on how many hits you can take before your car break down, thus they went to limit the cops to balance it out.

I miss heat level 10 from rivals, the last challenging NFS game I played
I agree
remember in Most Wanted when you had like 15 police cars chasing you, with them trying to box you while having the Rhinos trying to suicide smash into your car ?

Passive helicopter that most of the time didn't even fly anywhere close to you. Extremely cringy cop radio dialogue and vfx. Subdued music, sound effects, just feels empty. 2D effects with smoke and air flows that just makes a really confused visual style. Bad UI Design also (chased by 5 cops? yeah yeah we don't exactly need to read a full sentence to know that....)
NFS Most Wanted (2005) : Aggressive cops that adjusts behaviour depending on heat level and also work together to stop you (low heat: tries to box you in and make you stop, high heat : extremely aggressive ramming, flanking, blocking from heavy and undercover units), aggressive helicopter that actively spots and even rams you.
Cop chasing alone :
2022 : "I don't think we got mush juice left in us."
2005: "Cover is down! Cover is down! I need more backup!"
Dispatch losing you :
2022: "Suspect just pulled a Houdini in ....." "Find this scumbag!"
2005 : "Suspect lost, we're going into a search pattern." "All units be advised, suspect last seen in Hastings road, minimal time delay, all units to set up containment."
The sounds of the police sirens in the Unbound are kind of scary, it reminds me of Siren Head SO SCARY!!!. I bet Siren Head sponsored them XD.
Or the Tornado Siren.
And i thought I'm the only one. It sounds really creepy and annoying too
@@Pendaemonium I bet you guys a new Unite is coming for NFS XD
Yeah, the audio would be awesome if not all those cringe commentary from police.
@@Sayansundupov That's not what I meant, but that a new Unite will come to replace the terrifying sirens with............................ ..........the ones that are in GTA San Andreas XD
Christ they chat a lot. I'd mute them after the first 5 minutes, it's intolerable.
Is it me or am i digging the Pursuit Music, only because it reminded me of Watch dogs 1 which was also set in Chicago
ASAP Rocky definitely had something to do with that lake being named "Virgil"
As a young adult I'm sad that apparently I am no longer the target audience for one of my favorite childhood games. They all are starting to feel kind of childish to me
Difficulty is way too easy as well
Wait until you play the story of Forza Horizon 5 to see how childish it is. NFS Unbound is quite refreshing for the current state of racing games.
@@channe3049 FH5 is so dumbed down they even removed night time from the game.
It was always a stupid kids game and you played it because you wanted to. Now you just don't want to play but throw some heavy words
@@Red_Lion2000 Now you're just capping
Dude is out here completing side missions
What the hell happened to the realistic police chatter in Most Wanted 05? The cops here sound like angsty teens playing cops and robbers a bit too seriously
They spent too much time on FiveM Servers. Then again, They seem to be somewhat more professional than these fellas.
2:25 is that cop dialouge? the entire police department sounds like skinny chicks in their early 20s, took me a while to realize it wasn't other street racers talking
i think i like Hot Pursuit's police dialogue better. These cops seem 'unprofessional'. It's no wonder they can't catch anyone.
2:45
"This is where the real sh*t begins"
(Cooldown)
"Oh wait. nevermind"
2:55
I placed it there because when I said, "This is where the real sh*t begins," The cop took the exit when the reinforcement timer popped up, and it felt like the tension was building up.
And the music made it feel like the intensity was rising.
@@that1neblackteen Oh ok 😆
I like that engine sound
Honestly cop chases in heat was almost perfect, all it needed was pursuit breakers OR make them do lesser damage when they ram you
I swear I heard each of the police dialogues at least twice in this video. Not to mention the somewhat pepega police AI.
This is a good video and it shows the game is somewhat enjoyable but I just can't get over the fact that MW2005 had at least 13000 dialogues with one of the best cop chase mechanics of all time. Then there's this.
I just had to see this before I buy it. I'll be too late for pre-order bonuses but I'll still enjoy it a whole lot!!
When you can't pick between Burnout and NFS, this is what you'll get.
true
Undercover: Interceptor, bro you good?
The Intercepter: 2:08
The dialogues made me die of cringe. I had high hopes from Criterion. I'm just gonna go replay HP10 or MW12 again
Well this is a serious chase. I cannot wait to try this game soon, since I am getting a new computer shortly.
Nah rivals cops are wayyyy harder than mw
The cops siren is like a terror movie xD
We need NFS Games again, where you can use Abilities and Play as a Cop like in NFS Hot Pursuit
sike lol
Yeah,maybe even a HP2 remake.
Back to its roots, they Better not just make a remaster
Hot Pursuit and Rivals are the only NFS games where you can either play as a Racer or a Cop. Rivals is the last NFS game for that and Criterion or EA doesn't even give a shit about it.
man how did we go so fucking far backwards... to go from MW2005 pursuits to this is in 2022 just unbelievable
To this day NFS most wanted 2005 has the best cop conversations IMO, I cringe whenever I hear cops talk in this game.
6:45 I like how he said that seriously 😂
chasing to the maximum, to be honest, looks so-so. I thought it would be more difficult.
I miss the exagered and brutal force of the cops of NFSMW.
Hell, even the helicopter is a wild beast in this damm game.
If you are talking about that chopper, they nerfed it in Rivals, and will drop fucking spike strips.
as someone who has played MW2012 (criterion's 2nd NFS title)
the corvette interceptor being in front of the player for a good 40% of the video is triggering my anxiety.
usually im expecting him to line up some spike strips
but he just...
dosent do it
Ikr, why don’t they Atleast brake check?
Atleast ram into me or Something
@@ok_genius they actually brake check, play the game before getting conclusions
@@ok_genius at the beginning, some perform an e-brake turn
but it seems the will only perform maneuvers if they're in a pack
I guess they decreased the understeer as well as the brake to drift angle so that it feels a bit more natural and less gimmicky. Like, the transition to drifting is nowhere near as pronounced as it used to be.
RIP Need for Speed (1994 - 2006)
Last good NFS game was Rivals, so it should be 1994 - 2013
@@ralphlorenzperolino3054you're everywhere
Anyways, for me it's (1994-2015). Need for Speed (2015) was the last good game.
I can't believe they mario kart'd NFS
OMG ITS SO COOOL I CANT WAIT 3 MORE DAYS I NEEEEED IT
It looks fun I just wish the radio chatter was better, instead of catchphrases I would’ve preferred radio callouts
Chatter is so cringe, nobody talks like this irl.
Soft Cops=No buy. Thanks for the video
The cops are quite close to Midnight Club games.
An yet you’ll love it as the average Underground fanboy into 5 or 10 years later; just like ProStreet or The Run
Try it with ea play, the cops feel challenging imo, but in this vid they def feel weak
Update, the cops get harder later in the story
they dont even sound like cops wtf
I loved the cops in rivals, they were absolutely ruthless
Bad game developers = bad AI = bad Cops
I just remember the old NFS Most Wanted days where developer standards were higher, game industry was in a good shape.
Whenever you go in a tunnel or smth the cops sirens sound like theyre drunk or high
What an epic cop case!🔥
LIAR!
@@GatitoCarreras Why not?
@@GatitoCarreras yep I agree
Now imagine if that Corvette in front of you could drop spike strips...
It seems that in Heat, the cops were too hard and they made them too soft in this one as a result
cops weren't too hard to be honest. played heat on the hardest difficulty and i have to say, they were challenging AF but the game also had a bunch of systems that made time with cops easier, so i assume ppl who complain about cops either were trying to outrun heat 5 cops with the first car (and of course you should lose) or ignoring jumps, car reinforcements and low detection perks.
NFS Unbound starter car max heat: Intense at times, but can easily be beaten with enough skill.
NFS Most Wanted (2005) starter car max heat: unsurvivable, cops tear you a new one within 60 seconds.
The cartoony style looks off to me with the realistic graphics
Its only to enhance. You can turn them off from what i saw but itll look bland and generic
@@justahotdog8430 it looks bland and generic with it on
@@bosyogurtlight How's it generic? What other games mix realism with grafitti art during gameplay?
@@KKPlaysGD none, cause is just an awful and stupid Idea
@@ricardocividini Still doesn't answer why it's generic, regardless of your opinion.
seems like a trip around town with a flashy escort
My only grip is that the police chatter should be like Most Wanted 2005 tbh, other than that, cop chases are actually much better in Unbound than Heat
NFS Undercover had a better police dialogue but of course people are blinded by nostalgia.
The police in NFSHP2010 also had some nice voice lines, but i guess the game isn't even real to begin with lol
I’m still mad that they nerfed heats cops in like the 1st update or 2nd update of the game

@@JustforFun132a.k.aNickjackHero You are just filled with Resentment for some weird reason.
Put your Feelings aside for a second and just get to what the Comment said: Do you agree with them?
You're making this a NFSUC vs NFSMW thing for no reason. Fact is most people remember NFSMW fondly. They aren't putting NFSUC down by mentioning NFSMW instead. Chances are - and they are high - they just _never played UC._
Bro if y’all think this is easy, try if for yourself on hardest difficulty. Keep in mind this guy is a good driver, and made it look like it wasn’t all that, but try it for yourself and see how difficult it actually is. Those Ford Raptors will literally scratch your paint and take off 10% of your health. I had a run where i had to go against more than 7 of those things mid chase and it was unbelievable how anxious I was. They literally have the speed of a corvette while having all terrain mobility and rhino effectiveness. Experiences may vary.
I do like how "Rock paper scissors" it is against the cops when dealing with them. Also yea those raptors are insane, can PIT you easily, and put you in a crash instance when going at low speeds
"Those Ford Raptors will literally scratch your paint and take off 10% of your health" That means Unbound Health system is more broken than in Heat lmao.
@@Grabuss I was slightly exaggerating. But the raptors do that much damage on purpose
Is it ironic that this is the only modern nfs game where female officers are on the road and the police radio is cringy and annoying ?
