NFS Unbound - Heat Level 5 Police Chase with Low Level Car ("Most Wanted" Trophy / Achievement)

- Need for Speed Unbound has now been released and I have started my playthrough of the story mode. Here you can see what it looks like when you are faced with a Heat Level 5 pursuit while driving a barely upgraded starter car.
Each Heat Level adds additional types of cop cars, from simple cruisers and vans to Corvettes, undercover vehicles and heavy trucks that can call in air support. With a slow car it can be quite tricky to escape from Heat Level 5 as you can see.
(Note: If you are wondering why I am not driving one of the 3 starter cars, then watch or play through the prologue of the game first. Afterwards it will make sense.)
Later this week I will post my usual guides on how to master all the speed traps, jumps and other activities and collectibles, so stay tuned for those videos if you need some help with those things. Once I am done with the single player I will probably stream some multiplayer as well.

I see they kept the gritty radio chatter and mixed it with professional radio chatter also, like some cops keep it professional and some don’t, just like real life Chicago police radio chatter 😂

definetely better repair mechanic design than Heat, while still keeping it balanced, Heat repair is so underwhelming, whereas old NFS in general is overpowered, but insta-death spike strips was a fair tradeoff for the time
timed repairs are way better than just having a set number. with 3 max repairs in heat you had no choice but to go back to the garage with 0 repairs and low hp. with this you have the chance to play indefintely.
@@sondertt2220 yeah exactly it rewards skill where as in heat no matter what you’re gonna eventually get damaged and run out repair kits no matter how good a driver you are. Here if you’re good enough you can make money until you’re out of races for the night

The long cool down timer, the violence of the cops, the fact you get 6 or 7 of em on you, the backup timer, the music... They actually nailed the cops, damn

For some reason... I start liking the new nfs. Something like really close to perfect blend of both new and old stuff
@Gibbon I mean really. Underground-grade customization, decent cops that can be both easy when you're early on and hard when you are at the late game. Stuff from most wanted like longer cooldowns and reinforcement timer. Fuel for cops. And cops' "cool" speech can be actually explained by the fact that they are doing the job, and they aren't robots, while the dispatch just monitors everything and is therefore calm. Also glad to see undercovers back, even though it's still shaw's camaro from heat.
As for boomers, don't care much about them. MW is free to be pirated and modded anyway.

The sense of speed in the beginning is insane. I like that they enhanced a little bit along with adding the light and wind trails.
interesting Chase, the fact that the cops need to refuel makes it more realistic and easier, dynamic soundtrack is back, I guess? Dont remember it in Heat or Payback, and I like how the screen gets that black-white-red filter when the car has low health, makes it more t e n s e
I like it, pretty nice
Payback was dynamic, music either got more intense depending on how close the police was, how fast you were going, and the type of chaser after you. The more lethal the cruiser and the faster you’re going and the closer they are, the more “Urgent” the song is.
Not to mention the fact that it can change in a lotta ways, close low speed pursuit, far high speed jammer, close low speed jammer, etc.
They make it realistic by making the cops refuel. Yet the player doesn’t have to refuel and can mow through everything without taking damage. Picking and choosing the realism 😂
Heat's cops were infuriating, this seems more balanced out.
Honestly my only problem with Heat chase is that the HP is really inconsistent. Sometimes a big crash only makes you lose a tiny bit of your HP while the other times when you just touch a civilian car you'll lose a big chunk of your HP. If they fixed that issue, it'd be much better. And they also should have an option for people who don't want to play with HP bars and the aggressiveness of the cops. But other than that, I do like the chase in Heat and I do really like that they upgraded it here instead of inventing a new chase or completely removing the chase. That is how you do a sequel (even though this game isn't really directly a sequel to Heat, but still counts. An upgrade is an upgrade)
also, 3 repairs were replaced by a 3 min wait repair is the best thing that they did
@@gdottothegamer1001 + here instead of limited repairs you have a cooldown. + I noticed critical damage is temporary, just to give the player some more chances to get to the repair station
@@K3ntucky123 I dig the pursuit. Even tho the chase music is meh. The intensity of the chase was a nice compromise between "oh fuck" and "I'm still in control".

For me this game is rated 16+ due to strong violence and language
i can say that there is finally a text game as much as nfs most wanted, after years of cops being bad ass, now i can finally feel the adrenaline of escape.
I love this game only because of that ^^
fk the health bar system, granted, it's much more generous than Heat...
instead of 3 repairs in Heat there is a 3 minute cooldown with unlimited repairs
Looks really fun, tempted to grab a copy in time for Christmas once it drops here, although i haven't played NFS in a long time, one thing that deffo took me off guard was the casual cursing, like i don't recall hearing a-hole and crap in a NFS game lol
me too, when looking at another cop chase video, people called unbound horrible and cops cringy dialouge just because its not like most wanted 05, what a joke -_-

I recently cleared a Heat 5 chase with the maximum B rated custom Aston Martin DB5 that you can win from one of the races on the challenging difficulty. And I gotta tell you, these cops are no joke.
Man this achievement is going to be really tough
It’s actually terrifying how fast those SWAT units are. I’m surprised you stood a chance against everything the cops threw at you, especially in a low level car.

I like how the helicopter can run out of fuel give you a bit of chance to escape the police
I miss EMPs & jammers... And when both cars and helicopters could drop spikestrips...

@@wiseguy240Winston maybe i'm judging too early as no other video has show heat 5 cop chase so far. i expected the cops can keep up with you, when your ride is in maximum level or best condition. nfs heat unite cop chase is my favorite by far beside nfs mw 05. but that's just my opinion

I am honest, these chases look great. They're a little more believable than Payback's or Heat's though. But it's sad they removed the Ford Crown Victoria :(
But they added Ford Raptor and Chevrolet Camaro SS
The music is banger! The graphics are stunning and the sounds are great as usual.
I find it a little sad though that Lakeshore is just a mix of Ventura Bay, Fortune Valley and Palm City again. I mean, some streets and districts have similarities
I prefer the chase music from Payback more, it felt much more reactive and more like a fight for freedom than this and heat. But this is HUNDREDS of times better than heat.
The problem with the map is that it looks like any other city in the usa of course it's gonna look smiliar to older games
they should have added pursuit breakers back in unbound.

Tbh those who hate it, haven't even tried it. This game gets overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam among those who actually played.
A lot of it is just nostalgia-tards who think MW05 was the best thing since sliced bread. The cop system is way more aggressive yet intelligent in this game. As someone who likes to fuck with cops in NFS games, this is the most aggressive I’ve seen them since Rivals and MW12.
@infiniteblaz3416 It's exactly that. Those nostalgia tards are everywhere. I love MW2005, but those days are long gone. I played NFS Unbound for hours yesterday and today. It was so engaging.

What's wrong with this one? Some cops are serious, some aren't. There are people. Besides, imagine EA just reusing old chatter. For some would be probably nice, but for others it would be cheap move, like they can't even try doing something else.

Your name fits your comment, Bro what?! This game’s cop chatter is on par with those games imo. The seriousness mixed with cockiness and aggression, actual panic in their voices, and doing actual callouts like fuel stops and engine failures. Perfectly fits with the new style, and honestly the only good thing about MW and Carbon’s cop chatter (the latter game being recycled), was the fact that they were able to bring in local police officers for inspiration and to help record a few lines according to an old dev video that’s now been privated.

Seems great, but the sparse traffic puts me off quiet a lot
Sometimes it's high and sometimes it's less dense
It's time based, at night/less daylight it has less traffic, on daytime its filled to the brim and includes pedestrians too on sidewalks

He’s on normal difficulty. I play on intense as well so not seeing the multiple F-150 Raptors trying to straight up slaughter him on max heat was a dead giveaway.
Was it just me or after a while in critical the car slowly repair itself at 8:00?
What I assume it to be is a balance kind of mechanism. This guy’s health was on the brink of hitting zero, so it might be he gets just a little to not crash out and lose or hit a wall & die. Maybe a difficultly setting but not too sure, I’d assume the hardest difficulty just leaves you T E N S E without throwing you a bone.
@@quack6033 At intense cops are brutal and damage is something to avoid. You can still fight them off, but avoid bring hit by cops at full force or they can easily cripple you. Avoid spikes as they can literally immobilize you and leave you dead in the water regardless of how much HP you got

There's this option called cloaked on the top right and that only has simple smoke effect and nothing more. Play the story and you'll unlock the hellcat

I heard you can set up cops' aggression level along with difficulty. When you get to play it - choose hard mode

The only thing i wished change was the radio soundtrack. If this was an open world crime game. I wouldn't mind the soundtrack but this is a racing game. Racing games needs music that can catch up with the pace of these intense car chases. Would loved to see some good hip hop, Drum and bass and metal music to be here. They couldve done a good mixture of both new and old music. Old for hip hop and new for metal and drum and bass. Like check out nonpoint ruthless . Thats a good example of metal soundtrack in modern era as well as blue stahli. Other than that, everything's alright SO FAR.

This is pretty balanced compared to the last game wym, we can finally battle the police and have a classic chase without having to bow out. I know what I’m spending my first 200 hours on.

Well, they are more tactical here. + some retreat because of fuel, the same long cooldown and reinforcements timer.
As for music, depends on the taste. I like it, tho imo it could fit heat 1 perfectly. + it seems here the music is more dynamic

I have beaten the police chase lvl 5 with Honda Civic on low level with intense difficulty ridiculously easy
this nfs succeed in making you truly feel illegal, getting busted is very punishing and force you to be really wary of meeting cops on the street. Though so far for me the story isn't really engaging tbh.
