Best episode ever! I had so many light bulb moments. Thank you for the work you are doing! Yes the extremism! Thank you for giving us the language to get free! I left the church I grew up at 10 years ago because the pastor was banging the pulpit at end of service and saying “do a little more and try a little harder. Do a little more and try a little harder.” I already had ptsd from how they ran the Sunday school meetings etc (didn’t know it then). I would get up and run out of church when he did that. He looked for cars for two hours day while his wife did all the work and yet he was always demanding more and more from us! OCD and narcissism is the worst combo to run a church. Unfortunately I went to another upc church and they were much nicer but still it’s a cult. I’m so happy at this church by our house.thank you again!
Helpful verses that correspond to this weeks conversation. “The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being Lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” 1 Peter 5:1-4 KJV
Yes. One vote here also for the live stream. Also, these so-called preachers are not called by God, and they are certainly not hearing from God. Moses would rebuke every last one of them.
You are a CUTE couple and I am SO THANKFUL that your ministry is HONEST about your past and present it in a BALANCED, FAIR and BIBLICALLY sound approach! GOD bless your ministry! I really like you very much!
That's so nice!! Thank you... We are very grateful for our Grace Escape family, and the kindness they always give. Most of all, we are so thankful that God is helping people to be set free! Thank you for your very sweet comment ❤️
Well done- pastors are not Moses and believers do not need them in order to be saved. If they wish to insist on being Moses, then they should remember that Moses did not enter into the promised land. 😉
Further, the Israelites were led by Joshua to get them into the Promised Land…and we have Jesus/Yeshua (a variant of the name Yehoshua/Joshua) to get us into our Promised Land (heaven)
@@elkellenhabla Pastors are people that are supposed to equip the saints for God's work. They don't rule over them. Pastors are supposed to be the most humble people, leading by example, not screaming from behind a microphone. The pastors in these clips were the opposite of that. I really hope you know this, but not everyone that is licensed to stand behind a pulpit is called by God. So, to make a blanket statement that people that are saved should have a pastor is misguided. What people need to do is develope a close relationship with God, and seek His face. God is the True Shepard, the True Pastor. The Bible says that when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will lead you and guide you into all Truth. Pastors are supposed to help people tap into that, instead of demanding that the people follow them. Yes, God has given pastors and teachers, but not all pastors are given by God.
@@viperolfChristianity is meant to be lived out in community not on your own “private island.” Healthy Christian communities will have elders/shepherds/pastors. So like I said, if you’re saved you should be in community and you should have a pastor (unless you’re the pastor and that’s another discussion, but if your church is led by a plurality of elders then in a sense the elders hold each other accountable).
"Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ." (1 Corinthians 11:1) ...... The apostle PAUL was saying this... and he is also dead today, except the WORD OF GOD which is ALIVE and WORKING, and PAUL instructs us that : "For there is ONE GOD AND ONE MEDIATOR between GOD and men, the MAN CHRIST JESUS" ( 1Timothy 2:5)
I can't even...Talk about eisegesis. Wowsers. Not to mention taking Jesus completely out of the picture in the life of the believer, being allowed to come boldly before the throne of God because of Him and being led by the Holy Spirit that's been given to us.🤦🏻♀️ So incredibly dismissive of Calvary.
They also say the MOG is just like the Old Testament priesthood and prophets. The Samuel and Saul story being an example that is used. And if they are the called MOG why do they always say “help me preach”?
@CKoinonia1 lol well as much as they bragg that they are "giving an account for us" and placing the responsibility on their own shoulders all while preaching a different gospel, I'd be scared.
@@suzukisam967m It's confusing because they teach that they're giving account for us. They're actually not "giving an account for us", they are giving an account for themselves, for how and what they taught. The problem is, some of the things that they are teaching are incorrect. Heb. 13:17 is incorrectly translated. Instead of "obey", it should read "be persuaded by". In other words, we need to line up everything they teach against the Word of God and see if what they say is correct. If it's not correct, then we would not "be persuaded" to follow it. But that's where things get dicey. Everyone has their own interpretation on what's correct. It's our responsibility to work out our own salvation. I believe (just my opinion here) that when things are ambiguous, such as modesty, etc. it's up to the individual to decide what that means for them. And God will convict and lead that person to what He wants. It's not up to one man deciding and interpreting things for everyone else. And since I mentioned modesty, when modesty is talked about in the Bible, it's mainly dealing with outward expressions of wealth. So that pretty much deals with the thousand dollar handbags, $500 shoes, Armani suits, etc at the big conferences. And if you really want to apply that principle further, we shouldn't be driving around in expensive cars and living in expensive houses, even if we're able to. We should be humble in everything. But, I digress. It can get crazy. By the way, read the 5th chapter of Amos, especially from verse 21.
Let's do the suspect game: "Suspect (the MOG, the pastor ) believes he is a type of Moses and without him no promised land or heaven for the congregation" 😀 If there's any typology, Moses was a typology pointing to Christ and not even the old time apostles talk less of the modern day pastors. It's weird they place themselves in a special pedestal and take on so much authority

If you’re saved you should have a pastor because you’re a part of Christian community.

This is actually a great topic because they misuse this a lot
A resounding “NO” one doesn’t need a Pastor to get to Heaven/ just a willing witness of Christ Jesus to present the Gospel of Salvation ❤
