Core memory I used to play this song every night at close at work. It just happened to be my favorite. The first night I played it I noticed my boss sang along with it. I kept doing it and he kept singing it every night. He was such a happy dude. Such a pure guy and everyone’s favorite. He quit and so did I and we never spoke again. One of favorite songs of all time! 2024 and this song still hits hard with nostalgia! Music is like a time machine you can go without hearing a song for 10+ years but as soon as you hear it you're transported to a time with a flood of forgotten memories.
@@KatKaotika For me, I had a single mother, but plenty of low committment boyfriends, with the mentality of "If you want to leave, I can guarantee, you won't find nobody else like me"... But they're actually all over the place 😅
This was my grandmas favorite song. She passed away four years ago. I'm pregnant with her first great grandchild and I'm sad she'll never meet him but at least he will grow up knowing this song and how much she would've loved him
She‘s gonna be proud seeing you rising up your child. Everytime s/he‘s going to listen to the song s/he‘s gonna feel that life (your grandma) inside her/him.
I'm 73 years old and have heard many amazing songs over the years. This song and singer are up there with the very best of them. This song has a lovely hypnotic effect on me. A magical performance. Is he still performing.
David Walsh age is just a number doesn't matter you believe in your spirit you believe how true you are to yourself when you got that you got it all babe
My mom says I was born to this song I was born in 98. She had C-sections with all three of us kids. I was born to fallow me and my little brother was born to bad to the bone
@@Synthescape Nah that's a totally different song. Different chord progressions, melody, lyrics and everything, besides the singer saying "follow me" at the end.😂
To all the addicts out there still suffering.. there’s hope. I was in my addiction for 15 years plus. It IS possible to get and stay sober, YOU GOT THIS AND MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU!! ❤️❤️❤️
I wish my brother would believe that. I thought he hit rock bottom a couple of years ago but I guess he's got a little farther to fall. I've made dozens of offers to get him help. Then he went and did something he knew he'd get caught doing and knew he'd likely end up in prison for. Not sure if he wanted to get locked up or what. I should've forced rehab on him when I had the chance.
2 weeks ago Uncle Kracker came out at a Kenny Chesney concert, the crowd went freaking insane! I got it on video… that crowd came alive for him! It was a incredible feeling. And he was so humbled by it. It gave you all the feels!
Forgot about this great tune until I heard it playing today. Reminds me of my Mother. Not all of her music was to my taste, but I always liked it when she played this song. Man, I miss her, when a loved one has passed music is often one of the most powerful means of remembrance we have of those times with our loved ones.
My Grandpa died 4 Months ago (June 4th). Every week before he passed away I would go to check on him in the hospital. He always had CNN or ABC Family on his Tv. There was a movie that featured this song on ABC Family, I don't actually know the name of the movie. I looked over at him and he was smiling, that was the last time I ever saw him smile. At the funeral and wake I was in charge of the music, for the occasion I wanted to not think of how he's gone and will never come back. I thought of it as just another step of life and to remember all the good things he's done such as, he served in world war 2. Back on to the music. I choose to place some casual music played at wake and at the funeral before we put the body in the hearse, I played this song and I was In tears. At the funeral In the cemetery we had current navy seals march along the cemetery. Thanks for this song "Uncle Kracker." Info: Rank in WW2, Private.
I’m 23, I was born the day this song released and now we’re all in this year two decades later kinda bitter sweet no ? I’m young got my whole life ahead of me still but reading through these comments you Ogs from the 70’s and up must of had lots of fun listening to this, almost jealous I didn’t get to experience that time where no Instagram or Facebook was around to jeopardize everything just straight hanging with your friends or family.
I loved this song as a kid too! It followed me into adulthood as well when I picked up my own heroin addiction (I'm clean now). It's one of those songs you have to catch onto in order to get the darker meaning, but as kids we weren't really capable of grasping the concept. It's told from the drug, heroin's, point of view. As kids we skip over such the tragic and darker meanings of movies, tv shows, songs, books, etc. I watched the Land Before Time later in life (that's right, hate on me) and I was sobbing! I miss having the wonder and innocence of a child. Everything was so much happier with less worries and more imagination.

I joined mental health one time and met a therapist from California and she was in a unhappy marriage , we used to forge treatment plans so i could keep seeing her , what a beautiful woman inside and outside , God Bless her❤
When I was in highschool I was absolutely in love with one girl and one girl only. She would play this song alllllllll the time and I loved every minute of it. I will say this we did not end up together but I do think about her and hope she's doing awesome wherever she is at
This song really has been swimming through my veins like a fish in the sea for 20 years now. No matter what, at some point I always remember it and come back for a listen at least once or twice a year.
@christinashephard6211 no, heroin addiction. "Swimming through your veins" "you won't find anyone else like me" "as long as no one knows nobody will care."
My mom would randomly sing this to me all the time throughout life since it stuck to me from a kid 😂😂 Lost her Sep.2020 Brings tears to my eyes when I hear this and sing my heart out! Lol
I remember my best friend/cousin singing this and thinking what are you singing because I was and still am a metalhead but as I got older I appreciate and expand my music and this song is so amazing and beautiful!!! Big thanks to my cousin Anthony and Uncle Kracker because this song stays on repeat!!❤🤘🔥
I ment to say 5months later to the day in Nov.the 12th I lost my son a Joshua I'm 55 and totally alone other then ex wife and my #1 Junior the blue but blk&white pitty I'm gonna ditch the house and get a new camper cause at 55 I thght the same looking at my reflection. And when you mentioned your life and situation I thought of an old acquaintance Jack he had a girl for 7 or 8 yrs Her name was Heather she could barely walk 🚶♂️ 😳 she would go out with us and bartender would say 'Can't ser v e her she's so drunk can barely walk almost always so Jack found her , her own brthlizr equip, did the trick .She was so beautiful inside & out. Which made her vulnerable as it wear Jack started to heat her senseless with words. He may as well of beat her ass . So one time he was gone outta town she lost her whole bottle of pain meds she called me to help her find some cause she said if I don't figure it out He'll lock me up she was extremely upset and scared I was able to fix it I'll never forget the look on her face grateful doesn't gv just, until the bear hug friendly and extremely appreciative to me it was much much more . I thought wow 👌 he'll ruin this never ever could I have predicted 🤔 she didn't die dont worry he came home she had her meds.but took a bunch of Zanex because I got there sparing only minutes felt great to help her in her direstraits she was messed up and still scared over 2 pills it was a $$ thing for him well he had a race boat backed up to front pic
Mine is not a youthful memory of this song, heck I was 42 when this came out. It's the memory of my two sons 15 and 16 at the time, singing their hearts out in their bedroom, completely absent of any tone what so ever obliterating this song, but just having a good time being brothers. Now 24 years later they are both dad's to preteens, I'm 66 and hope my preteen grandkids will sing their hearts out as well. Time moves so damned fast; don't miss a minute!
Today I say goodbye to my mother. She loved this song and this will be the first song which people hear. The lyrics suit her perfectly. "Follow me, everything is alright, I'll be the one to tuck you in at night..."
Sorry to hear. I've lost both parents in the last fre years. The first year is the hardest. Thanksgiving is coming up and then Christmas... Birthday, Mothers Day, etc. Just keep being thankful for good memories and pour into someone's life like your mother did for you. Prayers for you!
Im 20 about to be turning 21 in 4 months and this gives me so much nostalgia and makes me want to cry like a baby I miss the 2000s when I was a naive kid.. Before i realized how harsh the world is.

🎶You don't know how you met me You don't know why You can't turn around and say goodbye All you know is when I'm with you I make you free And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea I'm singin' Follow me everything is alright I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me I'm not worried 'bout the ring you wear Cuz as long as no one knows then nobody can care You're feelin' guilty and I'm well aware But you don't look ashamed and baby I'm not scared I'm singin' Follow me everything is alright I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me Won't give you money I can't give you the sky You're better off if you don't ask why I'm not the reason that you go astray and We'll be all right if you don't ask me to stay I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me You don't know how you met me You don't know why You can't turn around and say goodbye All you know is when I'm with you I make you free And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea I'm singin' Follow me everything is alright I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me I'm singin' Follow me everything is alright I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me I'm singin' Follow me everything is alright I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me 🎶

My gf relapsed back in May this year, this song reminds me of her and her death 😭 i never realized how powerful addiction is and it hurts to now know how bad it was for her. I loved her so much, she was the best ugh sleep well my princess. Probably shouldn't be saying this here, but i felt like it'd be a safe place to randomly vent.

First time I heard this I use to work in a crazy busy karaoke bar, hectic time was 11pm-3am, this was once played at the start off my shift and instantly vibed with it. Then during a manic shift someone stepped and belted it out. Everything seemed easy from that point for the remaining chaotic short-staffed shift. Nice bit of nostalgia right here👌
What memories this bring back when I was 13 years old from Maltby Rotherham chilling with comp friends with our Sony Ericsson phones playing with tunes 😅🙏❤️🫶👌

Been favorite song sense I was a little girl 🥰 Anytime I'm in a bad mood I listen to this masterpiece and it brightens me right up. Thank you for healing parts of me you didn't break!
My mom used to play this on the radio when I would go to target when they had neon decorations and a food court. God damn I love how music can give you such visual memories.
"I'm not worried 'bout the ring you wear Coz as long as no one knows then nobody can care You're feeling guilty and I'm well aware But you don't look ashamed and baby I'm not scared". Inconvenient lyrics for anyone who thinks it's a mushy love song, and also the only reason I comeback to listen to it. Tells an original story.
It's November 2024, let's see how many legends are listening to this masterpiece
Literally since yesterday afternoon it’s been in my head again 12 hrs or so later so I had to find it this morning on the ‘tube 🎶❤️

One of favorite songs of all time! 2024 and this song still hits hard with nostalgia! Music is like a time machine you can go without hearing a song for 10+ years but as soon as you hear it you're transported to a time with a flood of forgotten memories.

Forgot about this great tune until I heard it playing today. Reminds me of my Mother. Not all of her music was to my taste, but I always liked it when she played this song. Man, I miss her, when a loved one has passed music is often one of the most powerful means of remembrance we have of those times with our loved ones.
I had trouble sleeping last night, and then I remembered just how comforting Uncle Kracker's voice was in this song. A true classic!
Thanks for this song "Uncle Kracker."
