yea, at the same time, it seems she doesn't have the experience of ever making noodles... I myself am new to it, (been doing it for a few years) but you don't want a marble table top w/o using more flour as a base to conduct the dough. that's just basic principle. I could go on, but I think you'd get butthurt.
I’ve been making noodles over 40 years. Thanks for showing how easy it is. My Gma who passed at 98! Taught me when I was very young because she couldn’t believe how much they cost in the store! 😂 TY GMA❤
We make these egg noodles for Thanks Giving dinner. We cook them in boiling turkey broth and they come out in a nice gravy and we put it over the mashed potatoes and oyster dressing! A southern Illinois recipe.
Thank you googled the recipe amazing how many ways there are to make noodles some had milk some had butter! As a child I grew up with just basic egg noodle. Flour ,eggs, bit salt and that little water! We rolled them, not as thin. We liked the thick chewy noodle! Just cooked a late holiday turkey and have so much turkey left over to do a soup with egg noodles! Thank you. I hope you are still posting. Your directions are very complete!
Thank you so much, Kathleen! I’m glad you enjoyed the recipe. I put out 2 new videos a week. They are more geared towards sweets but there are some savory recipes thrown in. 😊
one of my earliest memories was making homemade egg noodles on the glass table in the kitchen with my mom. Also Sam is absolutely lovely, thanks for the video
WOW! You're so young. I thought just old people like me did this. It's been so long since I made them . Your video is informative and helpful. Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing this. Although I already had a recipe, it really helps to see the technique and to know I'm not the only one who can't roll out a rectangle or a circle to save my life.
Add to my post If you make more noodles than youneed for the soup. In Amish country we discovered brown butter noodles! A stand alone side dish! I could fill up with just these!
This is awesome! I usually use frozen egg noodles for chicken and noodles, but haven’t been able to find any locally…I live in a small town. This looks pretty easy! Thanks for sharing!
parchment paper or a cutting board to turn the rectangle so you can cut long noodles if you like ? a metal spatula perhaps for getting them up ? not a noodle maker here, but going to try! :)
Winter storm coming, went to store. Got everything I need for my sour cream noddle bake except medium egg noodles. Not to worry , I remember my grandmother making noodles. She didn’t use the egg whites if I remember correctly. Anyhow they came out delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I've looked for dried Egg Noodles in the store for 3 weeks, now. The shelves are empty! So, I decided I should just make my own. Thanks for the tutorial!
To cook, bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Add noodles to boiling water and cook until tender (how long this will take will depend on how thick or thin your noodles are, it can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes).
A friend sent me the link to this video, and I can't wait to make my own egg noodles. I've been on a Stroganoff kick as the season turns cool, and egg noodles are my favorite vehicle for the dish. Could I lightly beat the eggs in the bowl before pouring them into the flour well, or is there a reason to beat them in the flour?
If the batter was too runny, yes I don’t think they will be the right consistency. Did you weigh your flour by chance? Sounds like the wet to dry ingredient ratio may have been just a bit off. I hope they were still tasty! 😊
Do not salt your noodle dough. It makes the kneading process so much more difficult and results in noodles that are way to thick. Adam Ragusea just uploaded a video about why you should never salt your noodle dough but instead should salt the water when you cook them.
I always add to many or two few noodles to my chicken broth. Please someone tell us how much liquid (soup) this recipe will need. I always guess wrong. Thanks.
I'm sorry you had issues with the dough, Ron! 🙁 If you read the recipe, you'll notice that I start with the 250g and then add additional flour as needed until the right consistency is reached. You may not need the full 310g, and if you added all of the flour at once instead of adding it gradually, this is probably why you had trouble working the dough.
Do you have that amazing KitchenAid behind you. There is a noodle attachment that is incredible. It will make the noodles skinny or wide. And you can cut them with scissors as it’s coming out of the attachment. To the link that you want to be
Huh, yea. Followed your recipe to the tee! They sucked, didn't turn out. Did exactly what you did in the video, so there should have been no reason they turned out bad.
I love that you showed that yours weren't perfect. I think sometimes people set unrealistic expectations for their stuff because they see an edited video with no flaws.

Everything isn't always perfect, but it's still good. :)

Thanks for sharing this video with us! I’ve heard many Older adults who say, “ flour up your surface and don’t worry about using too much flour”.

Yum! That sounds delicious!
We do the same in my family. In fact I just got Turkey broth from the meat market and made some last week 😂 ❤
I make everything from scratch and I’ve never heard of oyster dressing. I’m gonna have to look that up.
Thank you so much for the great video, I'm going to try doing it your way I love to have noodles with my meals

😂 You're definitely not alone there!
Thanks l love how you explain everthing and showing different way to prepare the noodles
My pleasure 😊
I made this recipe today. They turned out wonderful!
I’m so glad everyone enjoyed them so much! 😊
The pizza cutter idea is actually great, I'll do it next time!
Mom said I'm too old to not know how to make homemade noodles 😫. Thanks for sharing I learned today made chicken and noodles with it 🥰 is amazing 😋
Sounds delicious! 😊

Enjoy! 😊

Thanks! Can you make another but add some chicken and mashed potatoes? Also add chicken broth, its a tasty meal!
Happy cooking🧑🍳
Made these last night and they turned out perfect. Awesome recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Of course! I'm so happy you like them 😊

I'm so happy you found my recipe, Kathy! Homemade is always better anyway 😊 Enjoy!
You can dry them a bit before cutting and cooking by hanging the rolled dough on newspaper over a clothesline.
Make an egg well...jus those words made me think of my childhood making egg noodles with daddy🥰
☺️
Hi this is exactly what I have been looking for much thanks am going to try this
I hope you love them! 😊
glad to know that the egg noodle recipe i came up with matched a normal one
Great video. How long do you cook them?
Amazing! Thank you for sharing. I’m excited to make them tomorrow..
Hope you love them! 😊
This recipe worked great!!
That's awesome! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
....My Mom allowed the rolled dough to dry out a bit by placing it on a bed sheet for an hour, then roll into a tube and cut. Thanks .
That's a pretty cool way to do it! :)
I am 56yr old and was wondering why you don't Mix the eggs prior to adding to the flour?
I love egg noodles and they're so easy to make, I definitely wanna try this
You should!
Sorry if I missed it but how long do we cook them, thank you.

Made these today so good thanks!
Glad you like them!
will be trying to make these for a copycat recipe of souplantation's/sweet tomatoes' chicken noodle recipe, ty for the video
Enjoy!
I love you for this one 💙

My husband favorite noodles. I will try this
Hope you both enjoy them 😊
Can you bake them and save them for later? I like to have noodles ready to go, so is it possible to make a large batch and dry them for storage?
You shouldn’t cook them, you should dry them. I have instructions in the recipe link for how to do that. 😊
Sugar Spun Run, thank you. I must have missed that part. 😉
I'm going to make these today, use them in a noodle kugel with fresh Georgia peaches, and serve it to my brunch group!
I hope they turn out great for you 🙂
@@SugarSpunRun They came out perfect, and my guests loved the kugel! YAY!
I will keep watch!
Could we rest it overnight?
That will work just fine! :)
I enjoyed the video :) where's her accent from? I find it a little funny the way she says "eggs"
Do I have to let these dry out before cooking them or can I cook them right after making them?
You can just cook them right away. 😊
Awesome! Thank you so much. Had to sub of course. Will be making these for first Tim tomorrow. Cross fingers, say prayers. ;)
I hope you love them! :)
Amoeba shaped 😂 Great recipe
🤣 Thank you! :)
Can we store these for later use by drying them?
Can this be made with gluten free flour??
Great job With Ms Sam. Take care of that shoulder.
I tried to make your blondies recipe and I used the same measurements but the batter was a little more liquid will that change the outcome
If the batter was too runny, yes I don’t think they will be the right consistency. Did you weigh your flour by chance? Sounds like the wet to dry ingredient ratio may have been just a bit off. I hope they were still tasty! 😊
Should the dough be sticky while kneading?
If it's too sticky you can always work in more flour. I would say it should be a little more tacky rather than sticky. :)
Is it better to beat your eggs before adding them to the well of flour?
It’s not necessary, you can just scramble them right in the well as you stir everything together
I haven't made egg noodles in over 4 decades. How long does it take for them to dry so we can use them? Thanks!
Hi Marie! After kneading, the dough will need to rest for about 20 minutes. Once it's rested, the noodles are ready to be cut and used right away. 😊
@@SugarSpunRun Thank you! :)
How long do you cook them?
Cook until tender. This can vary depending how thick/thin your noodles are, anywhere between 5-15 minutes. :)
How long do you boil them for?
It depends how thick you make them. The boiling time can range anywhere from 5-15 minutes or even longer.
so how do i save the noodles? I cant eat a pound of noodles all at one time.
Hi Rachel! You can dry them out and store them in an air tight container in the refrigerator for several days, or several months in the freezer. :)
Do not salt your noodle dough. It makes the kneading process so much more difficult and results in noodles that are way to thick. Adam Ragusea just uploaded a video about why you should never salt your noodle dough but instead should salt the water when you cook them.
Can you dry them?
Sure thing! You can lay them out on a clean towel or pasta rack until dried out. 😊
Do these freeze well?
Yes, once completely dried, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several days or in the freezer for several months. 😊
Nice 👌
Thanks 😊
I always add to many or two few noodles to my chicken broth. Please someone tell us how much liquid (soup) this recipe will need. I always guess wrong. Thanks.
your recipe states 310g of flour and the video cc states 250g. the 310g makes it crumply and need to almost double the water
I used to make my home made egg noodle but now I buy Amish egg noodles or kluska noodles.
So not self rising? Just all purpose flour
You should use all-purpose flour 🙂
Niicceeeeee 🤙 ✨ 👩🍳 🎶
If you make too many, just let dry and freeze them for the future.
Great idea! :)
You dont need to dry out the noodles before cooking? Awesome. Time saving.
Nope. I hope you love them! :)
Any egg noodles without flour
I do not have any unfortunately. :(
I made that, my grandpa can cook it, he can make it without repice
That’s awesome! 😊
Thank you:)
Can u double the recipe if u need more?
Sure thing! :)

I actually do have the attachment, but not everyone does and I like to make things accessible for all. 😊
suggest baking on cookie sheet 3 -5 mins @ 350 F
You don't let your noodles dry out? That was how I was taught.
You can if you want to save them! Typically I use mine shortly after making them.
@@SugarSpunRun thank you for your reply.
Um i messed up didn't come out that well
O no! :(
What’s an aig noodle. I searched for egg noodle
Hmm, I'm not sure about that one Suzie.
“eygs”
Gonna add these ayygzz
1/16 of a paper thin😳
I’m lazy, I use my kitchenaid. then use the pasta attachment.😂
Whatever works! :)
🤗🤣 I have my own chickens, the yolks are way too stiff for me to be able to scramble that easily.
It seems like you could have saved some time by using a stand mixer.
*THIS IS ALL FLOUR NOODLES. NOT EGG NOODLES. SO WE’LL AD SOME MORE FLOUR.* 😂
Huh, yea. Followed your recipe to the tee! They sucked, didn't turn out. Did exactly what you did in the video, so there should have been no reason they turned out bad.
So weird. This recipe has been used for over 50 years so I’m not sure why you struggled. 🤷♀️
People come up with the craziest stuff... But she's my youtube girlfriend though.
Let's make "egg noodles". Start out with flour... Wait, what? "Egg noodles", therefore, is a misnomer. That's sad.
Well there are eggs in the noodles, but you need some sort of structure.
Wooowww.
Fold! Dont stir!
