Brooks is a fantastic drummer and a worthy replacement. The guy can play everything from metal to thrash to punk to funk. Stints in suicidal tendencies, infectious grooves, bad religion and avenged sevenfold.

He was low key interested in what was going on.
I mean tbf after knowing what he went through at the end of their tour, he doesn’t like to scream like that anymore as he wants to protect his voice. I agree. It’s not as good without the hard screams but it’s not who they are anymore.

Oh ok, burn it down is a good song too, not as heavy but good.
The drums on this entire album have been incremental and played to perfection. I am so happy that Brooks played them to the beat.

My favourite song by any band ever....from the second i heard it when it came out, and nothing has ever beat it. Its perfect. Luckily I got to see A7X perform it back in the day, when Shadows still screamed.

I feel bad for that kid, he never had a chance to succeed in the band. They had to have known they were getting a younger attitude when they got him.

@@chiefzackery6651 I mean the thing about portnoy is they didn't want to become under the wings of portnoy cuz he's already legendary and he is well known for being a control freak ! And why brooks fits perfectly because he is so talented and he understood how the band writes and approaches new music and he listens to the bands choices and work on them. Take a look at the making off of the stage songs and you'll understand. Sorry for the long comment.

Definitely one of my favorite songs and I'm glad they still play their older stuff, but he just doesn't have the scream that he once did and it just sounds awkward to me.
Don't get me wrong, they are awesome, but he can't do the screaming he once could.

@@strawhart brooks main rapih kok, secara skill drumming brooks jam terbangnya udah tinggi, apalagi dia mantan drummer bad religion. cuman kalo jimmy selain skillfull dia ada aura tersendiri kalo ngedrum, mungkin karena dia pas ngedrum suka nampilin gerakan yang eksentrik sama suka scream / jadi backing vokal sambil ngedrum

Jack Connelly after nightmare he started making the transition to mostly singing with his head voice for longevity. He can still sing like he use to he just chooses not to anymore.
I think you mean back in ‘03. Nonetheless, I still enjoy Matt’s new vocal style. Still much better than everything after Waking the Fallen imo.
jwalkblue nah man I’m not talking about his screaming. Singers utilize head voice or chest voice. For every album until the stage he was using mostly chest voice which can be damaging over time. Now he’s using a new approach so his voice can last
