Rest In Peace, Jimmy.
A7x foREVer
Trips me out because I am older than my biggest inspiration in drums 😶...Rev foREVer! 🤟
Miss him
Nice Profile pic haha
Oh my god, I can't believe I was 12. It does not feel like it's been that long at all, rest in peace
"come here ya fuckin...stallion, duck.."

His vocals in Critical Acclaim were phenomenal
A clooooooooooooooooonnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
I have two words for you.
Pinkly smooth
A clooooooooonneee
😂
@@zeronegative659 it seems everyone knows Rev but not about Pinkly Smooth.
Awwwwh I miss him.
Whether or not you like A7X, try and deny that he was a kind soul.
Avenged is awesome.
Cowol Jar Woff and whether or not you like A7x, you have to admit that he's a fuckin phenomenal drummer.
That too
The song it's called betrayed. It's a tribute to dimebag darrell!
Cowol Jar Woff true true
My biggest inspiration and reason why started to play drums. R.I.P Rev
Aku Toivola he's also the reason I started to play drums to
Aku Toivola Dude you finnish?! Is so,terve!!😂👋
Sonja Skip moi
+Sonja Skip yep im from helsinki :D
Aku Toivola Oh shit nice:D Ooks menos näkee Avengedii livenä??
never thought I would have so much respect for someone who violently smacked pidgeons out of the air.
"You can't trust us humans !" *violently smack it*
when was this
If he did that then I have no respect for him at all.
The Critigamer, to be fair, he was drunk as shit at the time, and besides, if you're that pissed over motherfucking pigeons of all things, then wait until you face the real world.
DarkKnightKNine when did that even happen??? Could u find the link about that??
I didn’t even know who he was when he was alive and I still miss him
AWOLPSYCHO same here, same here
Same
He passed away when I was 11... back in the days when I thought Metal was nothing but Satan-worshipping maniacs screaming into a microphone for 6 minutes. Thank God I now see it can be so much more than that
Same to me brother...
Same here never really knew of him until he passed and was hooked on his work since, his drumming on city of evil was probably his best work. Tho I’m not the biggest fan of that album but his drumming came through. His mike portnoy influences really came through on that album. Wish he was still alive today, as we all know he had so much more to offer
One of the few drummers that was a great part of the songwriting process. Not to mention, he played drums while singing... He wrote some of A7X's biggest songs...
hi
The person who got his drumsticks at the final show... I will do anything to have them !!
Gha Nima You'll have to get past me first.
khairowensullivan I will then make you leader of the world so you don’t stab me 50 times.
I said the same lol
my son caught one at download! he is tall n a little guy tried to climb him to grab it! he just said " dude do you really wanna try this?" it is now pride of place on his wall of fame! next to a photo of him n his bro with the band backstage when I got them vip tickets! fam of fans here!
it's been 5 years idk If you'd still be wanting to buy them but I actually have a drumstick from the final show currently selling it for 5,000 just give me some your info or somewhere else I can contact you on insta or snap and ill give you more information about it and send you pictures for proof if intrested
The rev and joey jordison are having an epic drum battle right now. Rest in power to both of these kings 🤘
Neil Peart is givin lessons with John Bonham
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've never seen the video of the revs final show until now. That shit hit me in the feels
Nickanator58 u can search avenged sevenfold live in sepenphore 2009 its the last perform of jimmy
Sonisphere sorry
Looks like he already doesn't feel good, those face he make when he threw the sticks is like saying "im so tired" 😢
@@rizkyadvendeo9149 well he did just play a entire show and drummers get really tired really fast and use up SO much energy
@@ssokenpersonal5709 he should've gotten a snickers
For those who don't know, at M. Shadows wedding clip he was talking to Syn and his girl (she became syn's wife). he's talking about "i miss my chance" or something like that and he said "don't miss your chance" to them and hugged them :3
💔💔💔💔
Radya Mardika so, that girl was Jimmy gf? and then she became Syn's wife?...
+Charixtys noo it's Syn gf which eventually became his wife
and that was one of Jimmy's last moment
Radya Mardika Oh sorry, my bad. I misunderstanding at 'he was talking to Syn and his girl...' at that point I think 'his girl' means Jimmy' gf xD
Mike is good,Arin is good,Wack is good, but nobody will ever replace Jimmy.R.I.P Jimmy foREVer.
Sorry but Mike is the best drummer ever to walk on this planet....i love Jimmy and i think he was one of the greatest but man....NO ONE CAN BEAT Mike
@@igorpodemski9596 wackerman
IGOR PODEMSKI Mike is batter the Jimmy, but I don’t think he really could have replaced him as good as wAckerman did
Cheese is Jar Jimmy had more potencial than Mike, he died just too soon.
1 The rev
2 Mike or Brooks
4 Erin
Avenged is a bunch of prodigies. The singer grew into a great singer.
Richard Herzog Many have different opinions of him, just has his own raspy style of singing. and I love it
I love everything by them
thats why they are my fav band after SOAD!!!!
Love Metal Same. A7X and SOAD are my two favorite bands.
Joey Rizzo mine too
Richard Herzog A7X, Shinedown, and FFDP are my top rock bands. All unique and awesome in their own ways 🎸👌😎
I just was introduced to this band this year, so I had no idea about this guy. When watching documentaries and learning about his death though, the thing that got me the most was his face. He died at 28 and had the face of a child. Somehow innocent and adorable. Eyes sparkling and filled with dreams. So funny. And that was what made me cry, cry for a guy I didn't know about until 9 years after his death. That's crazy. I never mourned somebody I never knew personally. So, this guy and this band really got me.
final performance *wipes tears*
the Rev is the type of person I've wanted to be through out my life lol
Crimson Fenix Thats a pretty short life. Try being yourself, youll have better odds.
Crimson Fenix SAMEEEE
Ditto.
R.I.P The Rev. You will be forever missed.
Damn I miss him so fuckin much. Come back knife master! #foREVer
Knife Master the world would be such a better place with him imagine all the possibilities it's really sad he's gone
Nathan Jones Yes exactly bro. I wonder how a7x's new songs will be if jimmy is still alive. Miss his creativity and killer beats.
Knife Master I think Brooks will be the closest we get to Jimmy honestly. Phenomenal drummer and it sounds like Jimmy playing for the most part.
SuperPinkFloyd79 Yeah man ikr, Jimmy can't be replaced. I'm happy with Brooks, he is doing a great job :)
RatHead Master Oh yeah definitely, there will never be another Jimmy, Brooks is just the closest we'll get and that's okay with me. Hopefully they keep him long term
This guy had some serious talent! I remeber when city of evil came out how i was blown away by the work he put into that drum kit! Legend for ever!
I had already decided he was my favorite drummer after StST and WtF.
Ive been listening to a lot of Waking the Fallen lately, dude was awesome. The controlled intensity he contributed on drums was absolutely legendary!
The bongos or whatever kind of toms those are at the end of sidewinder sound so good
Can't believe it's already been 7 years since Jimmy passed.
I'm sure he'll be jamming with his idol, Dimebag!
His parts in fiction should have been on this list, but a good list anyway
YEEE
I have such a hard time listening to "Fiction" and "So Far Away". I love them but, they're just too emotional. "Fiction" was a piece of priceless art but, so f'ing sad. :(
His singing in Fiction is hauntingly beautiful.
Chester Bennington his vocals from the demo are used in the final recording
As a drummer it's sometimes difficult to be impressed when hearing (back then) new stuff. Not out of arrogance or anything like that and I'm far from being anything close to great, but you start to feel like metal drum parts are, well, predictably fast, predictably energetic, but..... predictable. Then I heard Jimmy play and it got to me. He wasn't "just," a drummer. He was a musician. His playing was rich, technically challenging but above ALL else: thoughtful. His playing was thoughtful. He created drum parts that went well beyond drum beats. We lost him too soon but I am grateful that I have his work to admire and enjoy today. I don't care if you like or don't like A7X. But please trust me (and many other drummers) when I write that Rev was special. He was just that fucking amazing.
He wrote hooks. Not common in percussion.
I’ve said something like this for years. He tells stories with his drumming. Favorite drummer of all time.
When Rev's favorite drummer, Mike Portnoy formerly of Dream Theater, stepped in on the nightmare album, it really showed how cool people can be. Dream Theater is great, I like A7X too, so it was cool to see MP playing with them.
badron11 yeah MP is a total beast fantastic drummer and I love DT
I love the jab MP gives the album cause he's used to playing Prog. I don't remember quite what it was but he was poking fun at the time signature he would be playing in.
When Jimmy gave his blessings to Brian and Mich, he said "I should marry you two" which was so adorable.
Mich once said that when Brian and her was started dating, it was basically she, Brian, & Jimmy hanging out together.
They're just so precious.
I miss the knife master.
that was Syns wedding wasn't it? They wrote it off as M. Shadows.
Brian Velez no it's shad's wedding
No, I don't Remember much of the details, but supposedly during Matt and Val's wedding Brian proposed to Michelle. And that video is sort of like Jimmy giving he's blessings and congratulations.
How much time before he died?
Brian Velez it was there’s in the same day
Dead
He's not dead, he'll come back from the forest as the knife masta' one day.
With an army of stallion ducks
My friend and I make this joke all the time, glad we're not the only ones
MegaCake1234 only two more months and we’ll have jimmy back!!!!
Imagine if that actually happened!!!
idk i think he passed away
The Rev had a voice that could hit you with emotion, amazing drum skills, a great sense of humor, and most of all, a loving personality, gone too soon, R.I.P. foREVer, man.
I always forget how technically gifted he truly was. If he was still alive he'd probably be doing like drum clinics alongside Brann Dailor, Danny Carey and other drum virtuosos because he truly was that good.
what an awesome drummer he is
got me all emotional
I'm all in tears watching this
Rest in peace, Jimmy.
“Jimmy jumped into life and never touched bottom”. No truer words ... RIP foREVer 😰💔
One of the best drummers who have ever lived, thank you for all the music you've done RIP Jimmy
wow, not even close dude
@@krokikrisi Fuck you.
He wasn't even the best drummer in avenged. Mike Portnoy was! Need to check out dream theatre Mike's original band
jeff stuart No, the nightmare album drum track were written by The Rev before he died idiot, Mike did just play them.
@@krokikrisi fuck you x2
the Joker in A7X e bet he is still alive, because his memories dont die
He's the knife master, and he'll be back... LOL Man Jimmy's death affected me so much... That was the first time I was literally in tears, as far as someone I never knew dying. Jimmy was a fan of Zappa and Terry Bozzio... A true original. Mr. Sullivan...
yes 😢
What a legend. We love and miss you Jimmy. RIP 💔
Am I the only one who remembers the knifemaster?
SlimRolla1 I remember.
SlimRolla1 TEH KNIFEMASTA
SlimRolla1 I'm here
Hard to forget something that amazing.
SlimRolla1 Are you fucking kidding me? You go to to a The Rev Top 10 Unforgettable Moments and you ask if you're the only one that remembers him? Really?
such a genuine real guy, not really an A7X fan but its hard to see someone that nice die so young I teared up a bit at the end
Me and my drummer Owen hugged and cried in the middle of the courtyard in front of the entire school the day jimmy died. You'll be missed forever man, Rest in Paradise mate!
My alarm every morning is "Almost Easy." This guy was a huge part of this band. I have been following them since 2006 "ish". I'll never forget the ride to the beach when Ipod's were a thing and I shared a set with my best friend when he introduced me to them. It was the most amazing thing I had ever heard. I listened to them in the background while playing Gears of War 2, MW2, and so on. Every night we would listen to them as we hung out. It hurt me deeply whenever he passed away and to this day I feel like the Nightmare album was one of the best albums they ever released. The Rev was a huge part of this band. He had amazing vocals and his drumming skills were out of this world. His song writing ability was spot on as well, it added a lot of character to the band. He will be forever missed and it's been quite some time since I have heard his voice and drumming skills bless an album but he will live on foREVer!
we dont just need more drummers like him, we need more people like him. jimmy was absolutely amazing
One of very best drummers of all time. Good singer too. Rest in power, Rev
Who’s here Of December 28 2019 remember a decade long since his passion and wants to remember Such a legendary Drummer
i think that when you see his last performance, you can see he's not doing good... just because of the way he looked and his clothes like he didnt bother getting ready anymore.
I have played the drums for years and its drummers like the Rev that make me lose all hope of being good. So much dedication. Whole nother level. won't stop me from trying though
"That's the biggest fucking duck i've ever seen in my life"
Dude, i miss James :(
RIP The Rev, off to chase the great stallion duck in the sky.
Samoclese haha. 😢
Samoclese yeah... he will catch that duck one day...
He'll be right next to God riding the Stallion Duck on Judgement Day
Its a Canada goose you fucking tools
Watching this brings so much pain. The Rev was an amazing drummer with such a personality; it's sad we can't see/hear him perform anymore.
On another note, thank you to whoever recorded the Beast and the Harlot drum cam.
"LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT F***IN' DUCK!"
Stallion duck
Itz Steven the duck that was the size of a horse so it was named stallion duck.
I miss him! He's a phenomenal drummer and nobody can replace him! Rest in Peace! You left a lasting impression in the lives of many!
The rev of the best drummer of his generation, We lost him WAY to soon.
Rest In Peace
FoREVer, I will always miss you Bro
00:53 I was there. So glad I got to see that legend at a live show.
What a hell of a fucking musician we lost . Avenged hasn't been the same ever since . RIP big boy
Rest In Peace Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan.
This is what Legends are made of. Pure craziness and a full load of talent.
Jimmy lived life, and accomplished more in 28 years than most people do in 80 years. Truly one of kind, and one of the best human beings to ever be.
One of the few who could sing while he was drumming. Fucking legend
My idol as a drummer myself, without The Rev I'd never have become a musician. R.I.P brother you are a part of heavens orchestra now! You left us with the greatest albums and you are missed worldwide...a true shame that I never saw you in person jamming away but you left me with a lifetime of material to study.
Jimmy was the kind of man who would fight until his pants falls off. A truly inspiring man
Those fighting skill man he can kill Jackie chan with those
This comment cheered me up i was sad he died then this comment fixed that problem
LilCapone432 all he needs is some katanas and he could come back alive and rule the world.
@@wintershock nah I think knives are enough if you know what i mean...
Whoever got those drumsticks at the final performance is a lucky son of a bitch.
R.I.P Rev. Everyone’s favorite drummer. Gone Too Soon
rip ;(
I am so thankful I was able to see them live before he went to Heaven.
I slept on these guys when they came out. I just finally realized how good they are.
Favorite drummer of all time ❤ he's in peace now
His crazy😅😅 i miss him soooo much
his vocals are something else
God it makes so far away SO MUCH SADDER seeing the backstage karate one and hearing them legit laugh at each other and like you only get that laugh from a friendship as old as time itself and it must be the hardest thing to lose someone like that and i have a lot of respect and empathy for these guys and as someone who wants to grow up playing huge stadiums and make it big i really am scared of the times ahead but i guess you just gotta go through it and ya know just stick to it
I miss Jimmy so much
Every moment with The Rev was unforgettable because The Rev himself is and always will be unforgettable. Hail to the one and only King
Now he's playing drums for the Beasts and Harlots in the Afterlife.
oof r.i.p. the master of the ride symbol and the double bass drums
I come back to this video every time that I can. 10 years, Jimmy. 10 years.
#foREVer
Loudwire you guys should make a fact or fiction with the guys in avenged and talk about the rev in it to
Mvstic__ not sure but I think that would be a bad idea considering they were all best friends and like brothers and I think that they would not want to answer questions like that. I may be wrong but death for someone that close is never easy to talk about
Guitar Pick they've spoke about it in interviews and podcasts before
C Marshall yeah but that doesn’t mean they could just bring them in and ask stuff about Jimmy.
Asyssant true. That would bring back lots of pain because when you talk about dead family members, pets or friends you are remembering the day they left you. I can’t bring myself to talk about my great uncle or both of my grandmas.
@@eatenbyghouls1849 Yeah, but they've shown signs they didn't want to discuss it.
I've already got over his death and forgotten about him, and I've gotten used to A7x's new drummers. But seeing these moments with him again has really caused me to have nostalgia and miss this guy a lot. Rest in peace, dude
You've teased us enough, where's the A7X f or f?
lpggriff what are u on about lol
Charlie Wade f or f is Fact or Fiction
I know, I want a fact or fiction for A7X xD
His back up vocals are probably my favorite. His voice is so distinctive.
16 Dislikes are people that are too sad he died.
This dude was phenomenal. Insane drummer, had a great singing voice, wrote a bunch of A7Xs hits, great pianist and was funny af. His legacy will last foREVer
i was in shock when i saw his last concert omfg
He literally was he best drummer in the world, aswell as an amazing singer and pianist. And to think he could have given up at such an early age!!! He could do things literally no one else could do!! And how likable and awesome he was!!
The Rev @3:35 = Dwight Schrute when he does his black belt ceremony in The Office
He’s my musical inspiration despite the fact that I’ll never have his skill set.
one of the best christmas gift from loudwire. thanks !
RIP Jimmy. You will forever be remembered as the legendary drummer and songwriter that you were. You work is immortalized and we love and miss you very much.
THE REV IS MY BIGGEST INFLUENCE AND IDOL!!! WE LOVE YOU KNIFE MASTER
Jimmy was a musical genius. And an absolute goofball. Absolute legend
RIP My favourite Stallion Duck Hunter!!!!
Loudwire could you do an Wikipedia Fact or fiction with any A7X member. Sure I'm not the only one who would love to see that!!!
will always hold a place in my heart RIP REV almost 7 years now :(
Dammit, Rev! why'd you have to go and OD on us. a genius at the drums, lost forever. *drops a shot of whiskey to the ground, in respect*
2017 and still can't believe it jimmy is gone
I'm not going to say first because I will insult the memory of the fallen drum beast. RIP
you weren't first anyway
I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself. I get such joy and sadness watching the rev
foREVer in our hearts
Late comment, but i cant even IMAGINE the amount of drummers he inspired. RIP The Rev
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!
I remember how much i used to love this band.
Good bye The Rev you is my favorite drummer
Omg when I heard Jimmy singing my heart dropped😞❤️❤️
Been waiting for this rip jimmy
My son was at the Sonisphere festival. He's seen legends no longer with us at this and the Download festivals. I envy him. The loss of Paul Gray, The Rev, Keith Flint, Chester Bennington and now Jordy Jordison..to name just a few. From the most influential bands of his generation. RIP.
