A couple things to note from my knowledge of the game. First, probably important to mention that the terraprisma is technically a hidden item. Someone playing the game without going online probably isn't going to find out about it, and that's probably why its on the iceberg. Second, I think Red actually joked about and "confirmed" the WoF is the guide. Another thing about the WoF iirc is that it originally came from the cthulhu idea. The image mock up of him had the idea of him slowly walking across the world, but proved difficult to implement. The moving across the world idea was then used for the WoF because it works better. Take this info with a grain of salt though, 1.1 was a long time ago and I could be misremembering. Now the unknowns. Daedalus Stormbow is probably just referring to how broken it was (similar to the golden shower reference) Water candle King Slime is a very old bug in the game. It used to be that when the game was minimized it wouldn't pause, but would accelerate the game logic. There was an old trick to farm king slime in the outer thirds of the world using this and a water candle, since he couldn't kill you if you were boxed in. The mp3's and "Expert Mode" are probably just references to themselves. This is a stretch, but the Lunatic Cultist Reverse neural network could be referring to how he splits into multiple during the fight? Or maybe something with his audio? I'm not entirely sure.
I have my own thoery: There is a sentient AI in Terraria's code. This AI will read your mind and know what item you are farming for. Once it knows what you are farming for, it will make sure that it takes 5744733828 years to get. It's not an evil AI or anything but I swear whenever you need item it takes forever to get but whenever you don't need an item you get it instantly.

The Guide has the Happiness quote: "Having around makes me feel at ease, as though a curse was finally lifted from me." when near the princess. The Zoologist has the happiness quote "Like, the Princess has her subjects searching for a way for me to break my fox curse! Yass!" This leads me to wonder who her subjects are and what powers she possesses. The Empress of Light and Princess are also both connected to Japanese origins (Princess can have Japanese names and EoL was inspired by a Japanese project). Perhaps the two are connected in some way. After all, they are both royalty.
"roORGH" is actually a sound file in Terraria that's supposed to be for when you summon a boss. "WRAOWWW" is a sound file implemented into Terraria for a WOF Sound when it's summoned. Both sound files are implemented in the game's code.

I bet the "Terraria is a post Chernobyl" thing is referring to how a lot of enemies, like the hornets for example are much bigger and mutated than an actual hornet, and how a lot of enemies are scaled up from how they normally would be.
The Truffle is not angry at you because you take his children, he is angry because you steal them without paying anything. He has no problems with selling his own child(The "Strange Glowing Mushroom") for 45 gold.
Maybe the baby truffle is a hologram. Because I've noticed that he's strangely translucent and when he needs to catch up to you he just reappears out of thin air when you touch the ground. And the Strange Glowing Mushroom is the creator/host of said hologram.

I was reading up on the “The Moon Lord is a hallucination” theory when suddenly it hit me. The other day I was watching a video where this dude put all of the NPCs against all the Terraria bosses in order. At the end of the video, when he summoned the Moon Lord, they didn’t even attack it. The NPCs don’t attack the Moon Lord because it’s not really there. Though this kind of falls off when you consider the fact that the Moon Lord can damage the NPCs but even then you can tie it together with the “the player is the villain” theory and then things get even darker.
My suggestion about the hallucination theory is maybe the npc’s getting hit by moonlord is actually caused by your character lashing out at them due to them hallucinating and becoming insane
I hate how after a new guide arrives after the wall of flesh fight he says “kinda odd how my predecessor randomly combusted into flames” it makes the WoF guide theory more truthful
Ok look,im sorry if i didn't underatand everything fully but,in the wiki part about the LORE of the game,it says basically this : "the wall of flesh is the guardian of the world of terraria,it is the core of the planet and the guide its his humanoid version,it contains inside of him the spirits of darkness which he is in charge of not letting out on the world(since he is the core and the Guardian of terraria),when you kill him you are actually just liberating the spirits of darkness in to the world, the "light" spirits are actually the result of the terraria world trying to contain the corruption(or crimson) on it since now there is no guardian anymore, and it will do everything it can to stop the darkness from consuming the world UNTIL a new guardian is chosen to take Wall of Flesh's place, maybe the guide that comes after the one you killed to summon the wall of flesh is like, who he was supposed to be if the wall of flesh wasn't controlling him anymore or something like that
@@GustavoLima-wf5ti I font really read the lore that much What I was trying to say was, what if the guide that arrives after the wall of flesh is killed, was watching you the whole time, it creeps me out
All the stuff the companion cube dose is a reference to everything glados saids! She even said something about it stabbing you, and the Zapinator was a bata test gun that was op af it wasn’t ok it was only made for our devs, it was removed because of fear of a lawsuit from Nintendo because it was based off of the duck hunt gun... it was added back with permission from Nintendo but it accidentally being kept in the game in our early years was NOT ok at all, as a small company they obviously feared Nintendo
I saw a level three theory saying the zoologist committed murder. I think this is a reference to something she might say: "one time at critter camp when I woke up the whole place was destroyed! I can't believe I slept through that." Because she is a werewolf, I believe she destroyed the camp without realizing it.
The Daedalus stormbow is a reference to the ancient inventor Daedalus, who was exiled from his home country by king Minos. So to return home he had to go through the air since the king can’t own the air. Daedalus then invented wings, having placed feathers binded with wax along a wooden frame. The arrows from the sky suggest that Daedalus himself is firing the arrows down at your cursor. This reference makes sense because re-logic references his son, Icarus, in the achievement for going to the top of the world. Also icarus died but Daedalus didn’t so it makes since that it is “Daedalus stormbow” and not “icarus stormbow”. I only know this because I translate myths in my Latin class.
But they were made of some kind of wax so he told his son to not go to high. His son didn’t listen, and eventually suffered his fate when the wax started melting due to the sun’s heat.
@@totallynotme8153 Held together by wax actually. But the rest was correct in that Icarus flew too close to the sun after being specifically told not to because it would melt the wax holding it together. Funny enough this myth is why we have the saying of "Don't fly too close to the sun"
The story I know about Dedalus and Icarus is that Dedalus was an inventor and an architect. The king of Mykonos forced him to build a maze (or a Dedalus if you prefer hehe) in which then he locked him and his son (Icarus). So Dedalus and the son build wings out of wax and feathers, Icarus gets cocky, fly to close to the sun, wax melts, he fall in the ocean, big F
As for the "every NPC is a waifu/husbando" theory, the Steampunker has a chance to be named Whitney, the real name of Cenx, Redigit's wife. If she's named Whitney, the Steampunker drops Ivy, a guitar. IDK if Cenx plays the guitar IRL but she is a fan of Pantera, so she does have an interest in metal at least. So maybe not every NPC is a waifu but there's definitely one who is.

A lot of the iceberg is 'being a new player' vs 'being a more experienced player'. I quite recently got into Terraria, right before the 1.4 update dropped. Overworld Day is what you hear when you first boot into the game, it's a pretty 'top layer' thing. The 2nd layer, you discover more about the game and find out that the daedalus stormbow is really strong, and you discover the corruption music. You also defeat moon lord and play expert mode. 3rd layer, you cry yourself to sleep because of the Terraprisma and move onto mods. And so on. Not all of them have drama or an easter egg to them.
The "roORGH" sound... I am pretty sure when I was younger, and played Terraria, the "roORGH" sound was known for being extremely scary. At some point, a creepy video got sent around in my school, where that "roORGH" sound was used. For a boy at my age, it was absolutely terrifying. I think the reasoning for it being this list, originates from going into the dungeon as a kid, well knowing that a giant instakilling skeleton head could kill you at any second, and yet you would still venture down to look for waterbolts. For me, as the young boy I was, it meant that my body would prepare for the scream, and my focus would 100% be on the task at hand. So whenever the scream came, true terror would rush through my body, as I tried escaping the grasps of skeletron, and the ever dangerous spinning head, that was sent my way. It's either this, or maybe it could be this theory I heard once, about a giant monster birthing, or creating all of these bosses. Every time a boss was summoned, the monster would cry out in pain, as another one of its children were summoned. That would explain why it's the same kind of scream, for some of the bosses.
Fun fact, when me and my brother played on Kindle, there was a glitch where if he turned off his Kindle while playing local multiplayer, it would 'log him off' while his character remained, completely immobile but invincible for about two minutes. We used this to lure the Dungeon Guardian to him, then I shot him with about 9000-10000 heart arrows- the mobile-exclusive ones that freeze enemies- until he died. Unfortunately, they hadn't yet added the Guardian pet, so it was mostly just for bragging rights..
Here's a theory: The monster spawns are all based off of how scared a player is. And the monsters your mind creates come to life, and they can affect what you think of next. If you take a look at the wall of flesh, it's something straight out of a horror movie. After defeating it, you fear that it's allies will get worse. So it does. I believe the exception with skeletron is that you don't choose to fight the dungeon guardian, since you see it as a godlike being that will instantly kill you. But when you summon skeletron, you think you can beat him. And that placebo weakens him. If we look at sunflowers and calming potions, they reduce monster spawns, because they simply calm you down.
And as well there's the fact that in stressful situations, you won't always make the best decisions. Meaning you will die because your brain can't get its shit together
With the guide being the wall of flesh, it would make sense that he has the knowledge to making things that wouldn't have even existed before the wall of flesh dies (aka knowing how to make hardcore gear in pre-hardcore mode). Also makes sense how he gives hints to where nearly everyone is and how to bring them home. A normal person wouldn't know to make items using the souls of spirits that have been locked away for god knows how many years with in a terraria world that holds no information regarding them.
About the Ice Biome Memory Hole, this reminded me that worlds generated around Valentines day used to have “heart shrines” found in ice biomes. They where heart-shaped holes underground that contained 2 heart crystals and a chest with love or heart themed items
@@craftykit2242 i think the memory hole part is about how the devs "forgot" to update the snow biome (like the desert was in 1.3 and 1.4) leading to many players fiding it uninterresting (wich goes along the fact that it has no corrupt or crimson varriant unlike the desert)
Bruh literally a week a go I remembered "oh yeah those existed" and count find anything about them anywhere. Also do you remember the Waldo shrine in the jungle?
actually yeah this did happen, and I remember that immediately started a controversy because people noticed it reused final fantasy sprites (and from what i remember there were some other things too). The final fantasy sprites controversy blew up even more when youtubers like the yogscast started uploading the game, i remember that.
i actually was so hyped for terraria that i downloaded it and played for a few mins before stopping for the day and the next day it freaking came out so i just went and bought it best game i ever bought.
I think when they mean by the "stolen pre-1.0 build" is that they're referring to the banned version that was leaked before launched, the devs then found out about this and made it so that if it detected you using it, it would brick you out of playing it.
@@shadenfraud3212 "Bricking" is typically used in the context of electronic hardware, but I suppose it can be used to refer to software too. It basically just means that it permanently stops working (like if this happened to your smartphone, you'd effectively have a brick; I'm pretty sure that's where the term originated from).
I don't think the theory is legit because if so if I defeat the moon lord i over come the diesese but the problem with that is I still have the ancient manipulator. And if the cultist is a plague docter why does he drop the manipulator and why do I still have it after I beat the moon lord?
I heard that Cthulhu was said to be able to meet and kill people in their dreams. If the Moon Lord is related to Cthulhu, it would make sense that he can kill people in hallucinations in a similar way.
tbh i think he is a hallucination but what happens after defeating him is you are living in a long dream or just unconscious all the time this explains the weird weapons and items you get from him
i found something interesting so i might put it here because it fits with the iceberg: skeleton sniper is a nazi, it uses a weapon resembles an FG 42, which was used by German paratroopers during WWII, it also appears to wear a Stahlhelm, a helmet used by the German military during both World Wars.
"A mushroom man lives in a mushroom house Is he made of house or is the house made of flesh? He screams for he does not know" - that's a better one for the Truffle lol
Imagine if the guide permanently died and never respawned once you killed the wall of flesh, you'll have to go to the wiki every few seconds for the crafting recipes, this is real horror
24:38 I think this entry is in reference to a really old glitch with Terraria involving frame skip. You would turn frame skip off, alt-tab, and the game would play at a much faster rate. It was a good way to speed up King Slime and Goblin Army spawns. Using a water candle during this would make the King Slime spawn even faster. There's a video called "Terraria - Spawn King Slime! (Speed Glitch)" if anyone wants to see it in action.
The Lunatic Cultist Reverse Neural Network and Ice Biome Memory Hole are both based on lore from the "Every copy of Super Mario 64 is personalized" thing. That thing has a surprising amount of lore in it for being a weird creepypasta. Expert mode, Mods etc. are referencing the fact that not all players have played those. The other ones just seem to be jokes.
Im pretty sure that’s because slimes in the outer 1/3 of the world have like a 1/100 chance to spawn as king slime and he used a water candle to boost spawn rates
in the comments of one of his first videos after returning, he takes about a time that his partner started to cry as he worked on a video because he was spending so little time with his family, and that made him decide to take a break from videos on the spot

More on the companion cube (as a person who's player both portals too many times) The sound it makes when in lava is a reference to the end of the test were it's introduced where you throw it in an incinerator, I'm pretty sure the lunatic cultist sound is a placeholder or something similar. The stabbing part is a reference to a quote from GLADOS informing you that the companion cube is not sentient and will not talk to you or threaten to stab you, implying that other people with the companion cube believed it was talking to them.
After killing the mlord, the guide congrats you on saving the world. So idk if the mlord is really a hallucination. If everyone can see it, touch it and get hurt by it, then I don't know if it is considered a hallucination or not. If so, then we're all living a lie
I mean, I've read some Lovecraft stories and assuming that the mlord is Cthulhu/something similar to Cthulhu collective allucinations definitely aren't out of the realm of possibilities
The zenith did actually have infinite range when it was first introduced, only limited by how big your screen is, but then in the next update they made it to only 60 blocks I think.
Hello Jetstreme! I just wanted to add something on the topic of "Sun-plate sprite negative space" I was a bit confused because they mentioned the sprite, however the block itself actually will count as a negative amount of tiles. This was likely done to prevent any meteorites from landing on floating islands early game. I believe most block on sky islands (clouds, furniture etc) also count as negative tiles. Hope this helps!

15:21 I'm Sudanese. I can confirm that this is true. The Sudanese economy started increasing by an exponential amount since Terraria's release. Look it up.
I've read the lore of Terraria and some of the related bestiary descriptions, and here's what I think: The Wall of Flesh is our world's guardian. It's essential to locking the ancient spirits away. The Guide was chosen as the one terrarian whose soul is connected to the soul of the guardian himself. The Guide isn't Wall of Flesh (or his puppet). It's a soul link, where both have a soul of their own. They can acess each other's soul. If it helps you understand, Voldemort and Harry Potter had a soul link (since a part of Voldemort was inside him). Apparently, Red said that the Guide is indeed WoF. That's... confusing. Thank you @A GuyNamedCreep for pointing that out :)
@@softwet6393 No, we're not, because: 1. The Guide himself suggests that we do that sacrifice 2. If we don't kill WoF, the Cultists will use the Mech Bosses to revive Cthulhu and then... SHIT 3. We're killing the part of WoF that's inside the Guide. Assuming you never spawn WoF again (which is only allowed so you can get the loot), the Guide would respawn as himself, without the link to a horrifying demon. If it wasn't a game, you'd only kill WoF once. It's his [permanent] death that sets the ancients spirits free. So, respawning him wouldn't be possible.
"Deadalus Stormbow" is basically refering to the nerf itself since the item is called the Daedalus Stormbow- they swapped the letters cause the nerf effectively killed its usefulness. Thus "dead"alus.
Bruh... It's referring to Deadalus from greek mythology. Deadalus was a famous inventor, who made wings to escape from a tower. He was the first human to fly (in greek mythology). That's why the bow has wings.

I heard zombie noises in amphibia (tv show) one time, maybe terraria gamers sneaked them in or the terraria sounds are from somewhere that you can just take
I don't think the zapinator one is a reference to the Aggressive Bungee video, instead it's probably a simple reference to the fact that in the first versions of Terraria, the Zapinator (Not orange or gray, just zapinator) was a weapons that could instantly kill any enemy, it was unobtainable and used by devs for testing purposes
The original zapinator did not instantly kill enemies. It's stats were similar to those of the space with roughly double the base damage. Since it was in a version of the game without hardmode, it was by far the strongest weapon.
@@nickenchugger you could find the zapinator in underground chests it was then swapped with the angel statue and at the time you couldn't place it nor was it worth anything it just took up space thats where the ingame joke about the angel statues came from.

The reason the Companion Cube makes the unsettling sound when you throw it in lava, is because gladOS, the villain of Portal, compressed and then stuffed all the researchers in the lab in companion cubes, hence why you never see any bodies, and when you throw the cubes into the fire in Portal after you don't need them, you're basically just killing another human being, and also cleaning up the place for gladOS, which is why it makes that unsettling sound in Terraria: the human inside of it is screaming.
To be honest, I'm intrigued by the prospect of playing Terraria's anti-villain. Working with, and sometimes saving, NPCs while also not being afraid to kill them if it furthers your goals is a challenge. You defeat the wall of flesh and bring evil into the world, even going so far as to kill those who are trying to seal the Moonlord, all in order to put an end to the Moonlord's eldritch terror once and for all. You do this with no regard for the long-term effects on your sanity or the world as a whole, and as a result, you become Terraria's villain, and at last your journey ends.
I think like 3 years ago a cannon story was made and said that the dryads all attacked cthulhu and there were able to get rid of his eyes, brain, and skeleton and one dryad remained
Just gonna say this: The Water Candle King Slime spawn trick was an actual method to spawn King Slime back in the 1.2 version, and a lot of guides say that that's how you spawn King Slime without using the Slime Crown. I don't know if it still works, but I definitely did this back then and it actually works.
@@minegagadoli king slime is guaranteed to spawn during slime rain after you kill enough slimes. It is not related to spawns in the outer parts of the world.
At around 2:50 I think it might be more likely that they're referencing the truffle worms, as that could be an earlier stage of the life cycle. Also makes the fact that you feed them to Duke Fishron even darker

If the cultists where truly trying to prevent the impending doom, why was the mechanic forced to make mechanical replacements for Cthulhu’s body parts? It’s a weird inconsistency I noticed Edit: After reading the official lore and the Lunatic Cultist's/Celestial Pillar's Bestiary entries, I can confirm that the cult IS worshiping Cthulhu and trying to revive him, with the mechanic being forced to make Mechanical remakes of his missing body parts; And the Pillars are the seals to keep him locked away at the moon. This confirms that the player is bringing forth the impending doom, while the cult is keeping the seals away so Cthulhu Breaks free, but it seems they where wrong and the seals HAD to be broken. There is no information on who or what put the seals in place but they haven't been around forever. Yes everything I said in that wall of text is %100 canon. If you don't believe me, you can fact check it. Also, don't scream at me if one detail is slightly off
I heard the "Mechanic built the Mechanical Bosses as replacements for Cthulhu's body parts" theory, but the issue I have with it is that I'm afraid I know what the Destroyer is supposed to replace
I'd love to see a video about the newer, bigger terraria iceberg. Also, I'm pretty sure the "Demolitionist and Tavernkeep are gay" theory is based on the fact that, according to the NPC happiness system, the Demolitionist "loves" the Tavernkeep and the Tavernkeep "loves" the demolitionist.

Part 2 and I’ll get 4 alt accounts to sub to u
Daedalus Stormbow is probably just referring to how broken it was (similar to the golden shower reference)
Water candle King Slime is a very old bug in the game.

It’s actually the death sound for the lunatic cultist boss sooooo...

Good theory
Calming pots are drugs to get u chilled😂

I think this entry is in reference to a really old glitch with Terraria involving frame skip.
I was thinking it was probably something like that, thanks for the info
The Lunatic Cultist Reverse Neural Network and Ice Biome Memory Hole are both based on lore from the "Every copy of Super Mario 64 is personalized" thing. That thing has a surprising amount of lore in it for being a weird creepypasta.

The sound it makes when in lava is a reference to the end of the test were it's introduced where you throw it in an incinerator, I'm pretty sure the lunatic cultist sound is a placeholder or something similar.

I've read the lore of Terraria and some of the related bestiary descriptions, and here's what I think:
The Wall of Flesh is our world's guardian.

@@softwet6393 No, we're not, because:
1. The Guide himself suggests that we do that sacrifice
2. If we don't kill WoF, the Cultists will use the Mech Bosses to revive Cthulhu and then... SHIT

I am like, 99% certain the Eye of Cthulu pre-hardmode boss is actually the missing central eye from the Wall of Flesh
I think like 3 years ago a cannon story was made and said that the dryads all attacked cthulhu and there were able to get rid of his eyes, brain, and skeleton and one dryad remained
It's literally called the Eye of Cthulhu. It's Cthulhu's eye.

Blue slimes in the outer 2/3rds of the world have a chance (1 in 300 I think) to be replaced with king slime. I'm pretty sure it still works in 1.4.

At around 2:50 I think it might be more likely that they're referencing the truffle worms, as that could be an earlier stage of the life cycle. Also makes the fact that you feed them to Duke Fishron even darker
And that truffle worms give 666 fishing power
i guess that's why the truffle mentions people stealing its children.
4:01 a thing you haven't mentioned (but is quite well known) is the cube stabbing being a reference to a quote in portal where glados says "The Enrichment Center reminds you that the Weighted Companion Cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak."
That quote is also in the description of the companion cube in the game
Now I feel enlighted!

If the cultists where truly trying to prevent the impending doom, why was the mechanic forced to make mechanical replacements for Cthulhu’s body parts? It’s a weird inconsistency I noticed
Edit: After reading the official lore and the Lunatic Cultist's/Celestial Pillar's Bestiary entries, I can confirm that the cult IS worshiping Cthulhu and trying to revive him, with the mechanic being forced to make Mechanical remakes of his missing body parts; And the Pillars are the seals to keep him locked away at the moon.
