Vince I've had mine for a week and still haven't opened it. But everything I've seen it's a beast . Update finally got to tear into some 3/4 " osb yea its seriously a beast. Its my experience that this saw is better than a corded saw . Use it on 2x4 , 2x6 . Plywood, paneling. It dosen't matter . Eats it up .
If memory serves me correctly, a standard corded skil saw is around 14.5 pounds and the mag 77 is a little over 12.5 pounds. So this hit right in the middle which is pretty good since the DeWalt cordless felt heavier than the corded skil. Even with the extra heft, the time saved by not rolling out or relocating a cord or hose makes these cordless tools total game changers. As long as the weight is distributed properly it has little effect on usability. FYI for the uninitiated the rafter hook we call a sky hook and the “base plate” we call the table in the field. The notch in the blade wrench served two functions, one as stated to unscrew the brushes for cleaning or replacement and it also can break the diamond center out of the blades when required.
This RUclips channel comes threw with information you need to get the job done been in the union 7 in a half years and always wondered about the power of cordless now a days
Cut some 6x6 green treated and LVLS any good saw should be able to cut sheet goods and 2x4s all day i have the 6 1/2" left and want to get the 7 1/4" but i have a skill saw and want to know that im not going to be stepping down in power
My mag 77 blade wrench has a tab like that and the book says to use it for popping out the round harbors from a new blade to give you the worm drive diamond harbor.
the early evidence from other reviewers is not good with the 3.0s.. thermal shutdown etc... the 6.0 HO is probably going to be the lightest HO battery to push this blade with confidence. In fact I found in one comment where some people thought the 6.0 HO would have more grunt than the 12.0 since a smaller capacity cell (not size) was used and as such would favor peak discharge over the 12.0 HO which uses a max capacity cell. I think you might find that a 6.0 HO could win a side by side rip time test against a 12.0 HO.
Hey Vince as a physics guy the hole is there to provide more suction at the point of entry for the dust. Think of it like an air vent in your plumbing. Air is going to take the path of least resistance so the air channel is going through the house, the dust moving through isn't going to want to escape that path because it would take more energy to exit the air channel than just follow it (eventually ending up inside the vacuum). Great video, love how you test tools.
Only because no one has done it yet. Tool and 12.0 HO battery is 14lbs. Pretty good in my opinion. Great video VCG. For a test, I think you got to rip a piece of 4X8 on the 45 degree angle. Does anyone use the cordless band saw? if so, how well do it work?
Robert Capouellez i use the older brushed m18 band saw and it is powerful and very handy. I tried to use the newer m18 fuel band saw and it was almost impossible to use one handed because of its larger size and heavier weight. The m18 fuel bandsaw is nice because of its variable speeds though.
Vince, I understand your love for a left-sight saw, but as a lefty, I thought the manufacturers finally thought of me with the right-sight circular saws. Lol!
I'm curious why the run time on this saw is listed as 570 cuts per charge when last years 2732 model is rated at 750 cuts per charge with the same battery and what appears to be the same motor. I have the 2732 and have been happy with it, I would prefer a left line of sight saw but have gotten used to using sidewinder style right line of sight saws and don't think I would purchase this one especially if its rated run time is a lot lower. The dust collection seems to work about the same as the 2732 and the table saw, which is to say not very well but definitely better than nothing. I think Milwaukee missed the boat by not expanding onekey functionality to allow a hypothetical onekey vacuum to wirelessly link to any onekey tool and auto start/stop the vacuum when the tool is being used.
I'd like to see a long time right hand saw guy convert to the (worm drive?) I want to know if it is actually more convenient. People talk about a better line of sight to the blade, but does it really make a difference, if you've been using a guide, speed square, fence, hand or something else to insure good cuts? Thanks
I use the 6 1/2 left line of site and the 7 1/4 right line of sight sidewinders. And they are great only thing i didn't care for is how out of square the 6 1/2 and was wondering if theres a way to square the blade and still keep the degrees on zero
@@Dogecoin831 fair enough I've used both the DeWalt and Makita alot, and find the DeWalt has a tiny bit more power... Doesn't make a difference. However would choose the Makita 100% of the time you can't beat it's quality and smoothness. Will be interesting to see how 18v vs 36v vs 54v goes.
dust collection never really gets all the dust, just keeps it down so cleanup isn't so bad. It seems to do as good as if it was corded. I like worm drives they seen to allow for more control and straighter cuts. Probably most because of the change in leverage points when operating them.

Is it possible the hole adds more power to the vacuum? I just know most vacuums aren’t meant to be necked down, thus losing power until you create an opening to allow it to get the proper drawl.
You are correct on the hike in the vacuum for the rear handle saw plus it provides visibility so you know when it’s clogged. Getting clogged up could bog the saw down and the vacuum. Easy to stop and fix it when you see an issue.
Hi Vince, I know this is a older video but i would have like to see water or mist on the saw. Watched the video with the cordless makita drywall sander. Seeing the 3 in 1 today made me wonder how well it would work with the sander. What do you think? Or is there a similar but better option?
On the box it states that the total weight is 13.5lbs, M18 12AH HO battery is 3:6.6 lbs M18 saw with no blade is 9:13.8 lbs Saw with blade is 10:3.8 lbs saw with blade and battery is 13:10.4 lbs

How many of you guys have a taped cord on your circular saw? I always wondered why my dads had electrical tape on the cord. This saw is a damn good tool. No cord to get in the way!!!!!! I started out with the 5 XD battery. It is lighter than the 6 amp hour and 8 amp hour batteries. With the 5 XD battery, it last a long time in this saw. You don't need the 12 amp hour battery for use in this saw. It's a heavy beast!!!! Saw with blade weighs 10.4 pounds and 12 amp hour batter weighs 3.3 pounds. That is 13.7 pounds total. I like running mine with the 5XD and single hand on ply wood, peg board, 2x4's, 2x6's etc... This saw cuts straight effortlessly and the light works great. Milwaukee hit it out of the park with this one..
YKK, not KKY. You're right, blade on the left is the only way to go. I don't know why you'd want it on the right.
The end of the wrench is to remove the diamond arbor plates on blades. To break it loose Vince
DeWalt vs Milwaukee worm drive test, what you think? and yes La Famillia, Makita too.
I like this saw but I'll stick with the 6.5" for now as if i need to cut anything bigger I tend to use the 305mm mitre or table saw.
