ringo wasnt a "cameo" for thomas the tank, he actually narrated the first two seasons here in the uk back in the 80s beofr leaving to focus on hi all starr band :)
I think he even did it for the U.S. for a while. I know it was narrated by George Carlin for a while then I think after Carlin died, Ringo took over. (I could be wrong on that, though. I do recall my nephews watching it with Ringo narrating the show.)

You mean that show that has frequent swearing, mild right up to Willie saying "shite" in an episode, pretty bloody, albeit very comic, violence, and constant sex jokes, including many scenes implying sex is either happening or has happened? Yeah, that sure sounds like a kids show to me.
@Steven Narey why does that mean it's not a kids show? Kids swear dude, I remember everyone in the playground was fuck this, fuck that! back at school. Sex is implied in a lot of kids show. Ed Edd n Eddy for example, when Double D and Eddy are hiding under Eddy's bed there's a porn mag next to them. Also I wouldn't say "constant" sex jokes are in the Simpsons in fact it's actually pretty rare for the show to have them. The same with swearing, I've never heard the F word in the Simpsons, the only swear I hear is damn and ass which are in tons of kids shows.
J.J. Are you actually serious? Just because kids swear doesn't mean that they can show it in a kids show. They've used bastard quite a bit, bitch a few times, there's been strong British swears like shite and wanker. Homer and Marge having sex when Bart walks in on them, more than oncestrong sexual innuendos, there's been animated sperm. There's one episode where Marge and Homer are trying to spice up their marriage and try to have sex all over Springfield. Need i mention the picture Mrs Krabapple sends Bart when he tricks her into a relationship through letters? There's been many strong drug references, too. The porno mag in Ed Edd and Eddy is for parents who are stuck watching it with their kids. The Simpsons has a few jokes for kids that will inevitably watch, but it's 100% written for an older audience. If you still don't think so, set yourself a lot of time aside, sit down and watch as much of the show as you can, and actually take note.
J.J. also, the f word was in the show, but was cut by the network. It's in the episode with The Who, when the microphone gets thrown at Marge, Roger Daltrey told Marge to "get out of the fucking way". It's a deleted scene on the DVD.
