Not only are Luca's paints beautiful he was also very kind in answering my questions 😊 I will in the future order from him again. Thank you for the review always like watching your posts😊.
I think you know that I love Della Magna. I’m glad you swatched your colours, there are quite a few I want to add. I have the Quins, French Ultramarine and the Magnetite which granulates more than any other paint I’ve seen. I totally agree, DM seems to be underrated but hey, all the best people know about it 😂
Hi! I have got a nice set of DellaMagna watercolors as a gift to myself and I love them as much as you do. Blues are expensive but unique: Smalt is really great, as well as Lapislazuli, but Azurite is the one I like the most. All of them granulate. Thank you again for your videos. Ciao!
@@WatercolorElisabetta And now it has happened: I simple couldn’t resist and I‘ve just put in an order of 9 colours from Della Magna including the Quin Gold - and I blame you 😂 for that purchase. I‘m so excited since I binge watched all your Della Magna swatching videos. So thank you for adding another precious load to my collection… Thank you for your lovely and interesting videos, I really like your content 🤩🤗🎨
What a precious set of colors. Love the wax seal, it adds a very unique and personal touch. Also when I first saw that light blue (Cobalt Turquoise) go into your palette I was very curious to see you swatch it out. It looks fabulous and is probably my favorite color in this set. It reminds me of Holbein’s Horizon Blue.
These watercolors are quite unique!! I think they are at least of the same quality of A.Gallo, if not superior!! I like very much the colors you picked and I would like to compare goethite with DS and Roman Szmal…
Thank you for sharing this supplier with us, I will order some paints from them in a while (because I just bought some recently and honestly I am spending too much money lol). The colours look wonderful and it's so lovely to see some rarer pigments on the list. Beautiful!
What a beautiful set you put together! love the red jasper and medici red but all the colors are so beautiful. I thank you again for introducing me to this wonderful handmade watercolor shop. Such quality and vibrant colors. (I just placed my second order last week!) I tried Fra Angelico for the first time; just gorgeous!
Thank you so much Darren for sending me your swatches. That Fra Angelico is such an unique blue! I believe Della Magna are really fantastic paint and I love the uniqueness of not following the trend of super granulating colors but sticking to their idea of historical, single pigment colors. Thank you so much for commenting and contributing to making this channel a warm community. Take care!
I missed so much! So many pigments I did not knew. They are beautiful. ❤ you should totally try a magnet on that black. I had used it in mars black and it does move the pigment.
@@WatercolorElisabetta I do hope that The temperatures go down soon in beautiful Italy! Many parts of the US are hot too, but there is more air conditioning 😏
Just an hour ago...I was introduced to these paints from another channel...she had 24 colours...an Asian woman...very soft spoken...she does AMAZING swatches on Arches cold press AND hot press...so you see the difference. I just went to the site....and saw the cobalt violet deep...with 3 pictures...one was pinkish...2 were blueish...so I emailed ...from the contact form...it was early afternoon in Italy...and some-one replied instantly...saying that they have to remove the pinish picture...as it is the bluish shade of cobalt violet...His name was LUKA....never knew he was the owner....very kind and friendly indeed...so I emailed him back...and said I bet he knew Alina Gallo...Italy is a small country....and he replied again...He knows her well...Very nice person...and the owner himself...emailing me...I have put some notifications in for some colours that are out of stock at the moment....so I will definitely be buying some of his paints...though I just ordered....WAY TOO MUCH FROM A. GALLO...THEY JUST HAD A RESTOCK...DECEMBER 6TH maybe? anyways...thanks you for the wonderful swatches and introduction to this brand...It make s a huge difference to see the colours swatched in person...as opposed to the ones on the website.I wonder how long he has been in business...as I had really never heard of him....Janis
Beautiful paints! Side note: I noticed that your swatch paper is acting a little strange, and I think the sizing has gone bad. Anyway, great video. Thanks for sharing:)
great video and timing :) I discovered della magna yesterday but many colors are currently sold out. I am particularly interested in PB80 (Blu benzimidazo the darkest watercolor blue I’ve ever seen)
This handmade colors are my favourite. A.Gallo is superior quality paint but Della Magna is more unique…There are quite a few reasons! It’s a small business and they produce small scale. They are single pigment only. They use historical pigments. Della Magna occupies a very specific territory in handmade paint which is different from any other paint I know! Moreover, the founder, Luca, is the most helpful, competent and kind person in the world!
Why are you saying that cobalt turquoise is pg50 and not pb28 like it is on the website ? It kinda looks like Holbeins cobalt turquoise light which is pb28. Just curious…
Actually , it does surprising well for being 100 gsm! It’s 100%cotton and I know it buckled, but it will return completely flat the day after…it’s a fun paper just different…thanks a lot for your comment and I’m glad you appreciate these wonderful paints! 😃
Beautiful green color~ and I love your popsicles ❤️✝️🙏🏻
Thank you! Here we are in the middle of an heatwave and popsicles seemed the right thing to paint 😃 Have a lovely day!
PO47, yay 😃. I was hoping you’d get it. I’ve never seen it swatched before. I’d love to try it one day.
The PO47 is very orange! I did not expect that. It looks really nice.
Very orange indeed! I still prefer PO48
@@WatercolorElisabetta I can understand, but PO47 is still on my watercolour bucket list. I’ve only seen it at Guerra Pigments and at Della Magna.
I agree and for people like us is very interesting to own!
@@WatercolorElisabetta Oh, yes, indeed!
Ironically, this is a very well balanced palette. If it only had a magenta / cool red, it can pretty much achieve almost everything in mixes.
True! I definitely need a colder red. Thanks for stopping by! 😃
Everything about these paints look lovely.
Thank you for your comment…I couldn’t agree more! 😀
The wrapping is so nice. I love that Florence paper!
I love it too! I used it to line my books when I was in school!
@@WatercolorElisabetta You are so lucky! We never had such nice papers. Come to think of it we still don’t have such nice papers 😂.

The Stil de Grain is also beautiful. One of the pigments that I would like to try.
It’s beautiful! It reminds me a little of Green Gold…
@@WatercolorElisabetta Yes, green gold is very similar to Stil de Grain and Sap Green. Both are made of buckthorn berries.

How does the Goethite compare to Roman Szmal’s Goethite or Daniel Smith’s Goethite? The Della Magna Goethite looks much stronger.
