It's your recipe, if you decide not to share it I don't see anything wrong with that. At least your are forthcoming with the composition of the binder and list the pigments used, which I find very transparent :) I really like to watch you making paint and in your livestreams you really answer our questions. Thanks a lot for the videos and the information you share.
All the people that left that negative comments should try to make their own paint, I think. I really like your paint making videos and it's absolutely fine if you don't want to talk about the binder recipe in detail. Don't let these people ruin your day. It's awesome that you still do what you love and share some of the process.
I love these paint making videos, they`re so relaxing :o! Also about the binder recipe : Why do people feel so entitled about things like that? The basic binder recipe is readily available online so how paint makers decide to refine the recipe is something that only the paint makers need to know. Besides, figuring out what binder recipe works best for you is part of the fun so already starting with a custom recipe takes away some of it
Wow! I had no idea people could be so rude, ugh. It's your recipe and as a viewer I did not expect for you to share it because it is yours.Thank you for sharing your process.
As far as binder recipes go, there are a TON of good starter ones that exist online. It's totally fair you don't give out your specific one. Like you said, you spent a lot of time on it, and it's tailored to your climate. Starting in the process of paintmaking is incredibly frustrating how little information exists online, but binder recipes isn't one of them.
You're under no obligation to share binder recipe. Haters gonna hate. Aint nobody got time for that. Your paints are amazing. You're VERY transparent (how often do big manufacturers show you the process of making a paint destined to land in your hands? Never.) Keep doing the amazing job you're doing and please don't take their crap to heart. Because you're an amazing artist and paint maker.
Lovely video, thank you :). I always enjoy watching watercolour paint being made by hand. It can be very depressing to see how entitled and unreasonable people can be. Your reasoning for not sharing your binder recipe makes perfect sense to me, from a technical point of view and also simply because it’s a distillation of your process and observations, and your years of hard work. I’m very happy to be able to see how you combine the elements; it’s great to watch. I hope you can manage not to take the naysayers’ negativity too much to heart. I’m sure many, many people love seeing what you do and completely understand your rationale.
Hey there mate, I always enjoy your vids and thank you for giving me a tip for making my Fra Angelico blue lapis paint. I started out 1 to 1 like you suggested and it's absolutely amazing! It's an insane bright and full blue, not like lower grade lapis! It was weeks and weeks worth of work to extract the pure pure lapis pigment and it did a number on my hands lol. But I caught something you mentioned in this video about the pigment being soluble in water and being easy... no pigment that is used to make watercolor paint is water soluble. if a pigment is soluble I water, it's dye then... so any pigment used to make watercolors is non soluble. Lake pigments are made with organic dyes that are made with Alum as the " pigment partical " per say. But any pigment has to be non soluble, or it's technically a dye. Have a great day mate... and keep it rocking with the paints
I completely support keeping your recipe secret. The time spent on your masterpiece formula is what makes your paints so beautiful. Just giving it away would be difficult I think and if you received criticism because of it those individuals either do not understand what goes into perfecting a binder formula or do not appreciate the time and work you have put into it. Keep it under lock and key Sir.🗝️🔒🔏

Very interesting. Thanks!
Also, the people that want the recipe should try going to a baker and asking for their cake recipe...not going to happen either hahahahahahaha!
Yes, exactly!
Hello do you know what to put for making watercolor solid pan
I just followed a base recipe and experimented. More of paint making is experimentation which is one of the reasons I keep my recipe to myself.
