Interesting how Secret Service is still operating and protecting the president even though Secret Service is operated by congress even tho congress no longer functions in this movie
@@alex21390 Secret Service derives its authority from Congress. In 1906 Congress passed legislation and funds for secret service to protect the president and if congress is no longer providing funds for secret service than secret service has no reason to protect the president
@@adminmars7003 This is incorrect. The Secret Service is sworn to protect the Executive Branch and other VIPs. Congress doesn’t wield any authority over them.
The journalists are showing the world what happened and how far America has fallen. The president was killing journalists on site who showed up to DC, at least the ones who didn't support him. Lee said the only thing that mattered was doing their job and getting the pictures so the public could judge things for themselves. They were taking photos of an unprecedented moment in American history and the soldiers were okay with them having that opportunity
They want the credit of being the team that killed the president (hence the rush to get in before other soldiers do.) The journalists being there creates indisputable evidence.
yes, maybe tunnels under the building I suppose, my headcannon is that the bunker or something was compromised because the generals who surrendered could have told the location, who knows the WF or New People Army are waiting for the president to arrive to ambush him or set explosives to demolish the bunker entrance
i guess he was delusiona;l about still winning and once hethey saw it was too latethey thought he could negotiate safe passage. He'd have to come out of the bunker at some point or they would be able to break into it over time, or blow it up or destroy the ventialtion or something. @@christo-gj1qk IDk if you've seen the whole movies so I don;t want to spoil specific scenes, but as it goes along you get the idea that this is a very "dirty" war; civilians in mass graves, torture, unarmed prisoners (and unarmed combatants) summarily executed. The "rules" have pretty much gone out the window and there's like a palpable bloodthirstyness in the air. The WA doesnt want this guy to have an opportunity to stand trial becuase, if he had three terms, the legal systme isnt something that's hindered him the past. the word, accoring to the one reporter at the barricade, was to kill on sight. I'm no prude or anything, found the whole invastion of DC really chilling and I can''t shake it
@@aperez5360 yeah the whole scene was unforgettable. But that's my issue I wish the movie give us more info about the president and what he did that caused the western forces to execute him and his whole cabinet. The scene where we have Jesse Plemons execute civilians could have been a militia person wearing camo because the movie never gave us answer as to which side he was. And the dudes at the gas station are just probably random citizens protecting their property. What random civilians do in war won't matter cause they probably don't know about rules of engagement but organized factions like western forces should abide by rules of engagement if they want to be seen as a legitimate government on the world stage.
Kinda hard to believe that the Secret Service, with tons of training and probably special forces training, couldn't take out a single one of these enlisted grunts. I would imagine that it would be at least a 3:1 ratio that they would be taking out
Loved the sound design in this scene. Honestly, it was great in every firefight in this movie.
What White House Down ans Olympus has fallen shoukdbe been.

Secret Service is under the department of Homeland Security. Which is a cabinet department under the executive branch. Not Congress

Can you upload the scene of the Presidential limo getting fragged? Also the "negotiation" between the WF and the Secret Service lady if you have it.

Okay, why are the soldiers cool with the photographers scurrying around them during a close-quarters firefight?

Maybe they know the wrote history and NY was most frendly to WF. In Berlin soviets protect press to.
Lol so why didn't the president hide in his bunker? I'm pretty sure they would have a bunker. But this battle reminds me of the battle of reichstag

They could’ve let the SAW gunner just wipe the hallway and shoot thru the thin walls?
what does he say after the saw gunner shoots?

What the fuck are the reporters doing. They keep getting in the way. Lee even had to die to save Jesse who has no sense of survival
Jesse pissed me off so much in this movie. Guess they were riding that adrenaline

Also highly doubt they wouldn't be wearing plates and carrying rifles of their own. The fight was badass but felt silly in some ways.
I mean, we do not know that they were just some 'grunts'. Could be special forces of their own.
