I work nights and drive on the freeway with no cars on my way too and from work. Couldn’t be any safer but getting dinged hard
Facts I just had to change my work schedule to first shift so now I’m missing out on that extra pay

I agree, many of my colleagues at the hospital and I bought Teslas just because of driving after shifts ending at night. There are over 70 Teslas among our system, everyone is angry and thinking of selling theirs cars just because of this update, or premiums went up by 80% just because of late night driving, this is not fair and Tesla will lose a lot of customers who buy Teslas due to their work demands just because of this. This is ridiculous and tells you how tesla can just make a deciding over you and you have no control. We bought our cars and paid for it and signed insurance with tesla so that tesla can just do what it wants, just like FSD in the past, you pay and good luck of they will allow you to get what you paid for, well enoughis enough. I hope tesla listens and remove this, and I think it is fair to say if tesla doesn't listen then " Sell Your Tesla".
It is very disappointing to hear how many employees who work at hospitals are affected by this change. We as a community definitely need to start discussing how big of a problem this is becoming. I absolutely love my Tesla, and it's hard to see the negative effect of one simple change Tesla has implemented into their insurance policy.
As a someone that works graveyard shift hours this is utterly ridiculous. There are little to NO cars on the road from the hours between 12-4am. Does Tesla even offer a solid explanation as to why those are worst times to drive? Nobody should be changing their whole schedule just to accommodate a time threshold to pay less for insurance.
I agree with you. I have had late night drives between those times, and you are right... there is nobody on the road. I'm not sure why Tesla decided to implement this policy. 🤔
@@LifeAroundDamian I dropped them due to this. Too expensive. Driving at rush hour was way more dangerous. People hopping in and out. Ruining my forward collision rating by passing too close. Night time driving is easy -- very few cars. Whatevs. Paying a lot less now.
On a 200 mile trip I was driving “late” for 32 minutes and my safety score for the day ended up at 78…that was the only ding, 12% late night driving. Tesla insurance is a scam.
I get off work at 3:45am, by the time I walk to my car, it might be 3:55am -SO I HAVE TO WAIT 5 MINUTES TO DRIVE?

I'm sorry to hear that 😞 I recently got dinged again for late night driving as well. My entire average for the day went to 83 just for driving less than 30min past 10pm...

weird either they removed it or doesn't apply in my state but my Tesla insurance late night driving isn't in safety score and can drive at night and hasn't affected my premium at all..

Improving your score depends on a lot of variables, and it all comes down to driving in a safe manner. It can be tedious sometimes, but it pays off. I can make a follow-up video on how to improve your Tesla score. Keep an eye out for it!
