- This is one of the ways to animate hair, if you liked it, please support my channel, here I'm trying to show you everything that is useful for creating characters.
If you're interested, I'm currently working on creating a 3d Poi model from Last Origin, I plan to use its example to show you in more detail all the stages of creating a character from scratch.

everyone is talking about how good the tutorial is, but no one is talking about the fact that he showed the easiest, but such an excellent way of animating hair in less than 60 seconds when some people take over 20 minutes to show it. You just gained a new subscriber! Keep up the good work
thanks
I do the same type of videos haha
These are the kind of tutorials everyone needs more of. Thank you!
Okay, that was awesome, you've literally saved the rest of my life.
you are literally the goat. Thank you so much!!
This is really helpfull
Thanks for sharing this method with us:)
yo this is amazing thanks so much
love it !
Like a Big... Very Amazing tutorial
Good, i can use it for my ear too. nice. ty
Thank you very much you earned a sub
keep it up bro.;-) this one help for my very first character 😅 thank you
I am pleased that my videos help someone
omg your awesome!
thank U !!!
Hey, does this method also work for the hairs that were created with Particle System ( on self) with HairNet Add-on? If no, then how can I animate that type of hair?
Not for animation, because the object does not deform the particle system, but if you just render the image, then you can bend the object and update the particle system after applying the modifier
for animation, you can activate the hair dynamics in the particle system itself
amazing
It doesnt let me bind the cube it says failed to set value
So this would also work if I animate my model to walk and look in different directions, bend down, etc. like automatically? I want my character’s hair to act very realistic when the head is down and the hair just naturally falling towards the face.
Can I add a collision modifier so it won't pass through the body mesh? Or there is other way of doing this thanks for the tutorial !
of course
I do not know any other ways with such hair animation
when i app;y cloth physic hair goose down ..not in same mesh
damn, thats quick
Can you animate hair blowing in the wind you know stylized hair
I see that you also have rigify on your model, animators ftw
I’m trying this with my sim it moves but something is wrong idk can you do one with a sim
Is there a way to make it not clip?
The problem is fine in the viewport after baking, but when rendered it doesn't work. Is it just me?
Hello goodnight
Does this technique and the bone technique work for card hair?
And do they also work when exported to unreal?
hello, why not, it's also a mesh object with textures only, as for the second question, I haven't checked
Is there a way to make it pull down towards gravity?
Isn't she falling? put the weight at 1000 kg
Hello
I made a scene where i have 3 characters there and all of them have spring bones. However, when I play the animation, only the last character that i added spring bones is moving its springs( hair for example). The others have spring bones but dont move :(.
Any way to make all three of them move their spring bones?
Hi, I know the reason, it creates new pacifiers and limiters every time, I won't argue, but I think there's nothing you can do about it, only if somehow manually
@@twobidona I see...
Thanks.
I think spring bone can only active in one object somehow, so u can bake the animation one by one :)
Hope it helps
when I try to bind the cube to mesh deform, it says "failed to set value" what do I do?
apply a mesh deformation modifier to the hair and select a cube
hey, first of all amazing video! thanks you so much! I have one problem tho. When i render/export my moddel, the cube is still visible (wich i fixed) but the animation to the cube doesn't render for me. Do you have a fix for that?
Hello, thank you, bake the cube animation and then hide the cube
@@twobidona Thanks works so well!! Thank you! One more question. Do you work on any projects? I'm trying to find people with different specialties in CGI and it looks like you really know your things when it comes to modeling etc.. If you have any intrest let me know, so i can send you a discord link! Anyways thank you so so much!

Please how can i stop the way the hair enter the body
Make the body a collision or add objects with a collision inside the body
good video
Can I use this on sims ?? Also what shortcut did you press to extent the box down the hair?
The E key, if that's what you're talking about
What other sims, I do not know
@@twobidonasims 4
It works great! But for me the hair stops moving after frame 250. Why is that?
most likely, in the fabric simulation settings in the cache section, you have the value "end" 250
@@twobidona thank you! That worked!
Hi, which is the best way to physics 2d hair?
Hi, I think curves + sculpt
if you mean something like vtuber, then probably curves + modeling, and of course a lot will depend on your drawing skills.
Hi, this is very interesting method. But, I don't get why a Cube Mesh Object? I image this relates with its particular interaction with the Mesh Deform Modifier. What I mean is, what about Lattice Object + Lattice Modifier? Thanks!
Hi, you can't add an imitation fabric there, and I don't quite understand how you're going to animate it later
Thanks for answering; sorry but I don't understand what you mean by an imitation fabric.
For animating, what I imagined, was that, in the case of Lattice Object, apparently there would need to be multiple of them (composing the similar shape of the Extruded original Cube covering the Hair Strand Mesh as you did), and then, more likely, those Lattice Objects would be Parented to... Hair Strand Bones; or, maybe the Lattice's Vertices could be Hooked to different Hair Strand Bones, so that would allow stretching and squashin of the Lattice later on; (and would require multiple Lattice Modifiers of course on on the Hair Strand Mesh); I suspecting something like that could work, somewhat analogue to your tutorial, but I can't be sure without experimentation.
Is that, I've seen already some tutorials using Lattice Object for Hair Physics. Thus, as I was watching your video the first time, I thought it was Lattice as well... until I've realised: 'Oh, wait! That's actually a Cube Mesh Object'. 😸 I guess I need to reproduce it and then I can compare with other methods too.
@@pxy-gnomes9781 What you are talking about looks more complicated, besides there are no hair bones, animation through tissue simulation, and you are talking about animation through bones
@@twobidona Sorry about the terrible delay. I was overwhelmed by other issues lately, and needed to make more Physics-related experiments. So far, I've tested your setup and got a glimpse of understanding of how it can be explored and why you said that it would be simpler (considering it doesn't use Armature Deform Modifier, etc., but, most importantly for my investigation: it avoids Addons).
Currently, I see potential for this approach (I think some people are calling it a "Cage Mesh" Deform thing); but because there ain't a lot of content on it apparently, I'm not sure of its limitations regarding, for example, more dynamic animated scenes. I thought that, perhaps with some sort of simple external control over strategically picked segments of the Cage Mesh Object, that could lead to some interesting solution regarding a Rigging-Physics interaction during 3D Animation --and, because of this method of Cage Mesh Deform, it might not necessarily imply Weight Painting; or, if it does, it' just on the simplified Cage Mesh Object, not on some more complicated Hair Mesh Object(s).
Another problem, more basic but to start with, is getting the Hair Mesh Object to 'Mesh-Deform' as good as possible, in relation to the Cage Mesh (my test today was on a central Ponytail). On simpler Key-Framed motions, it seems to be quite reliable setup, but the faster are the Key-Framed motions, the more the Cage Mesh Deforms seem to be difficult to handle; then, I also am unsure if it's more about improvements required, on the Hair Mesh Cage Mesh relation, or on the Cage Mesh Cloth Pyshics relation. I wish there were lots more of examples showing elaborations of this kind of setup. But thanks for presenting your own elaboration and answers. At least, I was able to run the setup and resume experimentations. If those issues I've pointed out can be resolved in a relatively easy fashion, then this might a very versatile method after all. 🧐
@@pxy-gnomes9781 Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it's nice to see people who are also passionate about 3D art!

Can u do a animation on how to animate mesh hair
I didn't get it, here's a video where I show how to animate mesh hair
Not for a ponytail for the front hair.
For male hairstyle
@@badbirdy3229 And what's the difference, in general, I don't think it can be used anywhere outside of blender, so in the future I will most likely animate with armature
use softbody for male hairs
is this exportable?
@@twobidona okay thx
No body collusion😢
ok so imma hve to watch this about 40 times just to follow what he did. ID greatly appreciate it if you reuploaded it slower(dont have talk) . Maybe edit some text and offer some visual stuff to show what your selecting. Well i guess lets spend 1 hours tryna emulate this .
is it possible that only I can change the speed in the RUclips player?

I didn't miss anything, look 0:18-0:25
I was having problems also. You have to play around with the physics settings.
Yeah, you can make it a 2 minute video and slow the fk down a bit

set the playback speed to 0.25 in the settings and watch
