You are not good if you are motivated by a reward (heaven) or fear (hell). Also, her husband was killed as an act of revenge for his role in antisemitic pogroms carried out in Russia. A truly good person helps others for no gain and doesn’t marry a murderer of innocent people. Doubt I will get a heart from the channel owner 👍

Elisabeth was a kind woman who did everything for Russia, Lenin is disgusting for having her killed, I heard he was pleased after she died which is pretty horrible, she was a true saint, RIP Elisabeth, Alix, Nicholas, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei
(Her niece Alice (The mother of the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (1921-2021)) did the same thing as her aunt, but in a different way, by helping people in Greece, she was an amazing woman like Elisabeth)

She didn't die after the mine blast. She survived with others and used her veil to bandage another more grievously wounded than her. They suffered from their injuries and the cold, and sang orthodox hymns before they were brutally killed, by shoving a large quantity of wood in the opening of the mine and set alight. Truly a Martyr!

So true Carey; the saint was found at the bottom of that mine shaft laying next to two unexploded grenades. Her body was found to be in corrupt. She was killed on the same day my Name's Day saint Fredrick of Utrecht was murdered on July 18th so I get to celebrate a double martyrs feast day! Ironically she was canonized by the Orthodox Church on July 5th my wedding anniversary! I'm Roman Catholic but as a gesture of ecumenical friendship I too celebrate her feast day. Sts. In a library book, forgot the name, I read about St. Elizabeth last year the commies didn't want to kill her in fact they praised her work. It was that vicious demoniac Lenin who ordered her execution along with her companions. Lenin died hard; even a communist official here in Chicago said so. The poor man died on his knees screaming and begging the people he murdered to forgive him. I hope he did repent and saved his soul though he'll have long time in Purgatory; beats the 'eternal furnace.'

I believe that Elizabeth is a true Saint and Martyr, and deserved her title of Sainthood. She was quite “ pure in heart “ and truly loved people . This was quite interesting, because I knew very little about her . My sister is named Elizabeth, and like Elizabeth Romanov , was a gift from GOD , ( my mother had my youngest sister at an age where most people would have not thought to - 40. )

They are closely related to the English royal family. Ella and Alix were Queen Victoria's grandaughters, and she took over raising them after their mother died. They also were great aunts to Prince Phillip through their sister Victoria and her daughter Princess Alice. Finally, Nicholas and George V were first cousins because their mothers were sisters.

Truly a noble and holy saint of God who loved the Russian people.
Her husband, however, was not liked by most Russian. Even his treatment of Ella was not always the best. His personality was haughty, cold, even arrogant. It must also be said that most historians believe as the English term it his life had "certain shadows" in regards to human sexuality. Still, they compromised; and, Ella did love her husband deeply. May her memory be forever cherished, honored, and, revered because who was faithful even in death.

Hi, Vern, there is no historical evidence about any kind of misconduct by Sergei towards Ella. It's just a myth that still survives. The same goes for his sexuality. The truth is that Ella was very much in love with her husband and she admired him for his Christian virtues. Many thanks for your comment here!

Ella was almost a saint-like person supposedly trying to help those around her when injured and dying. She was also reckoned to be one of the most beautiful women of her age; she rejected the Kaiser who never forgot her. The British ambassador in the 1890s said she was the loveliest creature he ever saw. Sergei her husband was a cold, cruel man, possibly gay and definitely anti-semitic. It was rumoured that he got off on watching people being tortured in the St Peter and Paul Fortress.
