Truly a noble and holy saint of God who loved the Russian people. Her husband, however, was not liked by most Russian. Even his treatment of Ella was not always the best. His personality was haughty, cold, even arrogant. It must also be said that most historians believe as the English term it his life had "certain shadows" in regards to human sexuality. Still, they compromised; and, Ella did love her husband deeply. May her memory be forever cherished, honored, and, revered because who was faithful even in death.
Hi, Vern, there is no historical evidence about any kind of misconduct by Sergei towards Ella. It's just a myth that still survives. The same goes for his sexuality. The truth is that Ella was very much in love with her husband and she admired him for his Christian virtues. Many thanks for your comment here!
It almost drew me to tears to learn such a lady died in such an appalling way. I was always anti-communist by belief and never liked this Bolshevism. And now my believes are firmly rooted. I mean how can they treat such a holy personality in such a malicious manner?! May we never forget her and her noble deeds.
Thanks for watching and commenting here, Avik. Here's another video, which shows that GD Elisabeth's sister, Tsarina Alexandra, and her daughters had exactly the same qualities: ruclips.net/video/IC-D1dZKoCI/видео.html
Ella was almost a saint-like person supposedly trying to help those around her when injured and dying. She was also reckoned to be one of the most beautiful women of her age; she rejected the Kaiser who never forgot her. The British ambassador in the 1890s said she was the loveliest creature he ever saw. Sergei her husband was a cold, cruel man, possibly gay and definitely anti-semitic. It was rumoured that he got off on watching people being tortured in the St Peter and Paul Fortress.

They also were great aunts to Prince Phillip through their sister Victoria and her daughter Princess Alice. Finally, Nicholas and George V were first cousins because their mothers were sisters.
A true saint . Comparisons are odious though as a catholic I think I see Ella as a source of inspiration more than let us say Mother Theresa .
You are very right on this!
@themusicalcardinal.5108mother Teresa was an absolute monster and her canonization by pope Francis shows everything wrong with the present state of the papacy
But I'm going to have to take a break after this one. It just tears up my heart even after all these years what happened to these people through the outworkings of a purely evil system. It would almost make you ashamed to be a human being if it weren't for the splendid examples of their lives.
She really was such a blessed soul, wasn't she? In our book we have a special chapter on Grand Duchess Elisabeth which includes a selection of letters by her to Tsar Nicholas II. Most of these letters are published for the first time in our book. If you are interested, you can learn more here: www.romanovs.eu/en-book
Omg they were absolutely ruthless. If only the ppl at the time had the benefit of hindsight would they still think a revolution was the way forward?
Definitely not! But unfortunately that's how human history progresses and evolves, if it does!
Excellent music! Very inspiring video editing! A different artistic approach, full of power and dramatization! Not like the usual "sweet" and lukewarm productions. Congratulations to those who worked on it! I have pre-ordered the book and can't wait to read it!
Thank you for your encouraging words, Jeremiah! These words give us the strength to keep on with our work. Many thanks!
Thank you.
Thank you for preserving the holy memory of Saint Elisabeth.
This is so heartbreaking. What a tragedy to a beautiful family?! 🕊
Thanks for watching! Here's another recommendation for you: ruclips.net/video/NEHNpqydBbo/видео.html
Pray for us Mother Elizabeth especially for my son and daughter, amin…..
Saint Elizabeth Feodorovna, pray for me!
She's such a great saint! May she bless you!
She told Alexandra that Rasputin was bad influence and was rejected by her. After that they never saw each other again.
‘O the glorious wonder! A mine depleted of its ore is shown to be full of the lustrous gold of grace and piety! A shaft sunk deep into the bowels of the earth is shown to be a ladder extending up to heaven, whereby Elizabeth and her companions ascend from the depths unto the heights of paradise! O holy martyrs, ye blessed ones, as ye delight in celestial joys forget not us who celebrate the memory of your godly struggles, that with you we also may chant the angelic hymn: Alleluia!’
Kontakion XI, Akathist hymn to St Elizabeth the New Martyr
Thanks for posting greetings from Lake Charles LA
I am in awe of Elizabeth. I have a biography on her and I find her to be so amazing. She shows us what being a true Christian is with her forgiveness of her enemies. She forgave the man who killed her husband. She is a saint.
Unbelievable beauity and high- spirited soul.
If women TODAY WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK AT THESE WOMEN THEY WOULD FIND SO MANY THINGS THAT COULD HELP US IN TODAYS SAD WORLD!
Yes, St. Elizabeth the New Martyr is an outstanding example of womanhood for us all. A very fine lady, and a very good, brave one.

excellent video, many many thanks 4 upload. but ... I've never known that Elizabeth was actually married to Grand Duke Sergei
Thank you!
I hope to be half of the woman she was. What an example she leaves with us.
I'm still shocked by what I've seen. Man kind is so unbearably cruel sometimes
She was truly a living angel!
What were these many mistakes and shortcomings of hers that she spoke of? Pray for me st elizabeth 🙏 ❤️ please keep me humble and give me strength during these awful currents in my life
What an amazing lady!!! So devoted to others, so different from Alix who was so depend of the husband!!!
Depended on her husband, Rasputin and others that agreed with her.
She was a beautiful woman who was married to a difficult and tyrannical husband.
Convenience marriage.
@@joseeduardotschen9186 You are correct. Women married gay men in the past because homosexuality was denied in those days. You have to wonder what these women thought after they were married.
So beautiful she we're Amen
bless her
What a cruel ending... im muslim people .. i hate they do that to ella .. i feel shock when i see they push people and then throw bomb.
I've been watching documentaries all morning on the romanovs.
EF looks gorgeous in her royal costume.
Saint Elizabeth The New Martyr, please pray for us
HOW cruel they were to kill them like that. The Romonovs and ELIZABETH did not deserve this. They are in heaven but the killers are most certainly not.
Thank you for making known to me this holy woman.
You are very welcome, Robert! Have you watched the rest of our videos here?
I’m watching them and I’m going to start on the books .
@@ref6122 we're glad to hear that! Thank you! Our book, only recently published, will fascinate you! It presents the life story of the Royal Family in an inspiring way and it offers previously unpublished texts and materials in English, amongst which a series of letters by Grand Duchess Elisabeth. More about it here: romanovs.eu/en
Many thanks!
@@RomanovRoyalMartyrs You're doing an amazing work!
they have no right to kill others
Yes he was gay and I am not judging. But I’ve read that regardless of that they loved each other.
I read that the convent she had built is preserved today. I hope the nuns can get their order reestablished! I would love to be a nun in this order!
Yes, the monastery is functioning full-scale! Here's the link to their website: www.mmom.ru
Her death is one of the few times i sympathize with a royal passing. She was one of the few that were not rotten. I admire her.
Hi! Here's a more detailed documentary on her life: ruclips.net/video/fWXzDYYmWJY/видео.html
Part 2 coming soon!
@@RomanovRoyalMartyrs will definitely watch it.
@@avikadhikari698 we'd be happy to hear your thoughts on that video, too!
What a beautiful woman
