I think for Italy the camera needs to focus more on HER. She is what sells this song if you watch her at Sanremo. I feel they took away her winning moment with the camera angle in the climax- it becomes very basic. I think France is very impactful but would be even better if they showed the arena when he stepped back from the mic like you said. But France was much more impactful than Italy and Italy was my winner.

Yes I agree some are overdoing staging now : Germany and Italy, or weird camera angles like France but I think also about Moldova and even Slovenia at some point and colors that don't match the song. UK it starts well then goes weird. And why a locker room, the song starts him singing abaout 'eternal flowers', I would think of a garden, parc or even the livingroom like we saw in the video, not the gymclub 😜But ok we will see how it goes at D Day, what has been changed last minute and what not🙏👊👍
Couldn't agree more. Last time I checked, Eurovision was a family show for everyone, including chıldren. So this over the top focus on s*x is too much. I'm open minded and not easily shocked but this just rubs me the wrong way. Also agree regarding the lead vocals. I was already dissapointed that they didn't go back to all live vocals, so including live backings. Sad to see that now also the lead vocals are not completely live for several entries. Don't like the direction Eurovision is going. But it's always a pleasure and great fun to see you and Eli together 😄

@@JanBors just curious: what would you have done differently with the staging of Slovenia. I think especially lighting and colour scheme are really off- do you think it could have been much more effective with simple changes in colors of the background graphics, less laser lights, more Ireland style cinematic language etc. I imagine the entire team who makes graphics, choreography, lights, etc. needs to be a seasoned team that has already done such productions. I just feel like a lot of these national teams rather make stuff, that worked 20 years ago.

I think if you read and understand the meaning of the songs, you would understand more some staging choices you don’t get. Just an advice ❤
