- Skillet LIVE! "The Thirst is Taking Over" from Alien Youth Tour 2001.
This concert was about 3 weeks after the CD release, and 11 days after 9/11. Skillet was great live! I was digging around in some of the old concert videos I had produced and thought I'd throw a few of these up there for the fans. One of the cameras was a little off, but these days you pay extra for that kind of shooting, right?! - hope you enjoy it.

one of the greatest worship songs by skillet in my opinion. another great one would be Angels Fall Down.
My right ear liked it
If I am not deceived, around the six minute mark they were playing the chorus from Everything by Lifehouse. Whether they heard it from them first or just made it up themselves that is completely awesome.
Skillet was so much better back then. Industrial was a far better genre for them.

Saw and met them a few times at Harvest Christian Fellowship when I was a teenager. They were always so cool and put on one heck of a show :) still have my Signed Alien Youth Album cover!!!

@jpat09 I was hooked after hearing Kill Me Heal Me sometime two years ago or so. Maybe it was last year, I dunno. But I wanted Alien Youth and got Awake since it came out, radically different, still loved it. I then worked my way back. Got Comatose, then Alien Youth, then Collide. I'm a pan head now. I prefer old school Skillet though, plain awesome.

Thanks, coffeefreakzzz. All the current Skillet video inspired me digging into the archives. We didn't have RUclips back then for sure! I posted a couple other "Vintage Skillet" videos if you want to check them~
@marsz17 People call songs with longer names shorter things, like the first two words. Such as "The Thirst" they probably wrote it down as that on the set list. It's like now hey cal Whisper In the Dark just Whispers.

@Songwriter4God i also luv old school skillet altho i luv all skillet i feel that awake is stripped down,not in a bad way.each album has such a differnt feel that's just the 1st thing i thought of

@JesusFreak022393 Yeah, they'll hopefully play it when I see them for the first time in august....with Creed hehe, not that crazy about Creed but it's $26 for the whole concert, can't pass it up, as long as I hear "Better than Drugs" then I'll be happy. I like alot of there music anyways.
Do you have "You take my rights away" ? I can't find it anywhere in video. My favorite Skillet song. Perfectly "anti-culture" anthem for this time in history.
