@@PooDotStinkPants No need to be sorry, I am always willing to help when I can. The answer is no, you should not have to do this on a regular basis. YT does Not block VLC. Went to Windows, Media Information, Location and grabbed the long URL from there. Opened it in a new browser and right click to download. Just downloads a data file...? So confused why it's not downloading as a video.
Hey thanks so much for the command and watching the video. I actually cannot do a video showing how to download the video as this is against RUclipss rules. I actually had a video like that and they took it down. So I am sorry but I cannot do that, I would suggest maybe googling that or something, that may be the best bet. Thanks again for commenting
This wont affect anything, this only shows you how to fix the issue with VLC not playing video. It has nothing to do with modifying, moving, or changing videos in any way. All it does it makes it where you can stream a youtube video through VLC.
This worked perfectly, thanks. Once you have the video player showing the video, is there a way to finish the download and save the file? Or is it already in a file somewhere just by playing it? Thanks!
Hey great that it worked for you! Thank you for watching and commenting! As for your other question, I think there is a way to save the file, however; I am not sure how to do that, I would maybe search RUclips, I am sure it is there somewhere..... Thanks again for commenting
Im guessing you want to download the youtube video as an mp4 (video file). If this the case, look at the top and press tools, codec information, copy the location at the bottom of the white pop up box. Paste into a new google tap, press the 3 dots, and then download, and you should be all good.
I am able to use VLC to load a RUclips video and get it to play. But from there I am not able to download the video to my Mac so that I can edit it on Power Director. Any thoughts? .

Well if you followed the instructions starting at 4:06 and it is still not working, it could be cookies setting in VLC. Now I do not recommend disabling cookies in VLC as this as it could lead to a security breach, so it is up to you 100% if you do that or not. You are very welcome, so glad it helped you out!
I just tried this just now. Does it still work for you? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Thanks
Hey sorry it did not work for you. I did this just a few days ago and it woirked. I have outlined in another video what to do if this doesnt work. Quick rundown though, I recommend using revo uninstaller to uninstall VLC and reinstall. This video will explain it, I think its around the 4 minute mark, although there are chapters and it is marked. ruclips.net/video/0EOXsaDgXb4/видео.html
@@SamHayden Thanks but that link you posted is for THIS video. Do you have a link for the other video?
@@bones8057 Haha my apolgies, my brain thinks its Monmday haha, the Revo Uninstall video is here: ruclips.net/video/0IOTWUFVzNc/видео.html

@@よりブライア Update: Hello there, so an update, I have been looking into this today because too many were commenting that it was not working and some report the error, “"VLC is unable to open the MRL" url stream. Upon looking into this, I pulled logs from VLS and upon digging into them, it seems that the error indicates that while attempting to play a RUclips video via URL, it encounters an error with descrambling RUclips's throttling URL parameter, which prevents the video from playing correctly. This is likely due to changes in RUclips's video delivery mechanisms that the current version of VLC cannot handle.
I am still looking into this and hope to have an answer soon. It may be an issue on RUclips’s end, not sure yet.
@@SamHayden Tysm for your reply, i found a solution by downloading an alternative media player, it seems that only vlc media player was affected other media players work fine
@_spectralvoid_ what media player did you find?
not working. I've installed a new version of vlc, followed the steps still to no avail
Well if you followed the instructions starting at 4:06 and it is still not working, it could be cookies setting in VLC. Now I do not recommend disabling cookies in VLC as this as it could lead to a security breach, so it is up to you 100% if you do that or not. I would google that on how to do it if you choose to go that route, however; as stated, i do not recommend it.
All of a sudden, after a year of working, it stopped working. :(
Yes due to the change on the RUclips side. I commented on your last comment on my other video on this as well.
@@SamHayden Thank you, I really appreciate you responding to me. :)
I tried it all, including revo, and I still can't get it to play youtube videos🙁

Hello again, so another update. For the time being, while we are all waiting on a brainiac to create a new LUA file to make this work again, I have found an alternative that allows you to stream URL’s just like VLC used to. I have made a video on this, and that video will launch this coming Monday, in the morning time. If you are subscribed to me, ensure that notifications are clicked on so you don’t miss it. Thank you!!
brother did everything you said but didn't solve the problem, please tell me what to do now
