- It's been a week now since I completed my cancer treatment and rang the bell, I've been taking it easy and not really feeling up to editing a video. So John has edited and sorted this video for me while I'm still in bed recovering from the previous 3 operations.

Mand, you’ve been only a few miles from us, but even closer in our thoughts as we’ve chatted about you both. Seeing you ringing the bell is awesome, but even more importantly, what you’ve done is show the reality behind the headlines on ‘better cancer treatments are improving outcomes for patients’ with your poignant articulacy in describing the procedures you’ve been put through. Please accept a big virtual hug for your honesty, integrity and humanity in sharing it all - and a manly handshake for John for all that he’s quietly been subject to (…. sod it, he can have a big hug too). You are both the compassionate best of what social media can convey.

As somebody who has had a fair bit done in the last few years I think the NHS is FANTASTIC and really deserves better funding and direction.the people at the sharp end are some of the best and most dedicated people in the world.

Just to say that after a lot of experience with oratory im sure you know but any opiate slows down your digestive process so can trap wind bubbles for longer periods. It’s a real PAIN. If you can eat things that tend not to upset you and keep doing that then you’ll minimise the trapped pockets of wind that are so hard to move cos of the oramorph. I’m not explaining very well but I’ve had it so often and as you say the pain excruciating sometimes. Moving around helps but then that takes energy you may not have. You’re a very brave soul and be kind to yourselves as you’re going to need time to recover. Sending love xxx

I'm in Queens love been here since Friday as I had another reaction with chemo and had to have crash team but OK now and today I had my port fitted. I am sat here having a sandwich watching you on here and nurse comes in and I showed her and she remembers you and she was going to watch you and tell other nurses lol glad it's all over for you love got all crossed for you! I'm having my chemo on the ward so in till Friday but not having the chemo that I hsve a reaction too thankfully. Big hugs love xxx

Yay! Now rest....I bet it was so good to ring that bell to signify this phase is over and done with and you're now onto recovery. If you have Vinegar on your Fish and Chips it reduces the insulin spike significantly - who knew the British were on to something? Hope you are able to enjoy some of the weekend and you start feeling much better soon.

Nice to see you have reached the ring the bell stage in your treatment. Something I achieved in February this year. i had happy tears listening to this, ringing the bell was amazing, take the pain meds no reason to be in pain, its only for few days please dont be hard on yourself its been a long chapter in ur life but fingers crossed its time to start a new chapter for you both, much love and hugs to u both, xx

Congratulations on the final treatment and ringing of the bell. That was something I was looking forward to but not able to cause my treatment failed Wishing you and John all the best for the future ❤
Well done Mandy, the treatment is all over and done. Ok so you’ve got a few left over side effects, I’m sure they’ll clear soon, and you’ll get back to normal. But the main thing is you got through it and you rang the bell, congratulations, we were all out here in RUclipsland rooting for you and “virtually” holding your hand via the Ethernet.
Now take notice of what they told you in the hospital, rest up for a bit and totally recover before you do too much. I’m sure a John will remind you to rest if you start getting carried away.

Mandy, I've seen all your videos, not always commented, but I'm so pleased for you that you have finished your treatment. Have you tried fresh ginger tea to help with your tummy bubbles, it will also help with the acid reflux. Especially if you can eat a little bit of raw ginger. Good luck for the recovery xx

I’ve been looking out for the “bell ringing”. It’s a shame the last sessions were so uncomfortable and that you are feeling rough. You need some sleep. I can get bad acid reflux. It’s impossible to lie down comfortably through it. I wonder whether the door repair affected timings for all the patients and led to the disruption in your care. I’m a total stranger but to me you need the classic rest and relaxation to allow all these medications to work their way out of your system. If you feel wobbly when you’re upright get a stick to steady you. It’ll only be a temporary measure but will give you the confidence to have a walk in fresh air. Give yourself and your mind time to process everything. Take care ❤

Hi Mandy you are giving me some hope I have been going to the doctor with heart burn and indigestion and I am also losing weight so the doctor has took blood tests and I have to go to hospital for tests and I am shiiiig my self you are giving me some hope and strength
Ah Harry, I know it’s so scary but the problems are getting looked at which is the best thing they can do, then it’s one step at a time ❤️❤️

you sound clued up on the oxycodone im on 400 a day which is very heavy dose slow increases but been on it 5 years and it is worst thing ever to happen to me so please take what you need to stop pain but stop after 14 days if you can as its super adictive , your in my thoughts kep it all up as you seam to be doing well or at best your putting a brave face on it and im sure your helping many others luv and hugs to you and john
