My gosh, people....don't just drop by to others unannounced - especially not to someone you feel like you "know" only via the internet! Bealtaine Cottage is a place understandably many would love to visit, but it is not fair nor welcome for the cottage or Colette to come by uninvited. The appropriate and respectful way to visit Bealtaine if not invited is to do so remotely by watching the many videos Colette is kind enough to share. As someone who values his privacy I personally would be angry if people I did not know but who only watched my videos showed up on my door!

Lovely effect on your front door, and reassuring' to know you have privacy. I'll never understand people who think it's fine to just drop in on you. My upbringing taught me to always call ahead. As a visitor, you never know what's going on in someone else's life that you might disrupt if you just 'drop in'. Im in my 70's and my grandmother also taught me as a child to 'clean up as you go along', and I've done so all my life. Sadly most people either weren't taught this, or chose not to subscribe to this axiom, but I agree wholeheartedly that it's the best way to go. It's NEVER fun to return to a task that is a big mess, and all your enthusiasm is quashed! You have done some lovely changes and clean-ups in your home and garden, Collette. Good for you! There's nothing so satisfying as achieving your goals, eh?

What you said about the Celtic calendar and July being the last month of summer resonates with me, although I know nothing about it. Once we get into August, although the heat can be very oppressive, since the earth itself is so hot, the light is different. Hot temperatures, but a slight thinning of the light, to me. I've noticed that for years now . I will ,ook into the Celtic calendar. I'm a brand new subscriber, btw. I .ove your cottage and magical gardens!

Hi Collette. I live in Tennessee, US, far south west, bordering Mississippi. Not the same climate, but find following you and others around the UK, we seem to be on track with the Celtic calendar as far as plants as well. Also, I have a property not unlike yours, and veggies are not my priority, but I like to grow what I can. I have 4 simple raised beds, and some containers. The only way I can manage and control. Around this I plant flowers and herbs, mostly in ground. Everything benefits, and the veggies get the TLC they need.

Here in South Saint Paul, MN, our light is similar to where you are and I feel it so strongly all the time. In fact, I've always found it odd that the meteorological first day of summer always felt so odd and a bit melancholy to me. I can feel the shifting of the time and the season. It doesn't feel like the first day at all, but the beginning of the descent, which is, of course, what it is.
Likewise, winters here can be long, but February light always cheers me immensely! I don't DISlike the growing darkness. I enjoy it and embrace it for what it is. But my BODY responds to the changing of the light and even though it's only just past the height of summer, I feel myself preparing to turn inward. The Celtic calendar literally FEELS so much more aligned with me and the climate here. Not so for everyone in the world, but it is for me right here.
Thank you for all you share, Colette. Always a delight and calming breath when I visit.

I hope people will realize the importance of respect for people's privacy. I know that they are not interested in doing anything harmful but it is extremely rude to come to anyone's home without an invitation.
Learning how to live together harmoniously and respectfully is a very important part of our journey together with peacefulness and kindness with thinking clearly about the needs of others as well as our own interests.
The idea of a place of peace, secretly hidden in the woodland garden is a splendid thing to create and use for a new energetic atmosphere of otherworldly magic and sacredness in a untrodden area that is always a sanctuary for contemplation and rejuvenation. ❤
We all deserve a peaceful and safe secret space for our lives with the healing and the ability to be peaceful and calm and unavailable for the rest of the world in this place of love and relaxation. ❤

Yes, definitely a secret garden as that would be a beautiful thing to do in that area.
Would you consider a seated area there, too?
I'm in the middle of a fatigue crash, and your videos are a comfort that this will pass, and I can get back to doing things.
    Blessings 😊

When I deal with weeds, I considering it to be harvesting them for mulch and compost. Same with cutting the parts of the lawn I haven't converted to garden yet.

You look great, Colette! And full of energy by the look of things! ! I love the idea of a secret garden! Maybe use some of that willow gone mad to create another archway? Whatever you decide to do, I know it will look magical!

Good morning Colette, enjoyed your video I agree with many others in comments re cold callers, unbelievable. I have the same design of roll on " stain glass" effect, on my kitchen / garden door glass panel it gets the sunlight in the morning and throws a beautiful light across the room. Also upstairs bathroom windows, no need for any other window coverage. I have a few of your calendars and have followed the same Celtic seasons, In my garden it's almost like a very early Autumn coming in lots of leaves wind blown, Hugs and Blessings to you 💚🌹

Love the stained glass..great idea!! Your paradise is looking fantastic dear Colette...job well done. 😂 I can understand that some people mean well just to pop in ..but i think it's rude and inconsiderate after all.
Great 👌 idea of secret garden.
