I love that Makkari only audibly yells when she assumed Druig was killed. Thena stabbing her and Ikaris blasting her didn't cause as much pain to her as thinking that Druig was dead

@@KanejBrekkdown i think they did that because Sersi was the main character out of all the Eternals, the one who identified most with humans and the one who saved them in the end, but for her to do that they had to be a big enough reason for why Ikaris didn't and couldn't kill her.
It’s the fact that Makkari didn’t use her super speed to run to Druig when she saw him alive. She was just so caught up in the moment
I also like when he was keeping the green tablet from her she could’ve easily used her super speed to take it from him but chose not to in favor of cute banter

Maybe she was using her regular speed because, even though he looked unscathed, she was worried that he was probably injured and didn't want to hurt him if she ran full speed at him. Plus, in a romantic way, it felt more realistic.

She was the only reason he tolerated anyone else. He hated everyone but her.
I don't think he "hated" everyone. He hated Ikaris and Kingo (sort of), but he cared for the other Eternals.
I mean it's a fun trope to imagine, but actually Druig has a decent relationship with Gil, Thena, and Phastos. Despite living in the Amazon, Druig knew Phastos lost faith in humanity after Hiroshima, so he probably kept in irregular contact with Phastos.
With Gil and Thena, they mentioned that Gil asked Druig to put Thena to sleep so Gil can take a vacation. There's also a quiet moment between Druig and Thena on the Domo, talking about the Deviant that killed Gil. I also think both Thena and by extension Gil, are grateful to Druig for indirectly preventing Thena's memory from being wiped. If Druig had not spoken up against Ajak, most likely Thena would have reluctantly agreed to have her mind wiped.
He has issues with people who follow the rules so Ajak, Ikaris, and Kingo. Thieves like Makkari appeal to him. He really just seems like a rebel, doesnt like being told what to do.
I feel like even Ajak and him had a decent relationship. They just didn't see eye to eye in regards to orders.

I was so worried that Druid would be the villain because of the black and red armor, plus his ability of mind manipulation. But I’m glad he survived, and now has a speedster girlfriend.

Druig and Makkari's relationship was more of "showing" rather than "telling" as opposed to Sersi and ikaris' relationship. And i guess thats why i love their relationships way better. They didnt tell us that they were in love, they showed us.

God when I first watched this movie in the theater, I thought Druig was so hot and I loved his personality so much then I saw them two interact and I was like damn so much chemistry I love them, I thought I was gonna be the only one who thought this but no? There’s a whole fandom and I love it
I thought it's funny how a lot of people are assuming Richard will be the one most people will go for, but Druig/Barry spawned a whole new level of appreciation and fandom.
True, genuine, chemistry. It cannot be acted, it cannot be replicated. And on top of that, it's so powerful, natural and radiant that you can recognize it despite it being on display barely for a couple of minutes. These two are proof. They weren't even supposed to be a thing but when such chemistry between two people literally pops out the screen it cannot be ignored. This is rare, and extremely attractive.
There honestly needs to be more deaf actors/actresses used in popular movies, because she had so much emotion and didn’t have to say anything, and it makes us as watchers more in tuned to them because we have to read the CC as well as read their faces like she honestly had more passive emotion than any of the other characters.
What i like the most about their relationship is that it is based upon genuine friendship

I'm pretty sure Barry himself has said on multiple occasions he’s had no formal training, but his performances are remarkable. Acting must truly run through his veins, if you cut him open maybe thousands of little golden men will fall out.

@@cultusfetus I've seen interviews about him talking about this. He had a rough childhood, and he only started acting when he saw like an open call when he was 17, and he wanted to make some money. He got the part and then he found he loved acting.
But he's not a "classically" trained actor like he didn't go to like an arts or drama school. He said he tried to apply to a few of the big ones but got rejected, but he did take like some classes from smaller ones or just informally.
For this movie, he said he enjoyed working with Chloe because she was really good in dealing with trained and non-trained actors, to draw out their performances.

Being someone who is mute and speaks sign language, and seeing a character like me with the people in her life treating her as normal just made me love this movie a whole lot more for that representation. Especially all the Druig and Makkari scenes in which he’d translate her sign language and stuff I absolutely love their screen time together. I have a friend who is committed to learning sign language w me to help translate to others what I am saying, and the amount of love I feel for her doing this is similar to what I felt when watching these two interact in the movie. I’d never seen a character use sign language like me in a movie before 😳

Makkari fighting Ikaris was the best action sequence in the entire movie. Also that forehead touch was better than any interaction between Ikaris and Sersi.
Eternals was a good movie, but Sersi and Ikaris' romance was so boring. It was just two really good looking people and a barbie and ken relationship. Seen that before.
But Druig and Makkari? Shiiiiit. I don't think I've smiled harder at two fictional characters flirting. They had SO much chemistry and personality that just - awhaaaa so good.

I'll say this much about Ikaris and Sersi. They are clearly those two too perfect for this world sort of people who are at first seemingly destined for happiness together but are doomed. Druig and Makkari are more of the misfits of life stumbling upon each other by accident and just happening to be exactly what the other needs, which is so much more compelling. And I don't think that is at all accidental on the movie's part. These two are the true power couple.
@@robertgronewold3326 It is kinda accidental in the sense that Druig and Makkari's romance was not in the original script. Supposedly there was an idea for Druig to have a history with Sersi. But when Chloe saw the chemistry and sparks between Barry and Lauren on set, they changed up the script a little to incorporate their romance.

@@TheDCbiz don't know if it can be classified as "cult". Looked amish-like but that is what i like about him. His ideas were controversial yet he stood by what he thought. All of these characters had a clear weakness or imperfection, except maybe Sersi bc her sensitivity was a [steriotypical weakness turned strength], and Druigs imperfection was that, his way of thinking. I do tend to go for the obviously "morally ambiguous" characters, the ones that question things and act on what they believe, so i see what you are saying. He isnt your classic All Good hero, but then again, in a cinematic universe driven by character more than lore or action...it usually goes that way

Druig and Makkari felt more realistic and relatable than Ikaris and Sersi. If only they had more screen time together...
And I think it's super awesome that the romantic aspect was improvised based on the actors' real-life chemistry. Chloe was surprised when she saw their chemistry via first meeting, and I think it's cool she was supportive of the improvisation. No doubt it came as a surprise to the rest of the cast.
