Fellow reseller here. Learned something about a different resale market. Tip: the credo that has paid off the most for me in resale: "touch each item as few times as possible." This is meant to save time. Organize while you clean instead of making it a separate step. Even better if grab like 30 5g buckets and organize from the pond. Make these the same container you fill with the water/bleach mix. So much time burned with unnecessary transfers/steps. Less time = more money per hour.
I used to be a furniture mover and we had a similar rule to make sure we could always get it done in a day. "Never pick something up twice if you don't have to" from the house straight to the truck in the stack. Organizing inside the truck can kill the whole day
this brings back memories, used to sneak onto the golf course in the morning with my gandpa when i was a kid and bring home golfballs that we would find in bushes, counted them after he died we had around 700 of them
@@justinz39sabres I would have used one of the rakes used the night before. But that is gonna scratch up the bed of the pick-up truck. Maybe keep a toy plastic rake on hand for this unless you just bring a tarp as someone else suggested earlier.
Started watching your videos early this summer and because of you guys I also began golf ball hunting on the side and reselling a huge amount of them. Thank you for inspiring me a bit to do a side hustle glad to see you guys drop a new video!
You should pick up a little giant bedding fork to sift the balls. It’s like 25 bucks would make it way easier. It’s what you use to pick turds out of a horse stall but it should do the trick
Thank you. I have been watching your videos since your first video came out and to gave me the idea to start for my own and not this summer i earned about 600 dollars. I am from Norway so its not so many golfplayers but still thank you so much
I'm sure you know about it, but I figured I would mention it if you didn't. At night, I go to the local country clubs and sneak in. I use a blacklight and find hundreds of balls. Premium balls. Good luck huntin boyz!
I met a guy at a Bob Evan’s countertop many years ago. Started talking to him and it turned out he was diver that would retrieve golf balls out of lakes at golf courses. So, I made a deal with him, I would buy every golf ball he brought me for $.10 a piece. I was buying them by the thousands. I started selling them in batches of 100 on eBay. Made okay money, but the dollars/hour made it not lucrative enough to continue the effort. Was a fun experience though. Keep it up boys, you never know where this will lead you!
This is pretty cool, i know the video is old but somethings i would suggest if you got the chance to do something similar again would be, a sand flea rake and depending on budget and how much you plan to invest in this bussiness, a shaker Screener Sieve Machine or a couple of cheap 30L ultra sonic cleaners.
The St Andews and Palmer balls will be elastic bands inside, they are freaky when you but one in half. As a kid all the balls were like that and they split a lot more often in play, they would bulge out on one side, disintegrate off the tee etc.
My daughter has just started a golf ball collecting business...so will definitely share this channel with her. When you clean the balls, I notice you soak them in water and some bleach and then clean them with a cloth....do you also clean off any custom markings that have been written on a ball (initials etc) with like a magic marker or texta? If so, I would be curious to know what you use to get these markings off because simply soaking them in water with bleach them cleaning with a rag doesn't seem to remove these markings. Thanks
That sure was one mammoth task ❤but you both did an orsome job 👌. Loved the box at the end with the cool and rare balls. Greetings from England 🇬🇧 Simon and Beth ❤❤❤
When i was a kid, age 13-16ish, my parents summer camp was course membership for me, and when they drained the hazards i would fill my bag, ended up with a pretty decent collection of oddity balls

btw you may already know but we used glass cleaner in our washing machines at the golf course. Foams better doesn't damage the urethane and looks great. plus probably a little better for your skin
So it seems like you could do less work if you consolidated your movements. Why not sort as you are washing each one by hand and putting them in matching piles? Seems like doubling up your work load. I am also surprised you don’t use a tarp or 10. I guess maybe that is a Midwest and Northern thing with leaves and in general. 😂 Awesome channel
With this many golf balls from a pond, are they still good quality even after cleaning? I started getting some from the pond and alot are bubbled up on the outside …

I don’t golf so it may be a stupid question but I’m genuinely curious, why would they be ruined? I could see the sun possibly damaging the, over time if out of the water but other than that I’d think they’d be fine for the most part.
@@Debbiebabe69 if people want to play with less than optimal performance balls then go ahead! I was just commenting to let people know that balls found in those conditions are generally not in the best shape of their lives
i think i saw you mention the danger of snakes once, so i was wondering why not bring one of those ballpickers with the long pipe mechanism and bag to store the balls in?
you need a power washer, trash pump, filter set, and two ag tanks, and a stainless beach rake with a pole extension. clean water in one tank dirty in the other, use the trash pump and filter to capture and reuse the water you use with the pressure washer to blast out balls rather then rake. if you set it up right and get the right extensions you could blast out balls while the pond is still filled and grab them with the beach rake.
I would probably buy a golf ball cleaner like they have at every hole and replace the handle with a drill. Pop in 3 or 4 balls at once. Hit the drill. Clean.
You need to move the red spacers on the garbage can wheels to the inside. Figured it out myself after the can kept tipping over. It will give you more stability.
great job, get yourself a pair of work gloves when pulling through all that stuff.. Never know sharp pieces of glass or plastic that will ruin your night. Keep it up!!!!
If you lay a tarp down before putting the balls in the truck bed, you can collect the water and soap like a bucket when you're at the carwash and clean the balls like a bath tub, not a shower.
@@Tom-ok2rh This has nothing to do with the brand or the model. When a ball sits in the mud or under-water, it soaks up a bunch of water. A golf ball is supposed to weigh 1.62 ounces.
