Hello and thanks for the vid it was very helpful. I see my vacuum pump is leaking on a 2010 Q5 w 90k miles on it. I would like to buy the correct seal or rebuild kit. Several of the reviews say the one recommended will leak due to the large gasket not having ridges on it.....do you know the oem seal / gasket to buy? Or is there a seal kit that will work and not leak? My engine is the 3.2 thanks
Follow up comment. I just checked with the dealer and they are selling the pump with gasket for $300 which is almost reasonable but I would love to save a couple of hundred if the rebuild works. Dealer doesnt sell the rubber internal gasket so do u recommend buying the seal kit in your show more link and only using the rubber inner gasket and then buying oem engine gasket from dealer for $16? At that point I would only be out $29 for the kit and $16 for the gasket. Seems crazy to pay 29 for 1 rubber gasket but it will save me a couple of hundred if it works. I would be grateful if you would reply. Thank you
Hi - is there any sort of issue with the center piece not being perfectly lined up? It's leaking on my S4 and I want to change the o-ring and gasket. Will it just not mount back on correctly, or can damage occur if it's not perfectly lined up?
Somewhat of a novice here but I like to turn a wrench. I have a 2011 Audi A6 3.0T that needs a new vacuum pump. Mechanic is trying to charge me $650 to replace, dealer is $950. Want to try it myself as it looks pretty easy. Is this all there is? Is there more to it than this video? I thought I read you have to bleed the brake lines, etc.....? Also saw the rebuild kit at RKX....is that a viable option or should I just fork out the cash for the entire unit? Thanks for the great video and the help!! Spencer P.S. I also live in San Diego!! North PB
Spencer Combs Yes there is no need to open up any bake lines. This video is complete from start to finish. As far as the rebuild kit I think it’s a good option. Most the time these are only being rebuilt because of leaking oil. I would give it a try👍🏻
Can I contact you I have Audi suv 2014 I have the break not pedal hard it’s go easy I do replace the master cylinder and blessed and still same nothing change from and now try to change the booster break just the net lead me to your page please advice thank you ?
Mine actually sheared the gear, resulting in the actual housing the pump seats in to lock up and just destroy everything... does anyone know if i can replace just the cam or am i looking at an all new head?
Did this today, went with the rebuild, looks great so far. Super Easy! saved me $600 from the local mechanic, $950 from the dealer!!
Spencer Combs that’s awesome!! Thank you for sharing!
Was there. Bolt right under the pump? There’s a tiny hole right above it.
Yes. There were 3 bolts from what I remember. Stuff a towel down in there to keep them from falling.
Can you buy new torque bolts? Mines is looking a little worn but I can’t find replacement bolts anywhere.
Does one of the symptoms include car jerking forward when braking to almost a complete stop?
No you just need to modulate the pedal
Mines leaking, would you think I need a new part or new gasket.. thanks for the video!
Rebuild it! Costs $30 for a nice kit, cheaper it you source the o-rings yourself

Do you have the part number from Audi for the hose you mention?
