Oh great. If you see 1.99 on the digital label and get scanned 5.99 at checkout, you then say you saw 1.99, and lo and behold, digital price label now says 5.99.
Inflation is going up so fast that by the time you get to the checkout Tanner, the ticket has already increased. They need up-to-date pricing because inflation is going at such a high-speed speed.
Won't happen this system will end price discrepancy. Price changes will likely only happen in the middle of the night when the store is closed or very few people are there
Get ready for "surge pricing" at Walmart 🤬

Well it's what people get for complaining about being overcharged all the time. If everyone wasn't such karens about it they never would have felt forced to create a new system to ensure price accuracy and in the process of fixing the Karen problem the stumbled over a way to make surge pricing easily done.
Now they can raise prices at peak times.
That is their game plan!!
They won't do that because it will make customers angry and they will stop coming

They can but it's what the people deserve for being karens when something doesn't ring up at the same price the shelf said. This was a program they started to fix the Karen problem and in the process they found the system made surge pricing possible.
Add more cashiers and people to open the locked items since employees don't need to walking around the store changing labels. Walmart makes so much money but theres never enough cashiers.
Exactly, I get tired of waiting and waiting for someone to finely come and unlock what I need.
Open up self check out again. I prefer it. Won’t shop there if I have to use a cashier

Lwts wait till people begin to steal those tags too 😂
😂🤣
Next walmart will introduce surge pricing.

more efficient = hiring less employees XD
They are also trying to keep up with inflation. By the time you walk into the store and walk out, all of the goods have increased in price thanks to Biden.
So they can raise prices when ever
They are trying to prevent tag switching theft. A very popular method these days

Nope. It's called a way for them to practice "dynamic pricing "
Walmart, WHAT is the EXACT purpose of this ??? 👹👺👹
Price gouging instantly

This is going to open Walmart to more hacking.
PS5 now .01
@@grateful.
How about everything in the store reset to .01
@@davidhenderson3400 that would be awesome and everything is buy one get one free
Oh yea I was at Walmart yesterday and I completely forgot they do not accept Tap Pay like Google Pay neither apple pay so maybe upgrade that first . .....
I've seen these in Aldi and I hate them. If you look at them from a distance or at the wrong angle, all you see is a glare from the LED lights in the store. Plus when anything heavy falls on them or a cart bumps into one of them, they break. And if something is on sale or clearance, you can't peel back the sale price tag to see what the original price really was. Walmart loves to say something is on "Rollback" even when it was always that price.
Do shoplifters care what the digital signage reads as they stuff the items in their pajama pants before walking out? As long as they keep it below $950 it is a misdemeanor in California, right?
When they walk through the front door to get out, won't it triggers a suspicious sound? That's how they will get caught, right?
lol, these are standard in most European countries and have been for years.
One world order. Hello?
How are European countries doing these days? 🤔 Is everyone happy as they were 20 years ago?
Do you know how long it takes us to do these? Imagine having 400 price changes for a single department only to get finished and see 100 more by the time you finish. This is why you get prices that sometimes are not right, because people miss or skip them trying to get them done. This is just going to mean you won't see as many mistakes. They aren't going to surge price, that's not how it works. It still has to have an employee activate them which is not something we do just on a whim it just part of something we do in our weekly cycle. If anything it means items that get marked down for clearance will do so much faster as that's what we usually do last.
Couldn't the price conceivably go down too - or announce a sale?
Digital Blue Light Special, if only Kmart were still a thing 😂
Nope there doing it tho change prices at will and take human jobs. Don't shop at places that do this
Real time pricing?
-Sounds like they can't predict how bad Bidenomics will get.
U people are hilarious 😆.

Going to be a lot of people taking pictures of price tags at Walmart when they buy stuff.
I am not shopping at Walmart anymore. I was there the other day and it’s been $363. I’m not very much food and I’m tired of it.
Kills a lot of job opportunities
Walmart beat Publix to it. Publix has more money than Walmart and even they don't have digital price tags yet.
Went to a local Walmart Market and I seen the price tags and I was shocked! First thing in my head was 'This is so cool!'.
Walmart is behind the times. We had these electronic signs 10 years ago in Sears 😳
From an ex cashier. Pictures people. TAKES PICTURES ESPECIALLY IF THE PRICE LOOKS REALLY “GOOD”
Sounds like bidenomics to me 🤔
FJB!
Best Buy’s been doing that lol why is this news
Because this is the start of Walmarts "DYNAMIC PRICING" They can charge more for the same item during busy days / hours. Wendy's already announced they would be doing it with their digital screens.
would it have been too much for this reporter to go inside the store to check and see what’s going on BEFORE going on air??? 😑🙄😬
I can already picture those screens being all scribed on 😂
Now that's lame field reporting.
Let's go stand outside of a Walmart (why?), but NOT go in to see if they have these 'digital screens'.
They plan to raise prices when the store is busy and lower when there is no one in the store
since digitization is near every product, new sensors can be built into every price device giving more valuable data, like shrink detection
New technology? Best Buy and other stores been had these.
INSTANTANEOUS price gouging!!!!!!!!!
I've seen kohl's use digital tags a couple of years ago.
I feel this is di we get charged more then we should be paying. I feel it's a scam to us consumers
I'm working on installing these things they're a pain the rear to attach to the racks
How do they work? I mean what is the power source? Wonder how long they work for before you have to replace them
And all those blinking lights? My eyes won’t be able to handle it.
I hope our Walmart doesn’t do this. My only other option would be Safeway
If you want to buy anything from Walmart online, you have to create an account. No more checking out as a guest. Same thing with Target online shopping. 😠
Make sure to snap pics, they'll be changing the price on you often that certainly foreseeable. "They'll wait till you reach the checkout"
LOL end cap jobs are first to go.
You should be able to scan the price when you pick it up off the shelf, so it can’t change on the way to the register, that seems fare
Like a scanner on your phone using a “Walmart app” 😎
So maybe you can search a product on your phone/app and it will tell you what isle it’s on?
Walmart Making so much money they can't afford to pay employees living wages or reducing any prices.
Corporate greed.
Probably true. But the minimum wage hike in CA resulted in over 10,000 people so far losing their jobs. I'll bet they would rather have the $16 now.
What do you feel is a "living wage"?
The problem is Fiat Currency and Biden's reckless spending of it.
I admit that I am a snob and I don't like what WM stands for so I'll never go in their stores but why is this news?
Whole Foods has utilized
digital tags for years.
I’m VERY HAPPY where I live in Calabasas doesn’t allow Walmart, same with Westlake Village. Awful store!! Mostly Chinese made junk, sugary soda everywhere, candy, processed food, more sugar……and all the money goes back to ARKANSAS!! 🤷🏼♂️🤔👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Eddie, for the love of baby Jesus, stop huffing paint thinner.
@@pearlsswine …..Calabasas, and Westlake Village city councils specifically forbid Walmart from opening …….thankfully!!
This is a sad story I remember square not being limited to brand assets to invest in if wal mart is not of square or clover brands why capitalize of this digital price tag and again these digital price tags and farmers markets they use square and clover products whom have to stay relevant and contempt but these digital auctions these digital price tags would be most relevant
They must be planning for hyper inflation 😢
That’s fine because they still have a price per ounce.
yes and we also need the walmarts to put up live guiding prices like in the grand exchange that can be found within the video game mmo called: old school runescape.
This is stupid
@@M4tTh3w909 supply and demand. it would also help farmers out who have to deal with the changing prices. why does the price of gas go up and down. "THIS IS STUPID." .....
Probably says 1 dollar and by the time you get to the register it's 1.57 😮 😢
Good idea. Price tags get switched.
Economy so bad walmart gotta fluctuate the prices
AI has started at Walmart.
Employees will become more efficient when they don't have to come to work 😢
Wow so they can be able to change prices around.
OMG my literal reaction
get ready for bias pricing
Great idea
Why does tag blink though?
The tag will blink when item is scanned to make it easy to find
10 year old technology, finally catching up are we
When is my salary goin tobe surge to match this crap!? How can i budget when i don't know prices?
@@snidelywhiplash6889 stop whining
There's no difference if you offer "discounts" during one time and "normal" prices when it's busy.
i wonder if i one could snap it off and use it at home 🤔
Aldi to I heard

Lol😂
Best buy been doing this tho, shrug

awsome, way to go Walmart
Price gouging on the fly 🤣
Lmao is that even safe
Some things are better left alone
Boo!! I'll shop online!
God job finding the most uninformed person to interview
It is a great decision by Walmart to change the prices digitally through out the stores. It saves time and man hours.
