Thank you for this reaction. Judith passed away about two months ago. She was dearly loved in Australia. It is a beautiful song and sums up Australia so well.
I am an Australian. Loved your reaction and thank you so much for your comments and emotions. Said the following many times in similar forums - "this should be Australia's National Anthem".
As an Australian, this is one of my favourite songs and I can never get through it without shedding a tear and feeling grateful for living in this wonderful country.
Maybe the people who are trying to divide this land and people should listen to this song and understand we are Australians and all love our country no matter what colour, religion we are whether we have lived here for 40,000 years or 1
Great reaction! A great Australian folk band who had international success but never lost their roots. This was their last performance after decades of hard work and a very long list of great songs. Judith was not well here, but she gave it her all. She passed away recently so this is now even more special. I have said it before, but I am yet to see a reactor who doesn't join in by the end. You did not disappoint! 😍
So happy to watch you experrience this special song of and by Australia. We love it Down Under and most people feel more emotionally close to the message in this song than our own national anthem. Thank you for your beautiful reaction and showing how it made you feel in your heart. Love from Sydney AUS!
OK Aussies, I'm an American and I would like to start a WORLD WIDE vote to make this your national anthem. I absolutely love this song as it brings a tear and joy to me. I feel like I could be an Aussie as well. I'm sure God listens to Judith sing every day with that angelic voice.
Thank You for your emotional reaction to I AM AUSTRALIAN. I am an Englishman and also find it can move me to tears. People around the world are 'moved' by this song. Bruce Woodley of THE SEEKERS co wrote it with his friend Dobe Newton in 1987. God Bless.
O and as i told the other sweet lady from Nigeria reacting, this band made us blackfullas who own the land feel so much respect and thank you for the memories as a 58 yr old it brought tears to my eyes remembering hugging my 2 besties on the last day of school crying hugging drooling laughing and i still love them FYI they had chinese and nz heritage, we thank each other for being there for each other everyday, back then racism was bad, so us 3 were not worth messing with, cause as they knew u mess with 1 ya mess with all 3 mate.. again thank you for the beautiful memories and most of all your amazing response, my son besties(my white son like forever) his the most amazing beautiful Australian Nigerian wife and she to me IS FABULOUS 24/7, need love support a listener shes always there, cone visit beautiful
we are one... but we are many... and from ALL the lands on Earth we come... we'll share a dream, AND SING WITH ONE VOICE ......... I am .... you are.... we are Australian ♥
You will love the song "I Still Call Australia Home." The Qantas Children's choir version is amazing. The song was written by my cousin, Peter Allen. He wrote it somewhere in the World, jetting between stage performances. It is very heartfelt. Australians do some great patriotic songs.
We are all one, all human and all living as one. We aussies love everyone no matter where your from, the religion you follow or the culture you are born into. We are one and we are many!
Trivial fact: the Sydney harbour Bridge is about half a metre out of alignment It had to "fall together" and was at it's weakest at that point (so we bolted it crooked). We literally built a bridge crooked just because we were "over it" and didn't want it falling in the river, it was a dream that 99% of Australians probably shared so it was achieved (it's still used and I believe it's still crooked 100 years on)
I'm Australian and I wish this was our national anthem because this song gives me pride and proud to be an Aussie. To me we are all Australian whether born here or immigrated here. I love our vast multicultural country and I know there are other countries that are also very multicultural but I believe us Aussies do it best. We all need to love each other in this world. ❤
Whose father Red Kelly was a political activist in Ireland at a time when the Irish had no righttls in their own country. The reference to Ned Kelly evokes the notion of coming to Australia to found a country where everyone has freedom and human rights. We're getting there.
@@lmac6388 Yes, I agree. Ned Kelly means a lot more to Australian culture and history than his being a bushranger. He is a symbol of resistance to oppression and discrimination. His Jerilderie letter sets it all out in some detail. It's well worth reading.

Omg as an Australian indigenous woman u can cry baby u beautiful with or without paint, in 58yrs old got 6 grown kids 32 grandkids and wore paint back when i got married in 1987 and never worn it since. My parents said u didnt come out with make yp what ever happened to natural beauty, we werent allowed to wear it dae said it makes ya look cheap and i was born a 60s baby, so him telling me that in the 80s god bless him and mums soul to not have to go through any more pain, give me the 70s, 80s and maybe 90s anyday, my kids say im old achool, yet i say bs i got a mobile phone, knowing i call them from payphones still and its upgraded its free to any Aussie number..lol
so right so emotional haven't cried so much in so long. as a kiwi its the best anthem down under. 🥹 as a kiwi I cry every time. its so much better than our national anthem. certainly better than that maori crap we have to listen to. better than 'god save the queen' lol. this should be aussies national anthem.
Unity is important, the problems arise when people place too many conditions on it and exclude those who can't abide by them. For some people the wounds of generations are too deep and still too fresh to consider unity. Other people have never been offered a hand that wasn't a closed fist. For a lot of people unity means others being silent about the problems they face. This song is an aspiration, but it isn't our reality unfortunately.

Thank you 🙌❤️
Exactly! This is an heartfelt song

I agree, too bad down under is our anthem
It's lovely little pop/folk song.
It's not an anthem, nor even remotely connected to an anthem.

This was emotional for the Seekers as it was the farewell. Judith wanted to take part, she was not well. All their voices blended.
