    Hi Roger, If you open up the SMC5 the internal memory is provided by an SD card which can be replaced. I have replaced mine with a faster high quality 32GB one and the performance is slightly better but it is great that it can be replaced as this would be a point of failure due to the cheap Chinese internal one fitted.

    Dear Roger!
    I want to put such a controller on a milling machine.
    My question would be, how do I write a MACRO if I also want to put a tool changer on it?

    I wonder if this controller is interactive like Mach3 ?
    Meaning is it possible to type Gcode in a command prompt let's say to cut a straigth line?
    Thanks

      I'm going back to Mach 3, I would not bother with the SMC!

    Hi Roger, What do the red dots represent on the smc5 controler screen

    • @rogerwebb9600
      @rogerwebb9600  3 года назад +1

      The red dots are indicators for things like limit switches or relays to switch external equipment on and off

    i thought you was buying a avid cnc, what happened? did the misses say no?

      I was, but then I was thinking mmmm $12,000 and then a lot of comments and emails were telling me that this was all too expensive.
      So I was thinking about, what is my channel all about, so that is why I would rather spend on building my own and showing you all how to do it.

      yeh i think you are right it is alot of money, if i could afford it iam not sure i could part with the cash either. Much more fun to make your own anyways
