Yeah people overlook this, why is it even a question why red bull fell off? Anyone with eyes can see the exact race he left was when they stopped dominating. He clearly had a huge influence on set up that they wont admit to
I feel like this is just the beginning, and 2025 season is gonna be so good. We have a rookie with the worst teammate. We have Lewis in a Ferrari. I think its gonna be awesome.
I like how in the middle of all this we’ve completely forgotten about Aston Martin and the downfall that they’ve had after being part of “formula A” last year and now being back in the midfield
Fernando returning to the sharp end of the field kept me excited all season last year. I hope Aston Martin will be back in the mix for 2025, but I doubt it
The short answer is tires. Tire temperature variabilities skew innate performance differential's. The cars are close enough that minute climatic changes causes massive performance swings. Redbull is no longer dominant. Mclaren is back! James Allison is cooking!
I am a Max fan, and I ENJOY seeing Max dominating like he did in 2022, 2023, and the first races of '24. However I like seeing the other drivers show their ability and shine with results worthy of their talent (just like Russell with that strategy call in Spa before his disqualification, among others).
Yeah for sure. Domination for anyones favourite driver is always enjoyable. But those wins that Max has had to work a lot harder for this season are much more memorable imo. Reminds me of the pre-2021 Max.
Season has been hype with all these new winners. Would love to see Alonso win a race. Checo needs to lock in and do good, especially win a Baku, Singapore, or Mexico (better not DNF like last year). Heard the rumor of him getting an older RB20 for the next few races since he did good in those early races, we’ll see how that goes
Enjoy it while it lasts, after the new regulations in 2026 it's likely that it will go back to a period of dominance by whichever team nails the new regs until the other are able to converge.
I think there is one thing that nobody is talking about: how similar this season has been to the 2020 season. Yes, the world was hit by a global pandemic in 2020, yet Lewis Hamilton won his 7th world title with dominance. However, during that championship, we were clearly watching either Max Verstappen or Red Bull improve with each race of that year. The result was not only we were pleased with the iconic Lewis vs. Max battle in the 2021 season, but also it showed how Max and RB learned from their mistakes and proved to everybody that they could be as competitive as Lewis and Mercedes. The same thing is happening right now this year with Mclaren, Mercedes and Ferrari (kind of) finding the right foot, wining a couple of races as well as proving that they can be competitive as RB. Although I can clearly see Max winning this year's championship, we might witness a season for the ages with 3 or 4 teams fighting for the title next year, and it makes me really excited about what comes next.
In 2009 Brawn (which is now Mercedes) began the year super dominant but fell away as the season went on, with first Red Bull and later McLaren outdeveloping them and eventually catching up. How great would it be if we were on for a repeat of that just with Brawn/Merc and Red Bull in role reversal?
That’s a very good point. Depends how far Red Bull fall and how much better the likes of Merc/McLaren really are. The Constructors is definitely far from over, but the drivers is likely gonna be MV
Another great video 🔥. Looking forward to the Belgian GP video… and after that a possible video on the royal mess in Lord Horner’s Red Bull-shire team 😜???
This season is insane going in to a race weekend with no idea who is gonna be on the top step of the podium is what we all want to see and yeah its probably gonna be more competitive going forward
Id truly love if you made this exact video format for each season of the last 10 years talking about each race and dynamics. Just a thought haha great video
You'll need to create another video for the end of the season to add more surprises, Lando's second win, Ferrari wins in Monza Italy, KMag is banned from a race. Potential addition: Bearman gets points with Ferrari and Haas, Colapinto gets points in a Williams, and the potential fight for the Drivers and Constructors championship
Pisses me off that we have only one more year on current regs. Imagine if it didn't change, we potentially could have 5 teams fighting by late 2025 into 2026 if Newey cooks at Aston(if he joins them that is)
Really is annoying how this is the last year of the regs. It seems like the limit has been reached in terms of performance and now we can see drivers making the difference. At least 2025 is setup to be a banger.
@@rohrbrot4563 I get your point. Am just against changing them this regularly. This current regs will have lasted only 4 years and will be completely overhauled, both the engine and the aero. 2021 to an extent was manufactured since merc were nerfed with the floor cutout. This competitive grid has become this way naturally and now is reaping its rewards. I just dont understand why the need to change it so quick. Especially for cars which will be 10 seconds slower.
That would be a crazy fairytale story winning a driver championship in a Ferrari with a constructor championship after a long years would broke the internet.
2024 was the first season in 25 years where I decided to not watch - cause why watch when you know the winner before race starts! And there have been some super boring years with Mercedes/Hamilton, Vettel/RedBull, and Ferrari/Schumacher dominating so utterly that both titles were decided by June, and really we knew after AussieGP. Anyway it’s been really nice to see 2024 season turn into what we always hope for but rarely get, multiple teams with genuine chance to win races, and possibly first title fight since crazy 2019 🙂 Well done video btw, got a sub
Give it a rest man. I love Lewis too but I'm getting sick of these Merc is trying to sabotage Lewis. They gave him a championship winning car for 8 years.
damn i really do be having mad adhd huh. i read the tittle like 3 times as extinct and i clicked the video to see what in the world it’d be about only to realize at 0:11 how wrong i was.😔
It was already competitive last year, just that it was for 2nd spot and best of midfield. Red Bull being a lot of better just deemphasized it. Now that the teams have caught up to Red Bull (part of that because of their own screwup in the direction they took RB20 in), that effect is now being seen for the top.
IMO while the racing product isn’t the most exciting the amount of competition now makes up for the meh racing instead of having one team dominate the entire season
I think the best contributor to this situation in F1 is car development and the fact that we are closer to the end of the 2022 regulation than the start, for each GP a team lost 0,2s per lap and an other get 0,3s so now this is not 1 dominant car/driver. (Who finishes 40s ahead the 2nd at the end of the race…) So this years it’s possible to fail predicting the winner of the race and OMG this years is amazing For sure RB will lost the F1 constructor championship, and maybe the driver championship (but this needs 2/3 mechanical failure for Max 😅)
Max was super lucky this year where redbull was the dominant car in the first 7 races. If that wasnt the case he would have lost the WDC this year . Because mercedes car was so behind in perfomance in the first 6-7 races lewis was affected as otherwise I reckon lewis had good chance to fight for the 8th wdc this year if mercedes car was among the group of fastest cars or behind by 0.2/0.3 seconds like the last 5 races.
only down sidee to all of this is that verstappen is about 3 races clear in the championship and either after the summer break or summer break part 2 (after singapore) verstappen and redbull will most likely run away unless he sandbags, everyone bashes heads together, he will win the title before november. if f1 had a playoff system, it would be highl anticipated
To me, F1 have always been exciting. I've been a massive fan of the sport and I don't just watch it to see who wins, which I know now that new fans only watch that way and that's why it's "boring". F1 always had domination, new fans are just used to watching netflix and listening to sky sports hating Max winning but missing out on great battles behind him. Coming from a Ferrari fan, fans of F1 can't just demand a result that they want, whatever happens in the race naturally is what defines the teams and drivers. Now, I do feel that the FIA and teams make up stuff on track to create more drama for new fans which makes the sport look more like a drama series instead of it just being the real F1. This is the F1 that Senna would despise, and the F1 that pays tribute to him every year.
Yep .... This season is the peak of 2022 reg ..... But the fight could've started a little sooner in the season ... Lets hope 2025 gives us the perfect finale cz everything gonna change again in 2026 with new engine regulation
I really think that red bull’s car was illegal beginning of the year, but they kept it until they had built enough points and buffer for max to win/ have a shot at the championship. After that they have made it legal again by “upgrading” the car again. There was a gap of 20 seconds between max and the rest of the grid in the beginning of the season. I don’t buy it that it just disappears just like that.
Its wild to hear "George and Mercedes caught him by surprise" its his fucking team, how are they catching him by surprise. Why are they trying for Christ sake
the most funny think about all of this is since Max won his last race he still the driver banking more points and he is not driving the fastest car anymore...
