Proverbs 17:10 A quiet rebuke to a person of good sense does more than a whack on the head of a fool.
So hopefully your quiet rebuke caught some traction! Love your videos, I can’t seem to miss a single one these days because I enjoy the equipment, your conversations with the stadium people, and I admire/ respect your work ethic and pursuit of quality. You’d be a great neighbor, and in some ways, it feels like you are as I do many of the same activities on our property out in western Oregon up in the wooded hills of the coast range. Human nature is a predictable course, it’s evident that envy blooms on branches of discontentment.
Keep up the good work and quality as I know you know no other way! 👏🏼

    • @romeosierra1766
      @romeosierra1766 14 дней назад +12

People who complain in life, are people who have not learned to take responsibility for themselves. They expect everything to be handed to them without any effort on their part. Like a child who complains when they don’t have what another child has. We are given a life without guarantees. If they’re not happy it’s on them. Thanks Mike for being open, honest and sharing your thoughts. It’s why we enjoy watching you when it seems like the rest of the world is fake.

People watch your content because it is relatable. There's always going to be people coming and going. The tasks you do, for me, are the relatable part. If it was just you cutting wood and splitting it with the same equipment every day that would get boring. Your views are consistent, so you must be doing something right.

I have quite a large collection of tools for everything i have ever done, from automotive to carpentry to plumbing to electrical. I still love to learn new techniques and different jobs. I may not be the best at some things, though I am very good at quite a f🎉ew of them. With guys out there on YOU tube like you and hundreds of others I am still learning more and more! THANKS TO YOU AND ALL THE REST OF THE GUYS AND GALS OUT THERE my life would get very dull! Most places in the country have given up on trade schools. Hi Mike, I have watched from the beginning. I live in Michigan and my property has hundreds of mature blue spruce trees. They are all dying of a disease called needle cast. I have been cutting 10 to 15 down per year in late winter and replacing them with Norway spruce and Douglas fir. When I had to remove the stumps the first year I dug them out by hand. But after watching your video years ago when you rented an excavator, I rented one too. It was amazing. In 2 hrs and 12 minutes I had dug out 5 stumps. It cost me $400 for the day and was well worth it. I might not have ever thought of doing that if it had not been for you renting one for a month to use around your property. Thank You. Keep up the good work.

On a different level I admire your ingenuity, combined with your skills both employing machinery to streamline your operations and productivity. I also enjoy seeing the skills you have operating the machinery, I know from my experience there is a fluidity of using the hydraulics to handle heavy materials safely and "gracefully" and not simply bash and bang things about. Further your comments and common sense shine through and you've highlighted some of the worry and confusion we face with our current Administration and the seemingly lacking in leadership.

Maybe somebody out there never knew the Avant is available and they are interested in one because you have shown them how useful it is! I love seeing equipment and how it works and how useful it can be. Everyone needs to use the tools they can afford to save wear and tear on your body. have you considered a back hoe attachment with the log grapple for your tractor, or maybe front loader attachment? It may get you almost the same functionality as the wheel loader (easy on turf, articulating head, decent lifting strength, good land speed). Won't work as good as a dedicated machine but it's not 100K either.

Being able to trailer it, and the range of attachments would make it valuable to be able to harvest urban logs a whole lot easier than my CTL.

I want to thank you Mike. Yes it is easy to covet another man's success. However, I am all about action so that is my interest. God bless your family and rewards for hard work. We own several diesel powered pieces of equipment as well. Most of mine is retired rental or govt fleet. Seeing equipment out there being used helps me decide if I need to use it, own it or rent it.
My wife and I bought a portion of a large farm and have built our barn (last year) and working on the house today. Your advice from your shop build about renting the larger excavator by the month was good advice. With only my wife and myself framing the house, we rented a telehandler and later on a man lift to make the construction easier/safer. We are at the early part of our 60's and believe me, mindful of what our limits are. Things have gone pretty slow as I am still working full time but certainly beyond 2 weeks, the monthly rate is the way to go. Your advice reminded me to ask for those rates. Luckily my rental company is a good one that lets you stair step into the monthly rate so you can decide based on a weekly rate at first if the equipment meets your needs. Yeah, it's getting expensive but what is your life and health worth to you? Still cheaper than hiring a framing crew (sadly) and my wife and I can later say, yep we built this. It's not our first one either (#5). It would be nice to own this equipment but finding something affordable and working right when you need it can derail progress. For example, I own a Genie S40 lift but it is down because the main boom piston seal is bad. it went bad during our barn build and I resorted to one those tow around things (never again, beats a ladder). Turns out, I needed an S60 for this house and 4WD so my S40 was not the proper tool anyways. Still, those darn things are maintenance nightmares. I have to fiddle with it constantly, probably because it sits a lot. It likely would have saved me more than it was worth if it was working. Just bad timing.
I did purchase an excavator and skid steer. I think I could have rented the excavator but the skid steer (Takeuchi) is very handy on a farm. The excavator may be too as i migrate from construction to property maintenance. We are in Georgia and my excavator (JD35G) actually came from a auction company in eastern PA. I have some nasty road banks that need mowing, Having a small mower on the excavator stick would be the way too go. I may look into that. We have excavated and graded about 3000 yds of soil with those two machines. A barn pad that is 80 x 100 with margins takes a lot of dirt in the hilly area where our farm is. i had my doubts about excavating our basement with the 35G but let me tell you, it digs great. The boom and stick extension is the bigger problem. You have to throw spoils nearby and have someone (me too) bucket that away. I think 35G's are really Hitachi machines but that thing is amazing for its size. Sure could have used a grading bucket.
Sorry for the book. i just wanted you to know there are plenty of us workhorses out there getting it every day and we appreciate those of you willing to document and share you experiences,
For everyone that can't afford to own, quit hiring people to do your work. Go to the rental place, they will deliver and you will have to satisfaction of doing it your self, good or bad and learning something new. Trust me, fear is the only thing holding you back. You never know, you might build a business on that experience, help a friend or stranger, find a career, start a youtube channel. Look what Mr Mike did, hat's off to you sir..

As a skilled tradesman, I get up every day and run my business. After years of doing that, I look around and realize that I have accumulated some stuff and built a decent life for my family. Some of my own family and friends have commented before, in an envious sort of way, that they think I must be rich... totally discounting the persistence and hard work that I've put in over the years. We like all the different content you put on, I'll probably never have wooded property unless I move, but I love watching every bit of what you show, whether its equipment, getting tours of related equipment, truck stuff, trailer stuff, your trail cameras, cabin, pond, helping with community projects, wood cutting, splitting etc. I bought a TYM 25 because of the RK's you used a few years back, would've bought RK but there are no Rural King's in Iowa.

Mr. Morgan, I have a lawn care business. I live in Monroe NC. People say the same about my equipment. I started 30 years ago with New Holland and a push mower, a Green Machine weed trimmer. Changes had to be made because there was a need to upgrade. I leased then I found the Bobcat. Have had the Bobcat for 30 years. However, I upgraded to Hustler, without forgetting the Bobcat. My starter zero turn. Any money made goes back into my business. So, keep doing what you're doing. Ignore the haters. And keep making your videos. They're very informative. Sincerely, Gene, of Gene's Lawn Care.

Good morning, Mike. You and Melissa have a nice family that we have gotten to know. I have watched your channel for a long time. You have numerous revenue streams and that is what a good businessman does. One of the channels that I watch is a beef farmer in NC who says that along with farming and raising cattle, he is a "content creator" in You Tube which helps him pay for the things that he needs to do for his farm. For me, the You Tube Channels that I watch have content that interests me although I may never (probably will never) participate in what they do, ie: building and living in Alaska, biking in Britain, farming, cabin building in Minnesota, and fishing and camping all over the world. Any of it sure beats the content on regular TV nowadays.
As for the Avant. What a great machine and I believe a steal for $1,000 a week. The price to buy is pretty high, but it can do so many things for you. That extendable boom is a great feature. Imagine putting a brush cutting head on it to clean out multiflora rose and the side of your trails. You have shown a lot of uses and there are so many more. Maybe they'll give you a discount for the advertsing that they are getting.
Finally, I have seen that guy on TV a few times and he didn't impress me. What an embarassment to the Administration, President Biden (although he wouldn't know), and the American People. Thanks for including that.

If you watch closely, the video is edited, quite clearly towards the end when his hands glitch from one spot to another instantly. Again, not defending the blubbering, but it isn’t the whole unedited interview.

At 16:00, exactly right. (well AND your charming personality). The subject matter stays relatively the same but you manage to bring fresh ideas and angles to it. And then there are the "side angles" related to a specific project like seeing what can be done with concrete besides just a flat slab. And we find out one can buy an entire cabin that can be brought over the road and "erected" in a matter of hours. And you have a constant stream of relatable videos. Thanks Mike!
