"Starter bike, I dont likr that term, because every bike is a bike"
This sentence somehow flashed me, idk why but that just makes you such an awesome person :)
instaBlaster...
Your videos are really good but... cut... cut... cut... cut... cut
I really do apologize for that, i didin't think it was going to be as bad as it was... but after hearing it for myself, yeah... ill make sure for future videos never to do that
Nicholas Benjamin I didn't notice the cuts until I saw your comment, I now hate you.
Autistic Sasquatch you're welcome
Was just about to say the same bloody thing, I have no idea why youtubes think they need to do this
Mafr0 i think it sounds fine, just has to use it well and he did okay, not perfect but it’s fine to me
I just bought an R3 myself. I had a GSXR 600 in the past, but I was really attracted to the idea of the 300. I love it! just like you do. Yes, they do say i'll get bored of it, bored of what exactly? The lack of straight line raw power? I'd rather master my craft on this R3 and ride it the best I can, and keep it too. I plan on keeping this baby for a long time. Enjoy your bike, It's awesome looking!
Awesome! totally agree with ya. Thanks, enjoy yours as well!
I forget who said it but they said if you are bored with a 300cc bike take it to a track and you will be humbled
My opinion is it's more fun going thru gears then hit most city street speeds in 1 gear
You sound like Jessie from fast n furious :D
This is so in depth, exactly what I was looking for homie! I’m buying one later this summer. Thanks so much for the information
i like this phrase"every bike is a bike "
Love it. I bought a 2017 R3 ABS down from a 1500cc Intruder. I freaking love my R3. Such a joy to ride, in every way. I agree, a much bigger engine, only temps you to do bad things.
Would you recommend a 2015 r3 for a beginner bike? I was planning on getting it but I've heard that ABS could really be important and make a difference, im just not sure whether to get the 2015 or 2017 with ABS anymore
You gave an awesome, review, bro. Thank you for sharing the mods you did...they really did improve the look and sound of your ride.
Appreciate it man! They definitely do!
he cuts more that my Barber
Bet you still got the same barber 💈
Cuts more than a fight scene from a marvel movie
I know a lot of kids said to me "your too big, its too slow, dont start with a 300, bla bla bla" I test rode that thing, it was AWESOME, i loved revving the hell out of it, and with me at 250 lbs, that thing moves, and fits me perfect.
Just curious if you bought one, I'm of the same weight. Wondering if it would reach freeway speeds
CanisLupis138 wouldnt see why not its top speed is about 113mph
Then there's my 130 lbs self, I can't wait until spring
Jermaine Riley saaaaame
Awesome review, really enjoyed it! Now I am strongly thinking about buying a Yamaha R3 as well.
Really good review, good job editing and explaining the bike with extensive detail.
Thanks!
Probably the best looking example of the R3 I've seen. Nice work man
Thank you for this review. I'm looking on getting mine this week hopefully it will be a good condition 2015 R3 because I love to have one soon
What should I check to make sure the bike is good specifically for 2015 R3
Thanks for a lovely review.
I’ve had a few big bikes and wanted to get a little one so I got the 2017 r3 brand new and it’s a fun fun bike!! Love it!! Great video!!
Nice to see someone enjoying motorcycling for what it is and learning skills before going with a superbike. You see a lot of ppl getting big bikes to boost their ego, but they lack any real riding ability except for in a straight line, which any monkey can do. I’m looking to get back into riding after being off for about ten years. Stuck between ninja 300, ninja 400, and this r3. Considering cbr 500 as well.
Any of those choices would be great! Can't really go wrong with any!
I love my R3 so much! The best investment for me was new tires, made the bike that much better!
it definitely does
great video bro im 100% about getting this as my first bike next week I'll be getting my bike licenses and will getting one also same color as yours. you just got a new subscriber keep up the good work :)
Thanks man appreciate it! You'll definitely have a lot of fun the R3!
You make me love my r3 even more
Cool I’m glad I found your channel. Been modifying my r3 2015 glad you said the head lights the eyes one sucks. Was gunna get one lol thanks
Beautiful looking bike brother, I myself been riding over 30 years I've had small and big powerful bikes and now looking at getting a 2015 yamaha r3 with only 300 miles practically brand new. I'm not looking at all balls out super speed that you can't legally use on the street but a fun bike that I can really enjoy.
I like the Arrow racing exhaust it sounds awesome and flames come out of the pipe.
She is a beauty! Like the modifications you put on it. Sick bike bro! Thanks for the video! Ride safe...
A Proud thanks man, will do!
Awesome review man! Thinking about getting one! Subbed!
thanks!
Glad to hear your positive review on the Yamaha R3 dude! Yammienoob's review of his bike and ninja 300 that he uploaded a few days or weeks ago was totally awful and literally no positive feedbacks for 300cc's bro. But you give a lot of positive review bro!
thanks man! appreciate it, and glad this helped!
Just got my new 2016 R3 yesterday. I "downgraded" from a '06 BMWR1200RT and do not miss it.. Can't wait to break it in this long weekend!
Awesome man glad to hear! sometimes "downgrading" is actually better. you'll have lots of fun on it!
very impressed with your review, good job yamaha zed.
Thanks man!
Great review! Don't change gears so early, the power in the R3 is at that top end and you've still got almost 1.5kRPM when you're changing up a gear.
Love my R3, but can't wait for something a bit quicker.
thanks! yeah, I've noticed I do that sometimes, oh well lol
You had me at gear indicator lol good vid .
I just went and looked at one today😁
Hey man, love the bike looks awesome! I was wondering where you got the tank grip, it looks awesome and i would love to get one.
Thanks man! I got the tank grip from cyclegear, got it back like 6 or 7 months ago, so I don't know if they still carry it
i bought my 1st bike its a r3 2016 matte grey cant wait for an exhaust upgrade
Great review , I had to sub, hopefully I can get a r3 in a year or so
appreciate it! It's definitely worth the wait, hope you get one!
Every motorcycle enthusiast I know, has a "few" motorcycles in their arsenal. It's not an expensive hobby imo. 2 or 3 different sized bikes is easier and easier to come by. Have a 600/1000 supersport for speed, a dirt bike for off road, and a 250/300(or cruiser bike) to roll on around town.
I agree with this kid tho, my 2016 R3 is much more fun to ride fast compared to my 2011 ZX6R. Mind you, I do get annoyed with having to drop a gear or two to pass traffic sometimes compared to my 600, but the price is literally HALF of what a new supersport cost. $5200 cash otd at a dealer is what I paid for my 2016 R3 new. I paid $10,900 cash otd for my 2011 ZX6R 6 years ago for it new. Cash had always been king in my motorcycle buying experiences, and will continue to do so. Anyway, back on topic.
Riding a 250-300cc to it's limits comfortably and confidently vs babying a 600-1000cc supersport being scared as shit of it is not the way to live/learn/ride.
Get your confidence and skills up on whatever you desire to buy, then have fun with it. That's the true point of the 2 wheel life. Not showing off and doing 120+mph wheelies. Doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you're not in a cage(car) you're having fun 🤙 ride on mis amigos
okay thats it! im buying a R3 first before I buy a Miata
Haha awesome!
+Yamaha ZED when wiring the power commander's harness was it a bit difficult? and i heard theres a o2 block off cap to the o2 sensor?
+DubstepCamper very hard
You need 4 wheels before you buy 2, Dubstep. I'm a dirt bike guy myself, but I'm also 32 & not some kid doing reviews on RUclips(no offense, Zed). Buy the Miata, or better yet, buy a Jeep Wrangler, because the bike will give you everything you need in the Miata, but in a more affordable package. You should be looking to diversify your fun, not package it all in the same kind of fun, which is what the Miata will give you paired with any bike.
Decent review, btw, Zed. I've been watching reviews on these bikes for a couple of weeks now, & your's is one of the better ones out there, as well as being one of the most informative. Good job!
nah buy what you want my first vehicle was an 06 ninja 250 and I loved it!! it was tons of fun great on gas cheap on insurance and just all around the best. and yes I rode my bike year round!
Here in 2020 nice vid nice bike hope u still have it
I bought the GG Retrofitz R3. The bike still had clay where they mocked up the profile for the fiberglass 70’s GP inspired fairings. I love it, and I’m a super bike owner and restorer (‘76 CB750, CB550 Super Sport, and CB360T). In three weeks I put 3.5K miles on it. Out of all my bikes, the R3 is the smallest displacement, but is both the fastest and most maneuverable of them all. With my riding experience (about 30k) I smoke my group pals on their R7’s, CBR600RR’s, ZX6R’s, and a Crossplane R1 on the famous canyons around San Diego. They only beat me on the straights, but any rider can simply twist the wrist.
I’ve road all my life and bought the wife a R3. I myself have a R1 but I ride the crap out of the R3 it’s just a really fun bike to play on. Even have a 09 Ninja 250 as well which was her 1st bike. I even ride it too. There tons of fun.
Sounds good.👌
Really good vid for beginners! Looks like the New CBR 1000RR a lil in the front!
Good looking bike 2!
Thanks!
Good chill video man👌
thanks man!
whatt a beauty of a bike
Nice video man
Looking into this as my next bike.. many questions answered!
awesome!
see you live in the Dallas area aswell, maybe you would want to go on a ride with me and some of my friends sometime?
yup, i usually host some group rides during the month. they are usually on a sunday. ill be posting it on my facebook just in case you want to come out and ride. Its pretty much the only time i can ride these days
This review is awesome and really helpful. Hopefully I'm not too tall for this bike since I'm 6 foot 1 and weigh about 170.
thanks! Glad it helped! it doesn't hurt to try and see :)
+Yamaha ZED yeah that's what I'm gonna do.
Paid cash for mine outright $5800 AUD drive away brand new 2017 matte black. And I bloody love it !
holy short shifting son
I got to the 0-60 part and went to see if anyone would comment about that too😂
Thanks for the vid. Do you still have this how is it holding up?
Thanks so much for this review ZED! It was really great. The only other person that did a good job reviewing this bike is Yammie Noob, and I liked yours way better! Super helpful, everything you covered, everything. I have had my eye on this bike for about 1.5 years now. Since it came out basically. AS you can tell by it being my profile picture, I LOVE IT! I am no doubt going to buy this bike, but I am waiting for the funds.... Since I am in college, it may be a year yet...... But I Can't wait.
P.S. Do you have any kind of feeling that Yamaha is going to do any kind of updating on this bike in the next 2 Years?
+Patrick O'Regan appreciate it man! Glad it helped! For updating the r3 I'm not to sure, I hope they would update the r6 before the r3 lol. But who knows, they could add a new bike or something haha :)
About the same acceleration as my (05) S2000,at 6 grand Vtec kicks in,sounds like a superbike, never ran it over 85mph,fun car on the Pacific northwest mountain roads,or down to the store for some refreshments haha
nice vid just finally felt like getting a bike I've been thinking about getting a bike for a while and this bike looks really dope. Only thing I was thinking about is i'm 6ft 4 do you think I would fit on the bike?, most of my height is in my legs.
I'd like to know all the mods you've done to the bike and prices, it looks great
I just got an R3 too, I love it! Where did you get your gas tank pad?
awesome! i got it from my local cyclegear
Awesome video, liked and subbed. When you installed the akra exhaust and the power commander, did you feel a perceivable increase in power/response? I've owned mine for about 6 months and am really intrigued at the idea of upgrading the exhaust but dont want to just throw any ole slip on in there and call it a day. Thanks a bunch for such an informative video.
Hey man thanks! when i installed the power commander, i didn't feel this huge difference, but it was very small. But i would recommend a full system and not a slipon for the R3, more bang for your buck. But glad the video helped!
Great video bro! Love the new intro! Ohhhh Yeah! Such a sexy bikkkeee
thank you very much :)
Great review buddy and I love that exhaust ;) I have a Yamaha YZF R125 atm and I'm thinking of upgrading to the Yamaha R3 soon ;) They look like great little bikes and sound nice with a Akrapovic exhaust! Great video buddy, that's 1 sub from me =)
thanks man! really appreciate it!
That's alright mate ;)
This is gonna be my first bike also I went looking at motorcycles and like u right when I sat on the bike I was like this is the one not getting any other bike lol but I have to wait to get it in December sadly
Hi, I love your mods. Can you please let me know where you got that red bar end mirrors and the red cover (3 bolt covers) on the handle bar
I found them off of ebay
ahhh, a local Frisconian!!! subscribed!
+Spencer Hurst thanks! Lol
Please consider holding the camera still. If you want to be able to move around, a tripod can be very helpful. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the bike.
Nice bike man iam jealous
Just Watched all reviews about this bike in past 2 weeks the only petrol sucking problem is it,but it's not going to stop me buying my first bike yamaha r3 and it's the bike I was looking for and could u suggest me what's the latest update this bike comes with I mean like abs?
Is it difficult to install a power commander? And what needs to be taken off in order to install?
Nice great sounding bike o.O , two q’s what would you say your 0-60 is after mods and can this hold 80 mph well and get up to it without climbing slow ?
MotoStrikerUnit depends on your weight for acceleration. My ninja 300 hits 90 quickly. 4 to 5th gear though. Don’t expect it to be pulling in 6th. I would assume this would not it better. I do only Weight 125 lb though.
that bike looks fucking beautiful
i put a mini car jumper ,2 road flairs, mini bicycle air gun with 3 Co2 air cartridges in my R3 rear storage.
nice review!!! have you changed your tires already?
yes
What part of Texas do you stay in? I live in Houston I looked at the 2018 R3 at Tejas Motorsports. Looking to buy it cash too!
YOOOOO IM 5'6. Yep I've decided. This is my future bike.
Jenn I’m 5.6 too can you reach r3 with both your feet touching the ground?
I'm 5'1" but ride with boots that gives me an extra 1". I can't flat foot but I am able to have the ball of my feet touch the floor just fine. You will probably be able to flat foot easily.
Question for people with Yamaha R3 , I wanna buy a used R3 but idk how many miles is good and bad
Am debating on the ninja 300 or r3 am likeing the ninja a lil bit more just cus of the head light but idk
Where did you get your plate over? If you don't mind me asking!
This dude loves his bike. Hehe.
the best bike
Oo Dallas I'm close to denton is there any bike nights that are active
I wouldn't go as far to say that the R3 is a beast. That's like saying my 230 hp Civic si is a beast.
Its a little beast, pushed it to 193kmph which is crazy for a 300cc bike...Theres videos of people doing more. I dont think ill ever need more power
Hey Yamaha ZED. I'm considering getting an R3 for my first bike. Sat on one at the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas. Loved the feel of it. By the way, are you in the Dallas area? I'm in Johnson County.
Where can I get that tank pad?
Have you added a fuel controller and dyno tuned it?
lol some people start on 1000s but tap tap tap this baby is the perfect starter bike lol
Great video man! I love the mods you've made to your R3.
How is the quality of those eBay levers? I don't want to spend a million dollars on a pair of levers. But I also don't want a pair of flimsy cheap feeling ones either.
thanks man! on the levers, they feel great! the only thing is that after a little bit the color starts to fade if left in the sun too much. I've had them for about 7 to 8 months and it's just now starting to. I mean for $30 levers, that's not bad, compared to like $100 for a single lever haha
Great, I'll order myself a pair then. I'll likely go for black and hope that it fades less than the red color.
The levers don't wiggle around or anything?
+Fadil Karim yeah, the red ones would turn pink lol. but black works good. I like them. they wiggle slightly, but nothing to make you feel like the lever is going to fall off. is it worth almost $250 for a pair of levers that don't wiggle, nor fade? maybe in the long run, but $30 for a pair that do the job, and looks good, you can't beat the price lol.
Everybody on you about the cuts but idk how you may talk bit I know I have my pauses so I'd be doing the same. That R3 is something I'm highly looking into. Either R3 or ZX6R
Where did you get your fork cap covers?
I'm going to buy this bike I just wanted to see a review and now I like this bike even more
You definitely won't be disappointed
Yamaha ZED if You were to make changes to the bike what would you change
Yamaha ZED if You were to make changes to the bike what would you change
I've done a lot to it. Mostly just for looks. But my top 3 so far is, full exhaust, demon eyes, and fender eliminator
Yamaha ZED if You were to make changes to the bike what would you change
Is this the abs version??
I love the r3 so much, I've been debating between the Ninja 300 and this for my first bike, I really like the looks and power of the r3. It's just so expensive! If I have the money I'll definitely buy the r3. I won't be buying for about 2 years so hopefully the price will drop a bit.
Yeah it probably will if you buy used, hope everything works out for ya!
Thanks, if I stumble upon this comment when I do end up buying I'll let ya know what I choose.
@@gageconrad6087 So, 5 years later, what did chose? :p
@@casanovatigo I actually ended up getting a KTM 450EXC Supermoto. It was a fun bike, just eventually had too many issues. I don’t even ride anymore, I’d like a dirt bike again some day though.
@@gageconrad6087 Wow, that's quite a change of ideas, I must say... Thanks for the answer man, appreciated. Stay cool.
I wish the RR R3 came with the YAMAHA sticker on the bottom cowling. Makes it looks kind bland down there. anyway, Great bike man. I LOVE my R3, and there's no way i'm at the maximum potential of the bike at the track. I do HATE the tires though, although again, not like I'm going to maximize the grip on that tire anyway lol
You make me want a 300...too stressful riding my 1000..
thanks
no problem!
You also need to tune the power commander on the dyno, and probably by a professional.
Yeah I did
Pickin my r3 up on Monday. $2500 bruh you’re in Texas ?! Let’s ride !!
How tf u find one so cheap?
I'm in Garland I'm thinking about getting one how can link up with you
I’m 6’4 hopefully I fit on the bike :(
Is it odd that I test rode a used one and felt like it was stiff?
How much you have to pay for service of the bike?
Intro song ? And awsome vid I'm getting an r3
kraddy - android. thanks!
dude this review is great! unfortunatly, im 16 and only legaly allowed to drive a 50cc. In the netherlands you can get this bike when you're 20 -.-
Oh wow, that's really long
Yamaha ZED yhea it sucks :( but i am happy that im atleast able to rided somethign haha. i just bought a "supersport" 50cc wich looks like a sport bike, it just sounds like a dying lawnmower xD anyway, love your videos :D
haha, thanks man!
I'm going to buy this exhaust for my r3 and take the baffle out. Will it sound the same like yours? And what is a power commander and do I need that? Cheers
yup if you buy the full akrapovic gp exhaust and take the baffle out. and you will need a power commander for it as well. The power commander allows you to tune the bike to let it run without the baffle (if you don't tune it correctly or dont have it tuned, taking the baffle out and running the bike like that for a long time will slowly destroy your bike).
whats the size of your tire brothr??
