I've had the R3 for almost a year coming from a sportster 1200. Still not bored of it. Great little bike
How was the transition?
@@kaneetsate1662 it wasn’t bad. Different riding style for sure. In a perfect world I would have just kept both.
I'm wanting to get an R3, coming from a Sportster and Softail
@@kaneetsate1662 I don’t regret the decision. I think if you are someone who likes to go fast I’d probably recommend something with a little more power. Top speed on the R3 is only going to be about 110mph. I found the R3 to be rather impressive for its size though. I’m a big dude and i had no issues on the interstate.
Ok cool, I'm about 5'11, 220lbs u think I'll be ok? I want the bike mainly to commute to work. My Harleys are a little too loud for the place I work at lol
After much debate and contemplation rather to start with a 600cc bike as a first bike vs starting on a yamaha r3, I decided to start with the yamaha r3 to gain experience for the first year than moving up to a 600cc.
You Are Not Ready that’s my plan
How's riding been after a year?
same same. Have fun on your r3!
Just got a 2017 R3! This thing is fun as hell
Enjoy it. Don't let your ego put you on something you don't need.
19:27 for beginners advice.
I had a Ninja 300 for a year before moving on. Like Chase said, the 300 series bikes are great if you have absolutely no riding experience. I feel a lot of riders forget that first month of riding and how overwhelming it can be. Riding is a full body experience unlike any other. Practice is needed to coordinate your body in controlling the bike and the last thing you need is a twitchy throttle and lots of power. If you rode dirt bikes and are moving to the street, don't bother with a 300.
hi theres a posibility of me getting an r3 when i get a licence and im driving a 50cc moped with gears Tomos APN6 fun little bike idk if the transition will be fine. Greets from Croatia
A fair analysis of the Yamaha YZF-R3. I have been riding for 40 years. I bought a 2015 R3 as my 9th motorcycle, specifically for commuting to and from work. I liked the FZ7, but my main criteria for choosing the R3 was the low cost of fuel and insurance (about 50% cheaper). I wanted a bike that I could ride 12 months of the year in all weather (Vancouver is very wet) and it would be stored outside. The R3 turned out to be a very good choice, it does everything I need, its nimble handling is very useful when commuting in rush hour traffic and it's also just fast enough to be entertaining on weekends. It would be nice to have another 10bhp, but my only real complaint is the brakes: I need to use for fingers full force when braking from moderate speeds. The rear brake doesn't worry as much as I primarily use the front. Update: I replaced my R3 with an MT-07 in 2018, but I bought another R3 for my daughter when she turned 16, so we still have on in the house and I still enjoy taking it out for a spin.
100% agree with you on this. fun bike and good on gas if u keep your wrist out of it but sometimes its hard not to do lol.
Ayeeee we both live in THE COUVe!!! Wa!?
33 years! Wow that’s amazing. I just bought a 2019 Yamaha r3 as my first bike today :)
Does the fact that it doesn’t have ABS bothered you? Thinking of buying a 2016 R3 but it doesn’t have ABS
@@xavierdupuis2719 It did not bother me but of course I have been riding for 40 years, and the first 33 years without ABS, so I would not miss it. I have been riding an MT-07 for the past 5 years which is the first ABS bike I have owned. I brought my daughter another R3 this time with ABS, and as she is a new rider I do feel it is a major benefit for her.
I got a 2015 R3 back in May. Brakes had adequate stopping power but not much feedback and you had to apply a fair bit of pressure. Upgraded to a stainless steel brake line up front and problem solved.
I've had my r3 for 7 months now, I have learned ALOT from this bike. Am purchasing my r6 in a few weeks. So glad I started out with this bike. And you are right chase, it is the most fun riding it like a race bike in town without breaking "to many" laws...haha I wouldn't change my first bike experience for anything else. Everything you said in this video is 100% accurate. Great video brother. Keep up the good work!
Your first R3 ride was one of the major selling points for me and what lead me to buy an R3. This new video is just as excellent. It's the first time I've seen the OEM tank pad installed, and it looks good. The brakes can easily be upgraded with better pads and some new lines. I still feel the R3 is the best bike to get into sport bike riding especially for new riders.
I could be wrong but i think to qualify as a great beginner bike, brakes should be one of the more important things. I learned to ride on a 650R kawi, and the brakes weren't great, and that led to a few close calls. That being said learning to ride a bike with crap brakes will make you appreciate good brakes when you get your next bike.
My guy just casually rides past an E-Type..."that's a really cool little car🤗"
yo that's what I'm saying... sexiest car jag has ever made.
E-type is so amazing
@@BrownProductionsTV Most beautiful car ever made by anyone ever
Jake Harvey Thats a really bold statement and I think you might be right
@@BrownProductionsTV I work for JLR lol so I'm biased. But it is up there with the best definitely
Just bought this exact R3. Same year and everything! 7k miles on it, payed a little under 4k. Cant wait to register it in the morning!
I think the brakes being squishy is not necessarily a bad thing, if i's your first time on a motorcycle. You probably do want to upgrade them at some point if you wanna keep the bike for a longer time, but when you first get on it and learn everyday riding, it is probably nice to have brakes that don't accidently throw you forward by accident when city riding. That could cause a new rider to lose control or even crash. But it probably also depends on the person riding :) good stuff Chase!
I had one for almost now a year. I have to admit is a fun bike for a city, you learn how to ride, make curves. Now I looking for an upgrade.
I'm 5'7" and 16 probably will grow a little more and this bike sounds perfect for me
Gangster Hamster same age with the same height and seeing this bike as a good contender to buy!!
😂😂
Cheers mate!!
Saaaame
Same thing here brooooo
Bro im 23 and 5’8 im ashamed lol
I have my R3 set up with a touring windscreen, bags, 150/60 rear tire, pipe, new pegs, shorty levers, z-rated radials, etc. I returned from a 340 mile day trip the previous week and I found a weakness. After awhile the seat goes away, so a new Saddleman gel seat was installed. It is so comfy, and it adds 1/2 inch of height. Here is where my bike is different than some, because the brakes will stand you on your head. I can only assume some pads are different or maybe mine have been worn in to give a better bite. Ride safe!
3:35 Really cool old car? Well, uh, it is the venerable Jaguar XKE. When released in March of 1961 Enzo Ferrari called it, "the most beautiful car made."
Daniel Harris someone else noticed!
Cut him some slack, he’s a motorcycle guy
Lol. I just thought it looked like an e-type. What’s the difference between the XKE and the E-type. Idk if they’re the same or not but I don’t wanna look it up soooo.......
I put a Double Bubble windscreen on my R3 and was really impressed with how the air flowed over me on the highway, it made the bike much nicer from 65-85 MPH.
I've really enjoyed my R3, and I've had much larger bikes. However, I do find myself thinking about getting something in the 6XX range. There's just no replacement for the power in the 600 and liter bikes.
Please do a CB500f or Cbr500r!! Also Yamaha needs to step up their ABS game.
also interested in de 500 series
Ended up getting the R3🤗
Jay Merian I’m thinking about getting it for my first street bike do you still like it and recommend it
Chase, you gotta get your hands on an RC/Duke 390 man! That's the only 300cc you haven't covered, and it's a bomb!
I own the RC390. Go check owner forums.
Quality control on the KTM 390 bikes is absolute shit. Made in India and made like shit.
Avoid them like the plague.
Lol, whats up with your ride man?
Its a purpose built motorbike derived from the Moto3 class of MotoGP... I agree its body kit is made of plastic (fibreglass), it has huge single cylinder engine so it gives good amount of vibrations... but that's the thing.. it aimed as a purpose built light weight track/road bike so as to attain good power to weight ratio... To achieve track bike like light weight character, body kit has to be made of expensive carbon fibre body.. but no body would spend money on expensive parts.. so to make it cheap and light weight its made of fibreglass... which is not bad in itself but it doesn't feel premium either... So if you fall and break stuff, it wouldn't cost you as much as the parts of lets say ninja 300 or R3... sometimes you have to sacrifice on comfort for light weight, better handling and good power to weight ratio... For Eg. like a Mustang or a Camaro in their class they are cheap.. their interiors are made of cheap plastic and doesn't feel premium at all,,, but no one cares.. its made for torque, power and noise... See what I m trying to say here... But I m not arguing or anything just making a point
fibreglass stuff is not really worse than usual carbon fibre. Good fibre glass (S-Glass) is stronger (even per weight) than average lowrange carbon fibre like eg roadcars use. carbon fibre is more stiff but that doesn't matter much in this situation. Unless you can get your hands on Formula 1 style carbon fibre (which none of us here can lol) that fibreglass is a very good and cheaper alternative.
all the 300s are made in india indonesia or thailand none of them are made in japan.
So I'm turning 16 in June and getting my license, since I was born my dad rode a bike almost daily and I've decided that I want to get a bike and I'm really admiring the r3, I've sat on it and it feels really nice compared to a ninja 300 and even a r6.
Great review man. I have an R3 as my first bike.
Get some flushmounts, fender eliminators, and some frame sliders too. What year do you have?
I have all of those things :) it's a 2015
I've got the red and white 2016 R3 and Chase, you nailed it with this video. Spot on review with how the bike feels (good and bad), the looks and value. I really is the king of the 300 class. I'm having a blast with mine and it keeps me entertained enough that I probably wont upgrade for another year. And dont listen to Yammie about 300s not being good for starters :p
I've been riding my 2016 r3 for the past 3 months and loving it Wish I watched this video sooner. Was on a spirited ride and leaned too much and slide out.
P.S. the hole on the top of gas tank. Perfect size for a small red bull can or small dunkin donuts cooletta.
I bougt my R3 as a starter bike back in April 2015. R6 is in the shed waiting but man, this bike is fun!
You should ride the ktm rc390 to complete the circle
In my opinion the R3 is still the best beginner bike. Rode a friends 2015 and it was a lot of fun for a 300. Other then the KTM 390 you won't get bored of riding it like other beginner bikes.
ah this is the first bike I want to get when I'm 17
you cant can only have a 125
+ben linnell you obviously don't know how different countries work... In Australia you can ride 300cc's, etc. All countries are different.
check cbr 250 2016
Where do live?
Me? I like in Australia.
This guys fantastic ! Transitioning from a cruiser to a sportsbike and this has sold me !
Do a KTM RC 390 please!!!
Or Duke 390
People always forget about the 390. It smokes the R3, Ninja 300, and CBR on the track and highway. I own one, so I'm not just hating on the Japanese starter bikes.
The RC390 has it's own race league. Of course it's going to perform a little better specially since it's got more HP.. It's a 390 compared to a 300/321 etc. Even at that most side by side reviews of the 300's and 390 still rated the R3 higher.
The RC390 is an awesome bike... if you want to spend a lot of time on warranty repairs. That made in India bike has so much problems, its not funny. Just go to any RC390 forum and look at their tech or error/issue boards to see what I'm talking about. I wanted one so bad until I did some research on it. :(
The rc390 isn't even a 390 it's a 373... And I have one in 4 months I've put down 7200 miles and I haven't had a problem with it... I can tell you the bike handles amazing,
Your feedback with bikes are very good. I bought my first bike in September 2016, and I have to tell you. It was a pain in the ass to watch people expecting to every single bike being just like the 1000cc like R1, CBR1000, etc. You explain very well for each category, and the reality of each one. Even though I went for the ninja 300 and it is clear on another video the R3 is your favorite, what made me decide for the ninja instead of R3 is the thing you and everybody else said, Brakes. Thanks for the channel.
chase buddy i love ya man but from one motovlogger to another i feel like u dont do motovlogs any more its all first rides and product promotions
I appreciate the feedback man. I don't agree with ya though. My Tuesday videos are always motovloggs/rides with friends and Friday videos are always First Rides or Product Reviews. You might only be noticing the Friday videos it seems like though.
No i love ur vlogs u n yummi r the reason i started motovlogging dont take this as hate i mean it like hey iwanna see MORE motovlogs from chase now that i read what i said it defanitly doesnt sound like what i meant sorry i like the reviews i just want more motovlogs but its ur channel
I didn't think it was hate buddy man. I was just letting you know my schedule. I've had it like that for a while. If I could fit more videos in I would, but I'm capped out on time as it is. I appreciate the kind words.
i feel u on thaat with my work schedule i almost dont have time to film multiple motovlogs a week edit them and upload i need to stock up for winter
I on the other hand love the first ride videos you make. I think they are top notch! Im just waiting for you to try the new Husqvarna 701 supermoto or the Ktm 690 smc-R but Im guessing that you dont have that many 690 Smc-r in the states so GO HUSKY 701 CHASE!
Have a 2015 R3 I purchased new last year when I was commuting 110 miles a day. Was fairly nice and comfortable, and fantastic mileage. The brakes definitely are weak and mushy, and the tires have zero feel to them. Not worth spending the money to upgrade them though as I imagine a good set of radials would just expose other shortcomings.
Never was a big fan of riding it on the highway, but it did alright. Going to sell it in the spring as I recently picked up an 08 Daytona 675.
321cc not 300 ?
yes
It's like how the Rebel is a 234cc and not an actual 250cc. Engine displacements are never exact.
I'm almost old anuff to drive motorcycles and I've done lots of research and these bike is my best choice
Probably just a shot in the dark here but do you have any tips for someone getting ready to get a motorcycle license and starting motovlogging? I love your channel and think you're awesome and I would love your answer. Do you have any tips on how to save money for the bike? This is my first bike so should I buy a new bike and finance it? Get full coverage is a good idea or a waste of money? How much deductible on body injury? Anything helps, man. @chaseontwowheels
i bought my 2015 R3 after watching your FIRST first ride. lol haven't regretted it yet. i get a lot of shit for riding a 300 but i made a video saying how the R3 is a great dad bike and had a lot of great responses from it
KTM RC390!gotta see a review with Chase on it!
KTM= boom. That motor grenades. Much better off spending your money here
I got a 2015 R3 back in May. My first bike and I'm already planning on selling it next spring and getting an R6. Great starter bike and I'm glad I learned on it but I'm so so ready to move up. I took it to the Tail of the Dragon last month and loved it, it's seriously great to learn on. Just not enough power for me
"That's a cool lil' car!"
Hah. Just an E-Type Jag. Not like it's an iconic car or anything ;)
to a car guy it isn't iconic
This mans video went right down the street from me. Crazy.
The rear taillight looks exactly the same as Yamaha FZ-07
Because it is ^^
Little touches like the grips tank pax remind u that your on a Yamaha love that
What about the KTM RC 390? do you get them in America?
Test ride the 2019 as I heard it's a much better bike than the previous models.
That's what I was just asking about. I stopped in and looked at one and they were saying just in the last 2 years they've made a lot of upgrades
Please do a Yamaha yzf r125 abs
I do know think we have those in the US
he can't without traveling oversea's
Yeah we have little to no use for those in North America since our motorcycle licensing laws aren't insanely strict.
Not even that i think it's regulations or something like that
Regulations? Soooo you mean laws?
I've got a '17 in Costa Rica the same color scheme and I love it. Now understand what's settin' back home in a friends nice, dry basement in N.C. is an '05 ZZR1200. "BUT" the R3 does everything I need it to do on the road down here. Whether it's doing the mountain road (and I'm talkin' serious twisties) from Domincal to Perez Zeledon or bombing up and down the Costanera Hwy. beside the Pacific, it's great! I regularly run 110kmh (70mph) and easily run 80mph without any strain at all. I have 1200 km on it right now and my next oil change (synthetic) will be at 2000 after the initial 550 km one. I haven't redlined her but I haven't babied her either:-) I subscribe to the MotoMan break in on new motorcycle engines. Thumbs up for my R3! Oh and did I mention, I'm a 64 year old man who has ridden for 45 years!
I'd rather have a dual sport if I was buying something with less than 600cc. A dual sport is a lot more fun and you can go places a street bike like this can't.
In the UK you have 2 classes of motorbike to do before no restrictions and this is a rather popular option.
chase why don't you do the 500 bikes for example the Honda CBR500R or CB500F
Ahh my first bike. Called her Jupiter! Was a fun 8 months. Learned a lot on that bike. From the moment I first rode a 600 though, I got my CBR600 in the next 2 days lol.
Akrapovic ? You meant Yoshimura?
Dennis Suryana watch the whole vid buddy
Have to agree on the wind 100% I ride an r3 and ninja 400 both very light but the wind does toss u around
any chance to get a first ride of honda cbr500?
not a bad bike. I bought one new for my first, sold it like 6 months later for a yamaha r6. it was fun and all but like most, I wanted more power, more sound, and more fun
+VoidR6 It's a good bike. Bought it used with slip-on without baffle, I actually love the sound and it definitely puts a smile on my face plus the crackles & pops when engine braking is just great. I originally wanted a 4cyl but I can't ride one legally until next spring.
+Kristian G if it looks cool it doesn't need move power as long as it's loud as shit haha
+k34 smk I live in Europe so everything's expensive here compared to the US etc.. You'll save money by picking up a new 2015 leftover over a new 2016 model. But if you're buying used, it's all about the condition of the bike, warranty and resell value. Get a mechanic or biker friend to check the bike for flaws if it's your first bike. If the chain is covered in rust, its probably been sitting outside in the rain and not been taken good care of. There aren't really many other new 500s that I know of, but I've heard the yamaha fz-07 is a good deal because it's about the same price as the 500R and with a bunch more torque. If you don't need all that power, the r3 and the fz/mt 03 is just a few horses short of the cbr500r.
mt07 isnt the same price as cbr500.
My 2015 r3 front brakes are amazing. Super touchy
mine are the same maybe his just come from the factory already like that
do the 2016 kawasaki ninja 300
The brakes are ok, I've had my '15 for a year. locked the brakes a couple weekends ago and ate it in Seattle after I locked them. I agree with brake upgrades.
do a review of the ktm 390
I found that after increasing the suspension setting on my ninja 300 it didn't buffet as much on the freeway. It's a preload adjustment and matching it with your riding style really increases the motorcycle's feel. I know you don't get to change it with the test rides so just letting you know.
My Yamaha TZR 50 (yes! 50cc) revs to 12k :P
2 strokes love to rev.
And yes I have ridden one they are fun but my 125 does feel more solid.
Living in Taiwan doesn't really need a high cc bike because it's just too small, so this bike perfect for commuting around town longer traveling distance. I really want this bike here
you should ride a harley davidson iron 883 for a first ride.
Savage Cabbage Team Iron 883, HD family!
I'm way too big to ever own a 300 but if I was going to this would be the one.... Best looking 300 out there..imo
The R3 feels the most powerful by far? I think some yamaha bias is getting to you the ninja 300 is identical in speed
the cbr 300 is kinda shit though and im a honda owner
How so? It does everything well execpt for power making it shit? Ok...
powerband overall and handling is worse, and it had a couple recall things
Random Gorilla the overall stats are more powerful than the ninja
I rode my friend's Ninja 300, before he wrecked it, and Kawasaki's dualsport 300 at a demo with the same motor, and the R3 feels faster. Accelerating the R3 just feels like it gets going a bit quicker. The Ninja is a nice bike tho, and felt like the engine was better balanced to me. They're very close in comparison.
I think every motorcyclist that has moved on to big cc bikes (600s or 1000s or more) should go back and buy a small cc bike to ride occasionally... keep the big bike but if you can afford it keep one of these little "learner" bikes in the garage. The reason I say this is riding a small cc bike from time to time will keep your skills sharp, as they're not able to use power to cover for bad habits you can develop riding on bigger bikes. I know most motovloggers do this by getting a dual sport or SuMo but if sport bikes are your thing (and especially some of you older riders that started on an OG Ninja 250R) get yourself a 300 sport bike for fun... maybe not even to keep, you can ride it for like 3-6 months and then sell it for almost what you put into it... or keep it if you find one thats enough fun to be worth owning for longer.
Do a review for the ktm rc390
Since I don't have enough money to buy a motorcycle, I live for these videos. Haha. Thanks for doing what you do!
Yamaha is playing games with customers and it's cost has been dead and injured riders. By removing the ABS brake option for USA market but making it standard for rest od the world? Then not letting customers even order the $150 dollar cost apps ABS pump as an option. So most R3's are crashed after a few months. The financing is horrible the have the worst Nada book values cause of all the new rider crashes.
I wish my bike had ABS but I'm fine without it, unless these brakes are super touchy and easy to lock.
Most of the rest of the world has mandatory ABS by government edict, and it's not just Yamaha who make a habit of deleting ABS on US models. Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Polaris / Indian, Harley (i.e. most everyone) does it on their entry and mid level models. NADA has nothing to do with crashes. Insurance rates do though. I got a quote on an FZ-07, as a 10 year rider I was blown away. Must be A LOT of newbies looping them. It's cheaper to insure an FJR-1300 costing twice as much, and having about twice as much power!
Yeah, ABS is nice and all, but not having it is not some kind of death sentence for new riders. Putting them on a bike which requires skill and discipline level over their heads kind of is, though.
You want fewer new rider crashes and cheaper insurance? Realize that many riders either don't have an endorsement, or haven't taken a rider training course. Ask your lawmakers for better and mandatory driver and rider training.
Yes so Yamaha saved a few dollars cutting major rider safety feature. If you want to make excuses and kiss corporate butt be my guest. Yamaha has forever lost me as a customer over the R3 ABS issue. I go back with Yamaha ownership to the early 80's. And yes crashes have made it the worst resell value of the starter bikes.
+Vash Hef
You don't need ABS for a 300cc beginners bike.
Yes that is exactly when it's needed. The overall stopping distance is lower. Did you think 50 to 300 have less injury accidents? Same or more than non super sports even 1000's.
Definitely gonna get one as my first bike and ride it to school in the morning
Don't buy this, get the MT07 or FZ07 with a restrictor kit
That is also a great entry level bike.
Not possible , they deliver mt07 with standard 35kw kit... you cant buy them And restrict them to 35kw
test Aprillia rsv4 bro :)
yeah you can, I bought a 35kw restrictor throttle plate on eBay, it comes with the certificate to give to your insurance company. all legit
Test rode the S1kRR yesterday. Amaaaazingggg. Great entry level bike. Just stay below 12k. lel.
Man I really appreciate these videos, it helped me in my decision of choosing my first motorcycle which happens to be a 2016 Yamaha r6.
You nailed this review, Chase. The bike is fantastic-- except for the stock brakes and tires. When you lean this bike over hard, things can get choppy in the back and that is not a sensation you want to feel when you're going into a turn at 80+ mph. I can't tell if that's due to the crappy stock tires or how small the tires are, but it definitely kills some of the fun of this bike (considering how light and flickable it is). Also, on a windy day on the highway, you get tossed around like nobody's business. I've had to lean hard into the wind to keep the bike going straight. Couple that with the less than stellar brakes, and it's a little spooky. That being said, I love this bike. It's perfect around town, does good enough on the highway, and is a blast to ride in the twisties.
i have this bike for a year now as my first bike (13 years on 125 cc scooters before) and i love it alot! i really wanna upgrade myself to 600 cc but it cost so much more lolanyway. the brakes r really good ikd what ur talking about... i guess ur used to Brembo so u cant compare this to that... :)
I'm glad to live in Europe because here the R3 comes with ABS and a pretty good braking system. No problem to get ABS going with two fingers on the lever and the ABS comes in VERY late! So, no braking problems here at all - just the poor stock tires (Michelin Pilot Street), the rear mirrors, fuel economy and the cheap controls on the dash really suck... 8-)
ON the brake situation put in EBC red stuff brake pads and braided lines game changer
Jaguar E Type! My father owned three of the gems in his time.
I thought I recognized those streets and I-20 lol. then I saw the Lee Rd sign and I was like ahhh!
so cool to have a local moto-vlogger. I'm looking into getting a 300 to start my riding journey and I love the look of the R3. I've rode an R6 a couple of times and I liked it but it was a bit big for my taste.
Glad to stumble upon this video! No experience riding two wheels save for road and mountain bikes and in the market for a motorized...cycle, motorcycle! And this video put me at ease in deciding upon an entry level motorcycle, mostly, since your describing the brakes or lack-there-of since this will be a commuter bike for me. I'll be spending most of my time on the highway, about 80 miles each day, and am looking to have a fun drive yet not overwhelm myself. Thanks for the input!
Hey chase . The 2015 video is the reason I chose the r3 as my first bike. Ur intel was spot on. Thx man keep up the first rides.
Since then I have stepped up to a CBR 600rr which I love. Thx again man. !!!
Ps still own the r3 too!!!
glad you made a vid about it was thinking about going in to get a r3 for back and fourth to work while i fix up my yamaha xs1100 bobber
if you are a beginner, I highly suggest you try a KTM duke 390. in my opinion the best beginner bike there is. maybe something for a first ride Chase?
i'm sure it's been said before but if you lower the clip ons you'll get a more aggressive feel, plus it looks cooler!
I just got my learners licence for motor bike and now going to get an r3 thanks for reviewing
wow im super dream of this sportsbike , and also cbr 150r 2016
This bike will never need any kind of aftermarket parts ......the beauty lies in the bike being stock
ive never ridden a bike before i bought mine i went straight for a 05 gsxr 750 rode it in a parking lot for about 5 mins then went out on the street and was just fine that was about 2 weeks ago now im doing power wheelies already
For the brakes switching out to steel braided brake lines helps with the mushy feeling a lot.
great little starter bike, might be one of the quickest, not much change with the 2016, waaay better gettin to ride her solo
im 6'3 and own a r3 and fit fine =) love that shit
finally a bike that Chase can do full throttle on
yo I'm a kid and I have a 50cc damn dirt bike mate its sick and its rev is awsome
I LOVE the mean look of the headlights!
My second bike. Had it for two years, never heard of the chicken wing part, bit that is so true with this bike lol
I found the brakes on my 2015 R3 really good, the ABS cut's in when needed but my front brakes especially I have to be careful with as they are so good, I usually just use my rear brakes and find they are fine, thanks for the video again cheers from Australia 🦘
The 2015 version has ABS? I thought they only put the option on the 2018 model and up
My side of town! Lol wanting an R3 still dont know what to get but seems this is up my alley! Love the vids chase!
Bought a new Yamaha R3 in the summer. Had to ride it over the highway 20 miles to home in shitty windy condition, and it was my first bike too. So guess what happened I was thrown off everywhere by the wind, trying to get it in control. The other problem is the foot pegs. I'm not even that tall, only 5'11'', and I had scraped my left toe on the street twice now while cornering. The foot pegs are pretty low.
And I don't know if I agree with you on the breaking. It seems pretty good to me, and I have been riding it for 4 months now.
My only complaint about the 2016 R3 other then the brakes is that I had hoped they would be nice and already have integrated signals.
I was considering the Ninja 300 for a while but now I've fallen in love with this one. (Just gotta fix those brakes)
Try the KTM RC390 once and try out the power of that it has
Awesome job with this R3 video, Chase! I've been riding mine since June and I absolutely love it. Started motovlogging last week as well. I didn't see you at the meetup in Austin today. Maybe next time.
Great video man, Im considering this as my first motorcycle.
