You can find the owner's manual on Yamaha's website and that will walk you through what you can expect for maintenance during the time you have it. Oil changes and chain adjustments can be done at home for pretty cheap money. The manual does call for Valve Adjustments every 26k. Not sure if you're still responding to comments, but how come when I check the link for the Philips 127916000KB2 194 Bright White Interior Vision LED light, it says it is not compatible with my R3?
Amazon doesn’t know every single match for every vehicle so if it’s not in their database as a direct fit, they won’t list it as such. That’s the exact item I purchased and it fit perfectly. Any 194 bulb will.
I’d love to have a good friend that’s a motorcycle mechanic or knows a lot about motorcycles in general, I’ve been wanting to get an r3 for the longest, and haven’t really had the time to study everything on motorcycles
Look into an MSF course. It won’t provide the mechanical stuff but will teach you everything you need to know for operating one safely. It’s the best way to get started with bikes.
I know damn well this is sold by now smh, may I ask what were you selling it for and how did you mount the cigarette charger In the front. Sexy ass bike bro

I know this video is pretty old now, but I'm trying to decide between the levers you have on the bike or a set of CRG levers that I could get for the same price. ($130) What's your opinion on those vs true shorty CRG levers?
Cody Barna Great question... if the CRG’s were available back when I bought levers, it would have been a tough decision. I’m now looking for levers for my Thruxton and I’m trying to decide between CRG, Pazzo, ASV and a few others. The Norton levers were great though... I don’t know if they have shorty options now tho.
AesonVirus I decided to go with the Norton’s, I feel like the shorties would be a little to short so hopefully the 3/4 are a good balance. It’s a bummer he doesn’t make a set for your new bike.

devildogak47 Correct, but I was referring to a riding season. One year in New England is basically Spring through Fall and for me, only included days that were weather permitting. I'm not saying I rode the bike 100 miles every day for a year.... just that I rode it for one season where I could and put 3k on it.
I'm getting a r3 soon for my 40 minute commute to work, I personally would of suggested that you either looked into getting maybe high rear sets? For a tighter triangle and a higher seat towards the back? Maybe that would have solved the seating position abit more? Anyway it looked the bollocks mate!
eBay. I can't link it because the listing has expired. This is the part number though.... google this and you should be able to find a new listing for the same pad. 1WD-F41D0-V0-00
Craig's List clowns drove me crazy (everyone giving lowball offers and not showing up with cash) so I ended up trading it in. I took all of the mods off, except for the tank pad of course, and I got $4k in trade. I was happy with that.
I'm not impressed with USD forks though until we see what components are being used. Let's not forget that this is a $5k bike. We're not going to see them installing $2k forks on a $5k bike and if they do go with better components, the bike will lose some of the charm it has with those who want a fun bike for not a lot of money. I know a few guys who have spent more on mods than they did the bike itself. It's worth it to some and not to others. Maybe they should consider a regular R3 for the masses and a "R" model for those of us willing to spend more on better components.
This has to be the most attractive r3 i have seen.

AesonVirus will do, thanks
I know damn well this is sold by now smh, may I ask what were you selling it for and how did you mount the cigarette charger In the front. Sexy ass bike bro
I sold it for $4,000.
The socket was connected to my battery tender. You can find the 12v socket on Amazon.

@@aesonvirus awesome, so you ran the wires under the fairings?
@@FTRHOODFRESH8984 Yup!
Hey man, nice moods! Which of the auxiliary light bulbs did you select of Amazon?
I linked everything in the description. If you don't see it, let me know exactly what bulb you're referring to and I'll link it here for ya.
@@aesonvirus I saw the description links, it's just amazon gives couple size options. I quite new to bike mods and didn't take mine that much apart yet so I have no idea what is the size of the auxiliary light in the triangle upfront.
@@ihork6668 Ah, okay. Yeah, it's the 194/T10 bulb.
@@ihork6668 And if you're kinda new to all this stuff, check out this tread which will save you a lot of time and agony when installing the bulb

best mods i seen
This color is the best for me. I like to buy r3 but blue is the only available here in philippines. No more matte grey for me, how sad
Did you ever consider upgrading the brakes? I've read a few places that they aren't the best out there.
They're 'okay' for around the town riding but if I kept the bike, new pads and steel lines were in order. I didn't know just how bad they were until I compared them to the Brembo brakes on my new Thruxton R... amazing difference. Yeah, the R3 brakes need upgrading.
aesonvirus Awesome. Thanks for the info!
Could you post the Link to the X-grip? I don't find the right one... Amazing R3 by the way! Greetings from Germany
I'll get around to posting some links later this week. In the meantime, I got the x-grip from Amazon. Not sure if this helps but here's the link.

aesonvirus Thank you so much! I Hope the shipping is not so expensive to Germany :-)
Hellow body., what is your hight ? Because i already plan to buy like your bike ,, my hight is 5'7" it is comportable ? Thank you for your reply and ride safe ..
I am 5.4 and I can sit my both feet almost flat to the ground. you surely can.
How did you wire it up so that the integrated tail light and the lightech turn signals both work?
I tapped into the taillight harness wires. I soldered into each wire and used heat shrink tubing over each connection. Came out pretty clean.
Is the seat tall or short on these? I need a good bike for 5'3 female
Suzanne LaDue Seat height is 30.7” and was a bit too low for me. For shorter riders though, lowering links are available.
There are plenty of threads on how shorter riders have managed to lower their R3 on R3Forums.com so I’m sure it would work well for you. Good luck!
Please tell me rim glow tape link
Km Soni The red lines on the wheels are stock... the bike came that way. It’s not glow tape.
Exhaust brand please
Computer Talk It’s a Coffman slip-on. Link to the product is in the description
a year of commuting, 100 miles a day and it only has 3,000 miles on it?
devildogak47 Correct, but I was referring to a riding season. One year in New England is basically Spring through Fall and for me, only included days that were weather permitting. I'm not saying I rode the bike 100 miles every day for a year.... just that I rode it for one season where I could and put 3k on it.
AesonVirus Gotcha
I'm getting a r3 soon for my 40 minute commute to work, I personally would of suggested that you either looked into getting maybe high rear sets? For a tighter triangle and a higher seat towards the back? Maybe that would have solved the seating position abit more? Anyway it looked the bollocks mate!
jesus its beautyfull *-*
What is the price and link for Craigslist?
Lear Colvin She's long gone now.
I have exact bike. Look but need a new exhaust
Where did you get the tank pad
eBay. I can't link it because the listing has expired. This is the part number though.... google this and you should be able to find a new listing for the same pad.

Here's an active listing as of 3/6/2019 - www.ebay.com/p/Yamaha-YZF-R3-Yzf-r3-Carbon-Fiber-Tank-Pad-1wd-f41d0-v0-00/1649217667?iid=223293607173&chn=ps
I appreciate it
Was the exhaust overbearing in high rpms?
And did you put the R6 tube on yourself
Did you put on a larger rear tyre?
Nope
Where did you get the trackable usb port?
Amazon. I posted a link to the product. Just search Amazon for “ZUS”
AesonVirus thanks man im pickin up my first bike tomorrow which happens to be an r3. Seems like a nice little accessory to have
Great bike bro!! Is it sold yet?
Yup... she's gone now. Hope the next person takes good care of it!
aesonvirus of course it is! Lol great work! Congratulations!
you are awesome!!
How much did it sell for ?
Craig's List clowns drove me crazy (everyone giving lowball offers and not showing up with cash) so I ended up trading it in. I took all of the mods off, except for the tank pad of course, and I got $4k in trade. I was happy with that.
I would not like the video if you did not let us hear the sound of that exhaust lol. Thanks for that
Eddie Glad to hear that I passed the test! 🤣
I want it.
how much it costed
Here in the US, the bike went for $4990 MSRP, before taxes and fees. The list of mods are linked above if you'd like to see what each of those cost.
get a front spoiler/Winglet :D
No can do... I sold the bike almost 2 years ago!
AesonVirus oh .. well xd
shit if it wasent for the fact this probably is gone. i would have taken it lol
Exchaust??
Nik Min Coffman
Nice bike but shit forks, Yamaha yzf125r has upside down forks. Come on Yamaha, be fair!
Andrew Traynor Suspension and brakes were both underwhelming but for an entry-level 300 class bike, it was pretty good for what it was.
