Hey EB, a happy new year to you too, and it’s going to be an exciting series, there will be so many videos that when all the Genos 2 videos are eventually released, it will get me very close to the 900 videos milestone
Thanks for your comment! I am also super excited to be releasing these videos, I will spread them out a bit so each video won’t be released every day, it’ll be spread out over a few days, I will be releasing another video next week, so I will make a slow start and then upload them gradually over the coming weeks and months. Thanks for watching!
@@KeyboardKrazy49 sounds like a plan mate! Looking forward to watching them, and also learn about this keyboard and it's capabilities more! Tutorial like videos are really really appreciated! Keep up the good job man! Well done
Thank you so much and God Bless for all your efforts in the coming videos of this unit. Unfortunately machines such as this are miles out of my price bracket, so I truly appreciate you taking the time and effort to demonstrate every single attribute of the unit, so that I know exactly what it's capable of. Happy belated 2024 also by the way :-) Regards. Spatcher.
Great , I’ve been waiting for this one, really looking forward to this series of videos on the Genos 2. Thanks in advance for all of the work that I know you have put into putting this series together for us to see all that Genos 2 has to offer.
Hey Simon, thanks for your comment! There will be many more videos to come very soon, I still have lots to do, but it will all be worth it once the entire series is finished, I hope you are well and enjoying your PSR-SX600!
Oh it will be fun, but just a quick pointer for you, please this time not so many comments regarding song styles in the styles videos, at least leave some out for others to mention the song resemblances
@@GreenBoy9000you obviously didn’t get what I said on my previous reply to this comment I left a few months ago, I said to mention at least 4 to 5 songs per video to leave others to guess some song references, you’re doing too many and not leaving others to have a guess what songs certain styles resemble
A feature that i love of the arranger keyboard Yamaha Series (PSR-S & SX, Tyros and Genos), is, in the "Voice" select window, i can to have the "Pre--Hearing" function; selecting a voice and pressing or tapping the "Demo" button. Is just one of my favorite functions in these keyboard series since i started my first keyboard sessions in my Yamaha Music academy here in Bogotá, Colombia.... I should to travel to "Bonner's" to demonstrate you my skills over the keys. Thank you very much, Michael and i hope you enjoy some of my videos playing the PSR-SX900, for example... :)
Hi Michael - would you mind posting each voice demonstration and style demonstration as a separate video? HAHAHAHAHAHAH. Just kidding - looking forward to your upcoming series!
Happy new year wow The Genos 2 does look a great keyboard I’m still enjoying my new PSR-E373 so far and I must say it’s a great keyboard overall I liked the fact that it’s got a new sound chip and I recognise some of the voices on the PSR-E373 are from the Tyros range
I might be too late on this one, congratulations on your new main keyboard! I have to admit there's still a few fare things I don't yet know about the psr e473 but I now know how to use some of the cooler features like the motion effects, I've enjoyed changing how the styles sound, revoicing also works on user styles as well so now I've no need to look for the psr 520 especially since I have all those styles all ready, I have a gig coming up on the 10th of march which is so exciting because I was unable to do one last year, thankfully the yamaha psr e473 mega boost will reduce the need for too many cables as its pretty loud, what I do now is record accompaniments ahead of time with additional playing by myself to add atmosphere, that way I have the whole keyboard to myself, I've noticed that saving user songs is a lot quickeer, once I have fully mastered the sequencer I will start doing game sound track covers, I recently got the new super mario bros wonder game so I will do covers of that, its probably one of the best switch games I ever played, and yes, I was up all night on christmas day figuring out the ins and outs of the psr e473
Happy belated new year once again! I think it was well worth you selling the original Genos so you could buy your own Genos 2, it's better than just borrowing one not that the Genos 1 pails too much in comparison but it's not often Yamaha release a brand new flagship keyboard, with Tyros it varied usually with 2, 3 or 4 years between models but 6 years is quite a long time for Yamaha to produce the Genos 1. I was surprised at how lightweight the Yamaha Genos 2 appears to be, I know the Yamaha Tyros keyboards are quite heavy. The demo songs are incredible and I also like the the photos that accompany the demo songs, Country&Folk sounds similar to one of the the original Genos demonstrations songs.
This keyboard sure promise MEGA-FUN musically talking... This unboxing remembers me with nostalgia, when i received my PSR-S910 keyboard in 2012.... I miss a lots to play my instrument. Last september my keyboard begun to have its first failures and its repair is too expensive....
I won’t be doing that since I will be playing the voices, the only voices I have done that for is most of the mega voices since you can’t play those live
Thanks for your comment! They will be available at some point in time, I will be spreading the Genos 2 videos out throughout the year until all videos have been uploaded
Please go through all the Styles of the Yamaha Genos 2 like you did with the original Genos. Can you also go through all the Styles on the KORG PA5X as well? I want to hear what the new styles sounds like on the Yamaha Genos 2.
I will show everything on Genos 2, I’m afraid I don’t have a Korg Pa5X, but I have borrowed one last year and did some videos of it, I wasn’t able to show everything on it though because I only had it for a short time
Hello my friend, i hope you will be able to show us all about the ‘expansion’ packs, as i am completely lost on this subject, and don’t know how to use them. I never even learned how to use the Genos 1 expansion packs before i part exchanged it. Cheers, Mick.
On the last tutorial video, I will be showing how to install expansion packs, in the meantime, you can always go back to my PSR-SX900 tutorial video where I show exactly that, and you can install them in the same way on Genos 2
In the styles videos, I’d rather stay with the styles names since there would be too much screen tapping and would take more time in the video if I did it like that, there is a default tempo shown on every style in the styles menu
Michael, I know that most of us would like a Genos 2 but I have a question for you……. Do you think that a second hand Genos 1 is still a good purchase for those of us who are not in a position to outlay for the the cost of Genos 2? Personally I think a fair priced Genos 1 would still be a good purchase for someone in that position but I would value your opinion. Thanks for your thoughts and I’m looking forward to this whole series on Genos 2.
Hello again Simon, the Genos 1 keyboards are going very cheap now and it is still an absolutely fantastic keyboard! For those that would like a cheap second hand Genos will still get a lot of good functionalities and sounds, with the addition of more sounds with expansion packs completely free from the Yamaha site, I know Genos 2 is still quite steep in the price range, but Genos 1 is cheaper and you still get a lot of sounds and styles etc. At Bonners we are selling second hand Genos 1 keyboards at £2199 without speakers, and £2399 with speakers, I know it hasn’t been long since Genos 2 was launched, but we already have 1 second hand Genos 2 without speakers priced at £3399. Hope this helps you if you are thinking of getting one sometime :)
Thanks for the reply Michael and your thoughts on the subject. At the moment I am just thinking about it and I value your opinion as someone who has used both Genos and Genos2. I have been back and watched your videos on the Genos 1 to refresh my memory on it and I will continue to decide whether to upgrade from the SX600. Thanks again and happy playing .
I think Pa5X competed with the original Genos, Genos 2 is so much better, no doubt that in years to come, there may be a Pa6X to compete with the Genos 2
There is no confirmation of that model yet, Genos 2 has only been out for 6 months so let’s just appreciate what this model has to offer while it lasts
