This bring back 2000-2003 vibes so much. Until 2004 when American Idiot completely blew up.
Rob Cabarro chemistry?
This is one of the greatest live performances of that song I've ever seen. Including when I saw them live in person on the Revolution Radio tour back in 2017.
I swear the quality of their shows is fucking ridiculous and gets better with every tour. They are fucking TIGHT. Like they've reached the threshold for how tight (well coordinated) you can be as a band. They just couldn't be any better than this.
Their setlist from the show I attended :
(in order)
1. Know Your Enemy
2. Bang Bang
3. Revolution Radio
4. Holiday
5. letterbomb
6. Boulevard of Broken Dreams
7. Longview
8. Youngblood
9. 2,000 Light Years Away
10. Hitchin' a Ride
11. When I Come Around
12. Welcome to Paradise
13. Minority
14. Are We the Waiting
15. St. Jimmy
16. Knowledge
17. Basket Case
18. She
19. Kng For a Day
20. Still Breathing
21. Forever Now
22. American Idiot
23. Jesus of Suburbia
24. Good Riddance
I was ELATED that they played *Forever Now". Green Day is exceptionally great at ending a record. And that song was another great example of that. Seriously underrated song. It's the "Homecoming" of Revolution Radio and it could not fit there more perfectly than it already does.
Green Day doesn't just make albums-they engineer them. And they're among the very best at this. It's pretty rare for an artist to release an album that doesn't have a single lame song on it. Usually you might expect 2-4 good songs and the rest is not usually something you'd care to hear again.
For an artist to release 8-10 albums that you can play front to back and actually enjoy it without having to skip songs?
I mean that's just unheard of. It's ridiculous really. I don't think there's ever been another band/artist to have accomplished such a feat. Which supports my claim that Billie Joe Armstrong is one of the greatest songwriters in the history of modern music. I mean we're talking top 3 here. And he's no genius. He wouldn't have lasted long on American Idol. But yet he's such a phenomenal songwriter his skills are fucking legend.
I even thought Father of All Motherf*ckers was a BANGER of an album. Especially for what is was. Another great ending to an album, and another hugely underrated song. "Graffitia" is SO GOOD! Dying to hear SAVIORS so bad it's killing me! I'd say it's gonna be incredibly well received by most of their fanbase. Likely even moreso than Revolution Radio.
21st Century Breakdown is their best work to date in my opinion if anyone cares to know. I base that on the quality of songwriting. (Themes, lyrics, creativity, diversity, structure, imagery, and how much of their overall talent is being demonstrated)
I appreciate the review and I completely agree! These guys are just gonna say shit. Ignore it. I've seen Green day 4 times. Billie Joe is a legend. One of the best to ever do it.
Check out the performance of this song at goat island, better yet watch that entire performance. Arguably the best live show to date

Merry Christmas Billie Joe and Green Day
I wanna be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I wanna be the minority
I pledge allegiance to the underworld
One nation under dog, there of which I stand alone
A face in the crowd, unsung against the mold
Without a doubt, singled out, the only way I know
'Cause I wanna be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I wanna be the minority
Stepped out of the line
Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time
To my own beat, now
The only way I know
One light, one mind, flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud, " she screamed unto me
A free for all, fuck 'em all, you are at your own sight
'Cause I wanna be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I wanna be the minority, hey!
One light, one mind, flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud, " she screamed unto me
A free for all, fuck 'em all, you are at your own sight
'Cause I wanna be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I wanna be the minority
I wanna be the minority
I wanna be the minority
I wanna be the minority
I wanna be the minority!
